Dual-Dose Syringe System
20170281872 · 2017-10-05 ·

An dual-dose syringe system is an apparatus that includes a tubular housing and a plunger. The tubular housing attaches onto a variety of syringe and needle assemblies and mounts the plunger within the syringe. The tubular housing prevents the plunger from simply traversing into the syringe. The tubular housing includes a first lateral-half portion and a second lateral half-portion that snaps onto each other and encloses a syringe. The tubular housing further includes a key slot that engages the plunger. The plunger includes a plurality of cross bars that predetermine two doses. Each of the plurality of cross bars is positioned perpendicular to a corresponding adjacent bar, forcing a user to purposefully twist the plunger in order to administer a dose. The apparatus further includes at least one spring-loaded barb that prevents the reuse of the apparatus.

Dose mechanism for an injection device for limiting a dose setting corresponding to the amount of medicament left

A mechanism for preventing setting of a dose, which exceeds the amount of a medicament in a reservoir in an injection device. The device can contain a threaded piston rod, a limiter and a driver. The three elements can be arranged such that during dose setting, the limiter is moved towards an end-of-content position, wherein dose setting is limited. The invention contains an accumulative and a non-accumulative embodiment. The invention further relates to a mechanism for preventing ejection of a dose exceeding the set dose.

PHARMACEUTICAL SYRINGE UNIT, PHARMACEUTICAL INJECTION DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH SAID UNIT, INJECTION NEEDLE ATTACHMENT AND REMOVAL FIXTURE, AND STORAGE CASE

There is provided a pharmaceutical syringe unit that is mounted to a pharmaceutical injection device main body and holds a pharmaceutical syringe, in order to mount the pharmaceutical-filled pharmaceutical syringe to a pharmaceutical injection device, wherein a syringe cover is slid in the forward and backward direction with respect to a distal end cap by the operation of the pharmaceutical injection device main body, allowing movement between a needle insertion position at which the insertion of an injection needle into a target is completed, and a needle withdrawal position at which the withdrawal of the injection needle from the target is completed, and the range over which the syringe cover can be slid by a guide component is greater than the distance between the needle insertion position and the needle withdrawal position.

Disclosed herein is a syringe device comprises (a) an outer housing, (b) a barrel, (c) a stopper, and (d) a plunger with one or more grooves.

AUTOMATICALLY-LOCKING VACUUM SYRINGES, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Automatically-locking syringes are disclosed herein. A syringe in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include (i) a barrel, (ii) a plunger slidably positioned within the barrel, and (iii) a lock plate coupled to the barrel. The plunger also extends through an opening in the lock plate, and a biasing member is configured to bias the lock plate to a locking position. When the plunger is moved from a depressed position to a withdrawn position, the lock feature engages the lock plate to drive the lock plate away from the locking position to thereby permit the lock feature to pass through the opening in the lock plate. After the lock feature passes through the opening, the biasing member drives the lock plate to the locking position to inhibit movement of the plunger from the withdrawn position to the depressed position.

The invention provides a syringe for use in an ophthalmic injection. The syringe comprises a body, a stopper and a plunger. The body comprises an outlet at an outlet end and the stopper is arranged within the body such that a front surface of the stopper and the body define a variable volume chamber from which a fluid can be expelled though the outlet. The plunger comprises a plunger contact surface at a first end and a rod extends between the plunger contact surface and a rear portion. The plunger contact surface is arranged to contact the stopper but not couple thereto, such that the plunger can be used to force the stopper towards the outlet end of the body, reducing the volume of the variable volume chamber, but not to move the stopper away from the outlet end.

A smart syringe (200), including a disposable body and a smart cap (250) is provided. The disposable body includes a barrel (210), a stopper (220), and a plunger rod (225) attached to the stopper. The smart cap (250) is configured to be attached to the plunger (225) and comprises a sensor (446) which senses a movement of the plunger rod (225), an indicator (256/460/462), a communication module (458), and a power supply (468). The communication module (458) is configured to communicate with an external device (350). Data output from the sensor (446) may be transmitted to the external device (350) in order to determine a dose provided to a patient. Alternately, a microcontroller (450) in the smart cap (250) may determine an amount of a dose provided to a patient based on data output from the sensor (446), and information of the dose may be transmitted to the external device (350).
