SAFETY SYRINGE
20210393882 · 2021-12-23 ·

A safety syringe comprising a barrel having an opening at an end thereof and a bung positioned in the barrel and creating a volume between the opening and the bung. The safety syringe also comprises a handle portion secured to the barrel and a syringe plunger slidably engaged with the handle portion and moveable within the barrel on an inward stroke to drive the bung forwards within the barrel to cause a substance within the volume to be expelled from the opening. The safety syringe further comprises a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the syringe plunger within the barrel at a point during the inward stroke when the syringe plunger is in contact with the bung, such that a rotational force is applied to the barrel and a brake connected to the handle portion and configured to provide a frictional force to resist the rotational force applied to the barrel.

A system for injecting includes a syringe body, a syringe interior, a syringe flange, and a stopper member and an injectable fluid disposed in the syringe interior. The system also includes a plunger member coupled to the stopper member. The system further includes a finger flange removably coupled to the syringe flange, the finger flange defining a pair of side openings and a pair of bumps adjacent respective side openings. Moreover, the system also includes a swing spacer rotatably coupled to the finger flange, the swing spacer defining a pair of arms, a pair of pivot pins, two pairs of slots, and a pair of indentations. The swing spacer is configured to define a distance of movement of the plunger member relative to the syringe body along a longitudinal axis of the syringe body, thereby defining a dose of the injectable fluid.

A barrel opening receives a barrel of the syringe, and includes a central longitudinal axis, a shaft channel and a set screw channel having a screw axis passing through the shaft channel. A dosing shaft extends from a first end to a second end and includes a plurality of notches between the ends. The dosing shaft is located and slideable within the shaft channel. A plunger cap includes a plunger receptacle and attaches to a first end of the dosing shaft. A socket set screw is located and engaged within the set screw channel and has a resilient end engageable with the notches of the dosing shaft.

EXOSTRUCTURE TO ASSIST IN ACCURATE SYRINGE INJECTION

A syringe exostructure includes a main body which removably receives a syringe having a syringe barrel and a syringe plunger. A drive plunger is reciprocatably mounted on the main body, and a plunger bar is slidably received in an axial channel on the drive plunger. The plunger bar is configured to removably couple to the syringe plunger when the syringe is introduced into the main body. A drive pawl assembly is fixed to an upper surface of the drive plunger and transfers forward motion of the drive plunger to the plunger bar as the drive plunger is advanced and disengages from the plunger bar when the drive plunger is retracted. A locking pawl assembly is fixed to the main body and extends through a slot formed in the bottom of the axial channel in the drive plunger. The locking pawl engages the plunger bar and allows the plunger bar to be advanced by the drive plunger as the drive plunger is advanced but prevents the plunger bar from being retracted by the drive plunger as the drive plunger is retracted.

Syringe plunger rod

The present invention relates to a syringe having a barrel, a plunger arranged to travel within said barrel and a plunger rod for driving the plunger in a bidirectional manner. The plunger rod is provided with a head at a distal end thereof and a plurality of protruding finger grip enhancing means axially spaced along a length of the plunger rod.

SYRINGE ADAPTER FOR MEDICATION
20210369980 · 2021-12-02 ·

Improved apparatus for use with medication in fluid form, which is particularly beneficial for medications having a relatively high viscosity. The disclosed syringe adapter has an opening that is relatively large, as compared to a conventional needle, and thus affixing the disclosed syringe adapter to a syringe improves syringeability of higher-viscosity medications. Some embodiments feature a lateral extension that prevents inserting the syringe adapter too far into a medicine bottle, and some embodiments feature a component that assists in firmly grasping. When the disclosed syringe adapter is affixed to a pistol-grip or tab-handled syringe, the medication withdrawn into the pistol-grip syringe can be more easily administered from the syringe barrel. In some embodiments, the syringe adapter will be replaced with a needle prior to injecting the medication, while in some other embodiments, the needle is affixed to the in-place syringe adapter for the injection.

DELIVERY DEVICE

A delivery device for intravenous delivery of microparticles to a patient. The delivery device is fluidly connectable to (i) a first source of an injection medium and (ii) a second source of an injection medium. The delivery device includes: a first fluid inlet fluidly connectable to the first source of the injection medium, a fluid outlet, a fluid mixer fluidly connecting the first fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, a second fluid inlet fluidly connectable to the second source of the injection medium, and a source of microparticles fluidly connecting the second fluid inlet to the fluid mixer. When fluid flows from the second source of the injection medium into the delivery device: the second injection medium fluidly drives microparticles from the source of microparticles into the fluid mixer, and the fluid outlet dispenses to the patient an injection medium that includes the microparticles.

Precision low-dose, low-waste syringes and ergonomic attachments therefor

Syringe attachments and syringes have particular suitability to the precision dispensing of small amounts of high viscosity materials, such as dermal fillers. Syringes and attachments may include precision position indicators viewed from multiple positions to enable a user to determine plunger position and the amount of dispensed contents with precision. A configuration of the attachment may be slidably secured to a syringe to permit a user to operate the syringe from a lateral position using sliding movement of the thumb and fingers of one hand, for example. This configuration may be particularly suitable for self-administered insulin injections.
