INJECTION DEVICES
The invention relates to an injection device which includes a handle and a guard which together enclose a movable cartridge which can contain liquid material to be injected, and further enclose a movable injector that includes a needle, the needle being attached to a housing where the housing is attached to the cartridge, the device also including a delivery mechanism whereby the needle is moved from a retracted to an extended position, and independently the volume of the chamber may be adjusted to expel the contents thereof through the needle and into a subject in need thereof. The injection device may be communicatively connected to a control unit so as to provide a dermal injection system.
System Comprising a Drug Delivery Device and a Cartridge Provided with a Bung and a Method of Identifying the Cartridge
A system comprising a drug delivery device and a cartridge provided with a bung and and a method of identifying the cartridge
The present invention relates to a bung (20), to a drug containing cartridge (10) and to a drug delivery device, wherein the bung (20) comprises a coding feature (28) for carrying information regarding at least one of the cartridge (10) and the content of the cartridge (10). Furthermore, it relates to a method for identifying a cartridge (10) containing a medicinal product.
Gasket for prefilled syringe and prefilled syringe
A gasket for prefilled syringe according to the present invention is a gasket for prefilled syringe that includes a fluid contacting portion, a sliding portion with a circumferential surface, a film layer made of a fluororesin coated on the fluid contacting portion and sliding portion and further, and a coating layer including trimethylsiloxysilicate laminated on the film layer covering the sliding portion.
MEDICAL SYRINGE, GASKET FOR USE IN THE SYRINGE, AND METHOD OF USING THE SYRINGE
A laminated gasket to be inserted in a syringe barrel prevents leakage of a highly permeable liquid drug which may otherwise occur when an inert film of the gasket does not intimately contact an inner wall of the syringe barrel. The laminated gasket has a circumferential surface portion , a liquid contact surface, a bottom surface , and a threaded hole adapted to be in threaded engagement with a distal end portion of a plunger. The threaded hole has an internal thread provided on an inner peripheral surface thereof and including a plurality of periodic thread portions. Provided that an innermost periodic internal thread portion has a diameter Fl, that the other periodic internal thread portions each have a diameter F2 and that a distal one of periodic thread portions of an external thread provided on the distal end portion of the plunger has a diameter D1, a relationship F2>D1>F1 is satisfied.
Plunger retraction for leak prevention in injection device
An injection device includes a housing, a plunger, a drive gear and a release trigger. The plunger includes a leadscrew and a cap attached thereto where, in use, the cap engages a bung of a cartridge containing medicament. The drive gear within the housing engages with the leadscrew such that rotation of the drive gear around the leadscrew drives the plunger axially through the housing towards the bung. The trigger includes a locking ring having generally axially extending teeth for engaging with corresponding teeth on the drive gear. The trigger is generally axially movable between an engaged position where the teeth are engaged and prevent rotation of the drive gear, and a disengaged position where the teeth are disengaged and enable rotation of the drive gear. Movement of the trigger between the disengaged and engaged position causes counter-rotation of the drive gear and retracts the plunger away from the bung.
Auto-injector
There is provided a cassette unit suitable for use with an auto-injector. The cassette unit comprises a cassette unit housing and a removable cap that in a capping position fits over and thereby, acts to close off, a needle projection aperture of the housing. The cassette unit housing has one or more first engagement features arranged for reversibly engaging one or more second engagement features of the removable cap for reversible lock engagement of the removable cap to the housing; and a shuttle lock control defining one or more blocking elements for selectively blocking movement of said first engagement features relative to said second engagement features. The shuttle lock control is axially movable relative to the cassette unit housing between a first ‘cassette unused’ position; a second ‘cassette unlocked’ position; and after replacement of the removable cap, a third ‘cassette used’ position, locating intermediate the first and second positions.
Auto-injector
Provided is a cassette unit suitable for use with an auto-injector having an electrically powered drive unit. The cassette unit comprises a cassette unit housing defining a cassette unit housing cavity and a needle projection aperture. The housing cavity may receive a syringe. Axially movable within the barrel of the syringe for forward movement into contact with the syringe plunger, there is a plunger slaving part defining a circumferential wall arranged for frictional sliding relationship with the inner wall of the barrel, a rear drive-receiving face and a front plunger-contacting face. The plunger slaving part is arranged such that when a drive load is applied to its rear drive-receiving face to bring the front plunger-contacting face into contact with the plunger the drive load is evenly transmitted. The circumferential wall is provided with slide restrictors that restrict frictional sliding movement thereof in relation to the inner wall of the barrel.
IMPROVED DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE HAVING A PLUNGER WITH ADJUSTABLE LENGTH
Apparatus and methods of assembling apparatus (e.g. a pre-filled syringe). The methods comprising setting a length of a plunger rod of a plunger rod assembly, and fitting the plunger rod assembly to a barrel of the syringe, the barrel having an opening at a forward end thereof and comprising a bung positioned therein and creating a volume between the bung and the opening, the volume at least partially filled with a substance for delivery from the syringe. Setting the length of the plunger rod assembly may comprise at least partially inserting the plunger rod into the barrel such that a forward end of the plunger rod contacts the bung, wherein, after assembly, the length of the plunger rod defines a separation between the bung and the forward end of the plunger rod.
Fluid injector with syringe engagement mechanism
An engagement mechanism associated with a reciprocally movable piston of a fluid injector is configured for releasably engaging an engagement portion at a proximal end of a rolling diaphragm syringe having a flexible sidewall configured for rolling upon itself when acted upon by the piston. The engagement mechanism has a plurality of engagement elements reversibly and radially movable relative to the engagement portion of the syringe between a first position, where the plurality of engagement elements are disengaged from the engagement portion of the syringe, and a second position, where the plurality of engagement elements are engaged with the engagement portion of the syringe. The engagement mechanism further has a drive mechanism for moving the plurality of engagement elements between the first position and the second position.
Syringe
A syringe is provided, including a syringe barrel, a needle set and a push rod. A front end part is provided in the syringe barrel. An end of the needle set has an open area, the open area is transversely provided with a first snap part. The push rod is slidably disposed within the syringe barrel, and an end of the push rod facing the front end part has a second snap part. When the push rod is slidingly moved to the front end part, the second snap part is engaged with the first snap part.
