Plunger gasket with reduced surface contact
11707576 · 2023-07-25 · ·

A plunger gasket with reduced surface contact area including a body, a first side defining a first side surface, a second side defining a second side surface, and at least one surface feature projecting outwardly from at least one of the first or second side surfaces. In example embodiments, at least one surface feature projects outwardly from both the first and second side surfaces. By reducing the surface areas of contact between gaskets during manufacture and processing, the incidence of unintentional cohesion may be reduced or eliminated.

20230226280 · 2023-07-20 ·

An injection device includes one or more of a barrel having an open proximal end, an open distal end, and a sidewall therebetween; a plunger; and a conduit or connector. The barrel may be configured to house a volume of therapeutic agent. The plunger may have a proximal end, a distal end, and an elongate body. The conduit or connector may be operably attached to the open distal end of the barrel. The distal end of the barrel can include a variable inner diameter segment configured such that movement of the plunger to the variable inner diameter segment of the distal end of the barrel creates an audible and/or tactile feedback sensation to a user.

Syringe stopper and plunger rod arrangement for a syringe assembly
11701472 · 2023-07-18 · ·

A syringe assembly includes a substantially cylindrical syringe barrel including a fluid dispensing end, an open end, and at least one protrusion adjacent the open end, the at least one protrusion projecting inwardly from an inner surface of the syringe barrel, a stopper configured to be received within the open end of the syringe barrel, and a plunger rod having a plunger rod body extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and at least one support disk provided on the distal end thereof. The support disk on the plunger rod is configured to bear against the protrusion of the syringe barrel upon misalignment of the plunger rod in the syringe barrel.

Sterile syringe comprising a non-sliding seal
11541181 · 2023-01-03 · ·

The invention discloses a sterile syringe (100) comprising a barrel (1) having internal surfaces (2), a plunger (3) movable within the barrel, a non-sliding seal (7) between the barrel and the plunger defining a sealed volume (8) and at least one filter (9) allowing only filtered gases to enter the sealed volume such that the syringe maintains its sterility even after several uses. The filters could be positioned on different locations on the syringe like on the non-sliding seal, the barrel, the barrel flange or the plunger handle.

Injection spring for aged prefilled syringe and auto injector

A method of adapting an auto injector configured to actuate a prefilled syringe, the auto injector having a biasing member having a spring constant, the prefilled syringe being filled with a volume of therapeutic fluid, the prefilled syringe including a barrel, stopper, and a needle, the stopper having a path of travel, the biasing member arranged to move the stopper along the path of travel. An auto injector having an injection spring adapted to an aged prefilled syringe.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING FLUID FLOW FROM A SYRINGE
20220412783 · 2022-12-29 ·

A device and method for measuring a volume of liquid expelled from a syringe is provided. The device generally includes a syringe barrel, a plunger actuated with a plunger rod, and a sensor. The sensor may include two ports with one port being in fluid communication with a source of fluid external to the syringe barrel, while the second port is in fluid communication either with a proximal end portion of the syringe barrel or a hollow plunger rod having a first end closed by the plunger. The method may include expelling liquid from the syringe; detecting and recording differential pressure with the sensor over time; and calculating the volume of liquid expelled from the syringe from the recorded differential pressure over time.

Fertility kits with syringes and collection jars, and method of use
11529172 · 2022-12-20 · ·

A fertility kit for performing self-insemination, comprising a package with three sets of sterilized disposable syringes and collection jars. Each fertility syringe comprises: an outer rigid tubular barrel and an inner plunger. The barrel comprises a curved distal end with a small circular distal opening, and a sealed proximal end, and an inner hollow tube housing the plunger. The barrel's proximal end also comprises two opposing circular members to fit a user's fingers; and a plunger flat end fitting in-between. The plunger distal end has a has a funnel-like shape that fits into the barrel curved end to push all the semen out while preventing a backflow. The collection jar comprises a sealable lid, and an inner surface comprising smooth seamless edges. Fresh or frozen, unwashed semen is deposited into the jar, pulled into the syringe, and administered cervically during a user's maximum monthly level of luteinizing hormone.

Gas Sterilizable Syringes Having Apertures Covered by Gas Permeable Barriers for Enabling Ingress and Egress of Sterilization Gases While Preventing Leakage of Flowable Materials

A gas sterilizable syringe includes an enclosure having walls that define a fluid chamber. A flowable material is disposed within the fluid chamber of the enclosure. A plunger is assembled with the enclosure and is moveable toward a distal end of the enclosure for dispensing the flowable material. One or more apertures are formed in at least one of the walls of the enclosure. A gas permeable barrier covers at least one of the apertures formed in at least one of the walls of the enclosure for enabling sterilization gases to pass through the at least one aperture covered by the gas permeable barrier while preventing the flowable material from passing through the at least one of aperture. The gas permeable barrier is permeable to the sterilization gases and impermeable to the flowable material disposed within the fluid chamber of the enclosure.
