CONTROL MECHANISM FOR PRIMING AN INJECTION DEVICE

An injection device includes a syringe barrel for holding medication, a collar positioned on a proximal end of the syringe barrel, a piston assembly including a piston arranged in the syringe barrel, and a rod member extending through the collar to the piston, and a blocking member arranged on the rod member. The piston assembly is movable distally relative to the syringe barrel in a priming stroke. The piston assembly is movable relative to the collar during the priming stroke of the piston assembly such that the blocking member longitudinally abuts the piston assembly and the collar at an end of the priming stroke of the piston assembly.

MEDICAMENT FILLING SYSTEM

A syringe assembly (2) that locks a syringe (10) to prevent backflow of medicament, the syringe assembly (2) comprising a syringe (10) including a barrel (12) configured to carry the medicament, a plunger (14) that communicates with the barrel (12), and a plunger head (16) disposed on a proximal end of the plunger (14), and a locking assembly (50) disposed around the barrel (12), wherein the locking assembly (50) prevents the plunger (14) from moving away from the barrel (12) to draw the medicament into the barrel (12).

Apparatus and methods for medicament delivery. The apparatus may include, and the methods may involve, a delivery device for delivering a target amount of the medicament from a distal end of the device. The device may include a rod for moving a plunger that discharges the medicament from the distal end. The device may avoid or reduce deformation of the plunger during the discharge. The plunger motion may be stopped by detent that interacts with the rod. The apparatus and the methods may provide an operator indication of progress of stages of operation. The device may feature triggers corresponding to stages of medicament displacement from the device, such as pre-delivery stages, including priming.

Pharmaceutical container and liquid composition

A pharmaceutical container for drug delivery includes a barrel configured to slidably receive a stopper. The stopper has a proximal end suitable for contacting a plunger rod and a distal end suitable for contacting a pharmaceutical composition. The stopper has a circumferential surface partially contacting an inner surface of the barrel. A surface roughness of the inner surface of the barrel declines from the stopper's start position to its end position by at least 3% of at least one of Ra roughness or Rms roughness.

INJECTION DEVICE

Injection monitoring circuitry is provided for coupling to part of an injection device having a syringe and a plunger rod. The injection monitoring circuitry has an input to receive force measurement data from a force sensor, the force measurement data includes a plurality of timestamped force measurements of force applied by a user to the injection device when an injection is administered to an injection site. Processing circuitry is provided to determine from the force measurement data when an end of injection has been reached, the end of injection corresponding to the plunger rod having reached an end position in a distal portion of the barrel of the syringe during administration of the injection by the user. Machine readable instructions and an injection monitoring method are also provided.

Plunger sub-assembly for a prefilled medicament injector, a prefilled medicament injector and method for assembling a prefilled medical injector

A plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) for a pre-filled medicament injector for expelling a dose of a medicament, comprising: a) a container (60) holding a medicament, the container (60) comprising a body (61) with a proximally facing rim surface (64), and a distally slideable piston (63); b) a plunger (40); and c) a tolerance compensating element (70; 80) configured to cooperate with the plunger (40) and to cooperate with either the proximally facing rim surface (64) or the piston (63), the tolerance compensating element (70; 80) being rotatable relative to the plunger (40) to adjust the piston (63) end of dose position. The plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) is formed so that end of dose state occurs by the plunger (40) cooperating with the proximally facing rim surface (64). Pre-filled medicament injectors and methods of assembling a pre-filled medicament injector are further described.

SYRINGE WITH BRAKE MEANS

A syringe is provided and comprising a barrel having an outlet and a piston movable along the inside of the barrel to take in or expel fluid from the outlet. The syringe comprises brake means for influencing movement of the piston.

Pharmaceutical package for ophthalmic formulations

A liquid formulation of an ophthalmic drug in a pharmaceutical package, for example a syringe, cartridge, or vial, made in part or in whole of a thermoplastic polymer, coated on the interior with a tie coating or layer, a barrier coating or layer, a pH protective coating or layer, and optionally a lubricity coating or layer.

The invention provides a syringe for use in an ophthalmic injection. The syringe comprises a body, a stopper and a plunger. The body comprises an outlet at an outlet end and the stopper is arranged within the body such that a front surface of the stopper and the body define a variable volume chamber from which a fluid can be expelled though the outlet. The plunger comprises a plunger contact surface at a first end and a rod extends between the plunger contact surface and a rear portion. The plunger contact surface is arranged to contact the stopper but not couple thereto, such that the plunger can be used to force the stopper towards the outlet end of the body, reducing the volume of the variable volume chamber, but not to move the stopper away from the outlet end.
