Pre-filled safety needle and syringe system
A needle and pre-filled syringe system that provides ultra-low dosage waste and automatic needlestick protection. A syringe assembly is pre-filled with an injection material. A needle head assembly attaches to the syringe assembly. A spacer is disposed between the needle head assembly and the syringe assembly. The spacer has a central opening. The needle head assembly supports a needle with a needle base. When assembled, the needle base passed into the central opening of the spacer. The needle head assembly also contains a safety slide that can selectively cover the needle. During an injection, pressure and/or contact with the plunger head causes the spacer to contact and move the safety slide. The safety slide moves to cover the needle during the injection procedure, therein rendering the needle safe before the injection process is even complete.
INJECTOR SYSTEM
An injector including at least one fluid reservoir having a needle, a surface attached to skin and coupled to the fluid reservoir by at least a first joint and a second joint at least a portion of one of the joints being slidable or having interlocking arms. At least a portion of a path of translation of a slidable portion of the first joint and a portion of a path of translation of the second joint are angled in respect to each another.
Patch injector with slidable joint
An injector including at least one fluid reservoir having a needle, a surface attached to skin and coupled to the fluid reservoir by at least a first joint and a second joint at least a portion of one of the joints being slidable or having interlocking arms. At least a portion of a path of translation of a slidable portion of the first joint and a portion of a path of translation of the second joint are angled in respect to each another.
Bent fluid path add on to a prefilled fluid reservoir
An add-on for a self-injector including an adaptor and a bent fluid path is provided. The adaptor includes at least one coupling sized and shaped to couple the adaptor to a fluid reservoir. The bent fluid path is configured at a first end to penetrate tissue and coupled at a second end to the adaptor. The add-on coupled to the fluid reservoir forms an integral self-injector cartridge unit configured to be sterilized and filled with an injectable. The adaptor is configured to couple to a self-injector at least one of a plurality of reservoirs having different sizes and tip types.
Flush syringe having anti-reflux features
An I.V. flush syringe assembly includes a barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, an open proximal end and a distal end with a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. An elongate plunger having a proximal end, a distal end and a flexible stopper is slidably positioned in fluid-tight engagement with the inside surface of the barrel for drawing fluid into and out of the chamber by movement of the stopper relative to the barrel. The barrel includes anti-reflux structure for holding said stopper in a partially deflected position after fluid has been delivered from the chamber and the stopper is being force against the distal end of the chamber.
Cartridge with flexible bag for injecting a pharmaceutical solution and method for manufacturing the cartridge
A cartridge (10) for injecting a pharmaceutical solution includes at least one flexible small bag (18, 22) made of thin film walls, having a chamber (12, 14) containing a pharmaceutical substance (S, P, L) and having a head surface (37) being outwardly convex. A syringe (100) for injecting a pharmaceutical solution (S) includes a body (102) extended along a main axis (X), an accommodating space (120) to accommodate a cartridge (10), and a plunger (110) with a head (113) being dome-shaped and convex towards the space (120), preferably asymmetrical with respect to the main axis (X). An injection kit for injecting a pharmaceutical solution including a syringe (100) and at least one cartridge (100).
PLUNGER ROD AND ASSEMBLY HAVING MODIFIED THREAD GEOMETRY
A fluid-dispensing syringe includes a barrel and a plunger assembly disposed within the barrel. The assembly includes a piston with an outer piston surface, an inner piston cavity with an inner piston surface and at least one female thread, and proximal and distal piston ends. The plunger rod includes a rod body having proximal and distal rod ends, with a threaded extension extending distally from the distal rod end. The threaded extension extends distally along a distal length and threadedly engages the at least one female thread along a portion of the distal length. The threaded extension has a ventilation feature configured to create a ventilation space between the threaded extension and the inner piston surface. The proximal piston end and the distal rod end are in spaced relation to form a primary fluid passageway portion from outside of the plunger assembly into the piston cavity.
NEEDLE HUB AND SYRINGE ARRANGEMENT
The total volume of fluid in a syringe may not be equal to the total volume of fluid that can be pressed out of the syringe: a dead volume may be left in an arrangement of the syringe and a needle hub provided with the syringe. To reduce the dead volume, a needle hub and syringe arrangement is provided which are shaped complementary to each other. More specifically, a shape of an end-plane of a piston comprised by the syringe is complementary to a shape of a plane in which an opening of a cannula bore of the needle hub is provided. The shapes are such that the volume inside the syringe once occupied by the fluid may be occupied by the piston after fully pressing down on the piston, or only a substantially small volume of fluid may be left between the cannula opening and the syringe.
Medical Device Including An Air Evacuation System
Medical device assemblies capable of aspirating liquid into a syringe barrel or other medical devices while evacuating any air from the syringe are described. An exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within either the stopper or the plunger rod. Described is a medical device including a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within chamber between the stopper and plunger rod wherein the plunger rod includes a sealing edge and is moveable relative to the stopper. Exemplary medical devices may include a vent for allowing air that permeates through the porous portion to escape to atmosphere. Methods for aspirating a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
SYRINGE
A syringe (100) comprising a barrel (111) with a lumen is provided. The barrel (111) is adapted to contain a drug, the barrel (111) having a distal end wall portion (198) and a tubular wall (112) extending proximally from said distal end wall portion (198), whereby the barrel (111) extends along an axis (1000). The distal end wall portion (198) has an opening (199) extending into a syringe head (140) adapted to receive a syringe needle, said syringe head (140) having a lumen smaller in transversal cross-section than the barrel lumen; the syringe (100) further comprising: a plunger (196) extending along the axis, said plunger shaft being displaceable along the axis (1000) within said barrel (111).
