11612697 · 2023-03-28 ·

A container having a barrier layer is provided. The container may be of thermoplastic and the barrier may inhibit materials from leaching from the thermoplastic material or from extraction of compounds from medicants by the thermoplastic. A process is also described that allows for molding thin barrier layers as container lines and for forming thermoplastic containers with barrier liners.

Collapsible Syringe Plunger and Syringe Incorporating Same
20230037112 · 2023-02-02 ·

A plunger for a syringe comprises a stem portion with a longitudinally extending groove that receives an extension portion. The extension portion sits at least partially within the groove when a space-saving, collapsed configuration is desired. When a user is ready to elongate the plunger and/or use a syringe containing the plunger, the extension portion can slide within the groove to lengthen the plunger until a locking mechanism is engaged.

MEDICAL SYRINGE AND PISTON STOPPERS FOR A MEDICAL SYRINGE

The invention relates to a piston stopper (10) for a medical syringe (1) wherein the piston stopper (10) has an end wall (11), a lateral wall (12) and an internal thread (16) for securing a piston rod (7). The piston stopper (10) comprises a main body (10a) which made of a cycloolefin, in particular a cycloloefin copolymer or a cycloolefin polymer. A plurality of sealing rings (13a-13d) that are made from a plastic material extend around the main body of the piston (10) and are materially bonded to the main body of the piston (10a). The invention furthermore relates to a medical syringe (1) and to a method for the production thereof.

DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING A FLUID

A device for administering a fluid can include a cylinder, a piston connected to a piston rod, and a tensioning device connected to the piston rod. The tensioning device includes a ramp which is rotatable via a motor, a ramp track, and a roller which is in contact with the ramp track and which is mounted rotatably in a driver. The driver can be connected to the piston rod via a joint. In a tensioning procedure, the ramp track is rotated such that the roller runs on the region of inclination as far as the second plateau and the piston is thereby moved to its rear end position. In a dispensing procedure, the ramp track is rotated until the roller runs over a transfer region and, on account of the tensioning, is accelerated toward the first plateau and, as a result, the piston is moved toward the an dispensing end.

Pharmaceutical syringe piston

A piston to be provided within an inner wall of a barrel of a pharmaceutical syringe for dispensing medicament retained in the barrel is described. The piston includes a body defining a central face, a cylindrical portion, and an annular curved portion between the cylindrical portion and the central face portion. The piston also includes an inert film enclosing the central face portion and at least a part of the annular curved portion. The cylindrical portion and the part of the annular curved portion are together configured to maintain a fluid-tight seal with the inner wall of the barrel. A pharmaceutical syringe is described for dispensing a medicament includes a barrel configured to retain the medicament and the piston.

Compact injector systems and methods
11607502 · 2023-03-21 · ·

Devices and methods for a compact injector are provided with a compact configuration for ease of carrying or storage, and an activated configuration ready for injection. In the compact configuration, a plunger and a needle are both retracted into the injector housing, and upon actuation to the activated configuration, the plunger extends proximally and the needle extends distally, ready for injection. An extendable needle shield is also provided to block visibility of the needle during injection, and to reduce the risk of inadvertent needle stick at other times, including disposal.

Syringe gasket

Provided is a syringe gasket including a first member, and a second member connected to the first member and coupled to a plunger rod of a syringe. The first member includes a top face contacting with the liquid, and a first side circumferential face that faces an inner circumferential face of a barrel of the syringe. The first side circumferential face has, at an end portion thereof close to the second member, a ring-like trimmed face. An inert film is laminated on the top face and the portion of the first side circumferential face other than the ring-like trimmed face. The second member includes a second side circumferential face that faces the inner circumferential face of the barrel, and a ring-like protruding portion that projects outward in the radial direction from the second side circumferential face. The ring-like protruding portion at least partially covers the ring-like trimmed face.

Multi-chamber syringe

A syringe includes a syringe body, a first plunger, a second plunger, and an inner tube. The syringe body defines a syringe port in fluid communication with a syringe cavity. The first plunger is disposed within the syringe cavity and defines a first chamber in the syringe cavity, wherein the first chamber is in fluid communication with the syringe port. The second plunger is disposed within the syringe cavity, the first plunger and the second plunger cooperatively defining a second chamber in the syringe cavity. The inner tube comprises an inner tube lumen, wherein the inner tube and a first plunger shaft lumen of a first plunger shaft define an annulus therebetween, the annulus in fluid communication with a first plunger channel of the first plunger and the annulus permits fluid communication between the syringe port and the first plunger channel.

DELIVERY DEVICE

A delivery device for administering a drug includes a housing, a reservoir and a drive device with a movable piston rod. The piston rod is guided through an aperture in an inner or outer wall of the housing. The aperture is sealed but allows the piston rod to move. The shape of the circumference of the cross-section of the piston rod is approximately a non-trivial curve of constant width.
