Method for Reducing an Amount of Subvisible Particles in a Pharmaceutical Composition
The invention relates to a method for reducing an amount of sub visible particles in a pharmaceutical composition contained in a medical injection device comprising a container (1) including a barrel (10) lubricated with a lubricant coating (2) in contact with the pharmaceutical composition, and a stopper (14) in sliding engagement within the barrel (10), the container comprising a region (130, 121, 123) extending distally from the distal end (100) of the barrel which is not accessible to the stopper. During formation of said lubricant coating (2) on the inner wall of the barrel, the method comprises limiting lubricant from being deposited into said region (130, 121, 123) extending distally from the distal end (100) of the barrel.
SEQUENTIAL DRUG DELIVERY SYRINGE
A dual chamber, sequential delivery syringe facilitates selective drug mixing, dosing, and administration through catheters or other vascular accessing devices (VADs), as well as post-administration flushing of catheters with a single syringe instrument. A syringe barrel incorporates an outlet, such as a Luer connector, a variable-volume, primary fluid chamber, and a secondary chamber that is pre-filled with fluid. A plunger manipulated, telescoping actuator, in conjunction with a medication stopper disposed within the barrel interior, form a valve for selectively isolating the secondary fluid chamber from fluid communication with the primary fluid chamber and/or the outlet of the syringe barrel. Valve opening is accomplished automatically by continuous advancement of the plunger.
Low waste syringe and needle assemblage
A low-waste needle and syringe assembly for injecting a fluid into a patient is provided. The syringe has hatch marks printed on the outer wall of the body to indicate the amount of fluid and/or the concentration of the fluid contained in a fluid chamber of the syringe. A syringe tip defining a substantially frusto-conical interior void extends from an end wall of the syringe. A needle hub holds a needle and is configured so that the hub can be selectively and securedly attached to the syringe. A frusto-conical member of the needle hub matingly engages the frusto-conical void of the syringe tip when the hub is secured to the syringe, forming a fluid-tight seal. A plunger positioned in the fluid chamber can be depressed by a user, and a piston cap attached to the plunger urges fluid in the chamber out of the chamber through the syringe tip and into the needle. The piston cap matingly engages the end wall of the syringe so that substantially all fluid is urged from the chamber to the needle.
Devices and methods for syringes configured to reduce or eliminate residual volume
The present disclosure relates to a syringe including a container, for containing a primary fluid, and at least one secondary fluid chamber configured to contain a secondary fluid. The container comprises a proximal end and a distal end and having a distal end opening at the distal end. The syringe further comprises a stopper, movably arranged within the container; and a plunger engageable with the stopper and configured to apply a force to the stopper to move the stopper within the container towards the distal end of the container, to expel primary fluid from the container through the distal end opening. The plunger is further configured to expel secondary fluid from the at least one secondary fluid chamber towards the distal end opening, to expel at least a portion of a residual volume of primary fluid through the distal end opening. A plunger system and assembly for a syringe and methods of expelling fluid from a syringe are also disclosed.
Patch injector with slidable joint
An injector including at least one fluid reservoir having a needle, a surface attached to skin and coupled to the fluid reservoir by at least a first joint and a second joint at least a portion of one of the joints being slidable or having interlocking arms. At least a portion of a path of translation of a slidable portion of the first joint and a portion of a path of translation of the second joint are angled in respect to each another.
SAFETY SYRINGE WITH SIDE COVER
A safety syringe with side cover includes a needle cap, an injection needle, a needle hub, a barrel, a plunger, and a side cover, in which the needle cap is used to cover the injection needle to prevent the injection needle from being polluted by the outside and protect the user from being stuck by the injection needle before use. The side cover is engaged with the needle hub. After the operation of injecting process is completed, the side cover is turned toward the direction of the injection needle, so that the injection needle is accommodated in the accommodating recess of the side cover, thereby the user or medical staff is prevented from being injured by the exposed injection needle.
INJECTION DEVICE WITH DOSING RESERVOIR FOR A FRACTION OF SOLUTION
An injection device (1) for an injectable solution (S) includes one tubular body (3) inside which at least one containment chamber (8,9) for the injectable solution is defined; one dosing reservoir (20) for one fraction of injectable solution (S); at least one plug (6,7) sliding into the tubular body (3) and including a protruding appendix (16) suitable for entering in the dosing reservoir (20) to eject said fraction of solution; one vent outlet (23) to eject said second fraction of solution. The device (100) includes an accessory (260) with one storing cannula (261) engageable with the vent opening (23), and provided with a first end (266) and a second end (267) between which a storing reservoir (261) for the second fraction of solution is defined. The device (100), that is particularly suitable for injecting very precise and reduced doses of an injectable solution, is for example of the single-chamber or double-chamber pre-filled type.
Spacer Assembly for Drug Delivery Device
A drive assembly for a drug delivery system including a plunger member configured to engage and move a stopper within a container, a biasing member configured to move the plunger member, and an adjustable spacer assembly positioned between the plunger member and the stopper. The spacer assembly includes a spacer element attached to the stopper and at least one shim or includes a spacer element and a holder to which the spacer element is attached. The holder may be attached to the stopper and the spacer element may be attached to the holder by a threaded engagement. Also, a drug delivery system for injecting a medicament, the system including a container configured to receive a medicament, the container comprising a stopper configured to move within the container and a closure, a drive assembly as described above, and a needle actuator assembly.
PROTECTING A NEEDLE POINT
A drug delivery device may include sterile needle covered by removable a sterility preserving protector. The device optionally includes skin contact surface and a needle protector for preventing a stick hazard upon removal of the skin contact surface from an injection site or angle without Removing completely. Optionally, the needle protector may include a shield that interferes with replacement of the needle protector. In some embodiments, the needle cover may interfere with deployment of the needle protector.
LOW WASTE SYRINGE AND NEEDLE ASSEMBLAGE
A syringe for injecting a fluid into a patient is provided. A syringe tip defining a substantially frusto-conical interior void extends from an end wall of the syringe. A hub is configured so that the hub can be selectively and securedly attached to the syringe. A frusto-conical member of the hub matingly engages the frusto-conical void of the syringe tip when the hub is secured to the syringe, forming a fluid-tight seal. A plunger positioned in the fluid chamber can be depressed by a user, and a piston cap attached to the plunger urges fluid in the chamber out of the chamber through the syringe tip
