PUMPING MECHANISM WITH WIRE-PULLED PLUNGER
20220288302 · 2022-09-15 ·

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for causing the linear translation of a plunger through a reservoir containing a fluid. A flexible member, for example, a wire or a ribbon, is coupled to the plunger and extends through a wall of the reservoir toward which the plunger is being linearly translated. A pulling force on the flexible member caused by a drive mechanism causes the plunger to linearly translate toward the end wall of the reservoir, thereby forcing any fluid contained in the reservoir out of the reservoir through a fluid port.

DRIVE MECHANISMS FOR POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT PUMPS

A novel embodiment of a pump system, for example, of the type that would be used in a wearable drug delivery system, comprises, in a preferred embodiment, a reservoir, a plunger, disposed within the reservoir and driven by a scissor mechanism connected to a drive mechanism through a linkage, such that a force imparted by the drive mechanism in causes the scissor mechanism to expand thereby causing the plunger move within the reservoir to force a liquid drug contained within the reservoir through a fluid port to a patient.

INFUSION PUMP SYSTEM AND METHOD

Some embodiments of an infusion pump system may be configured to detect when at least one component of the pump system is exposed to an impact above a threshold level. In particular embodiments, the infusion pump system can be equipped with a drive system detection system configured to detect when one or more components of the drive system are damaged or inoperable.

Medicament delivery device with two drive springs
11273262 · 2022-03-15 · ·

A medicament delivery device includes a case, a first plunger, a second plunger arranged telescopically with the first plunger, a first drive spring biasing the second plunger relative to the case, and a second drive spring biasing the first plunger relative to the second plunger.

In or related to transdermal delivery

A needle delivery device (10) comprises a needle assembly (4, 5), a drive mechanism (2, 3) and a contact member (6). The drive mechanism (2, 3) includes a drive member (2) which is linearly moveable upon rotation of the drive member (2). The contact member (6) is positioned between and abutting the needle assembly (4, 5) and the drive member (2). The contact member (6) is configured to provide only linear motion to the needle assembly (4, 5) upon rotation of the drive member (2) so as to drive movement of the needle assembly (4, 5) between a distal and proximal direction relative to the needle delivery device (10).

Plunger assembly, drug solution dosage device, and driving method of plunger assembly

A plunger assembly of a drug solution dosage device includes a feed screw including a male thread portion and an extending portion, a first plunger including a first female thread portion, a second plunger including a nut accommodating portion, a nut member including a second female thread portion, and a base portion that guides the second plunger. The nut accommodating portion accommodates the nut member so that the nut member is non-rotatable and movable in an axial direction.

Telescoping syringe with one-way valve

A telescoping syringe suitable for use with medications and other materials is presented. The telescoping syringe includes a valve, a plunger, and a barrel. The valve further includes a barrier, an outlet(s) through the barrier, and an annular extension extending from the barrier. The plunger further includes an inlet(s) and a first side wall with a proximal wall. The barrel includes a second side wall with a distal wall at one end and an open end at another end. The plunger is extendable from and retractable into the barrel at the open end via slidable engagement between first and second walls. The valve directly contacts one end of the first wall so that an annular flange slidingly engages an annular groove. The valve and the barrel slidingly contact the plunger so as to open and to close the inlet(s) and/or the outlet(s). The inlet(s) in the open position permits gas to enter a first reservoir within the plunger as fluid is transferred from the first reservoir through the outlet(s) in the open position to a second reservoir within the barrel.

PORTABLE AUTO INJECTION APPARATUS WITH SHORT LENGTH
20220088307 · 2022-03-24 · ·

A portable auto injection apparatus with short length is provided. A portable auto injection apparatus with short length according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a syringe to store an injection solution; a piston coupled to one end of the syringe and driving to expand/contract to discharge the injection solution to an outlet formed at the other end of the syringe; a push member coupled to one end of the piston and driving the piston; and a driving unit coupled to the push member and driving the push member.

MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
20220062533 · 2022-03-03 ·

The present application relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing, a medicament container holder arranged to accommodate a medicament container, a needle assembly comprising an injection needle part and a penetration needle part, wherein the extension of the injection needle part and the extension of the penetration needle part are angled generally 90 degrees, a penetration mechanism arranged to move the needle assembly in a direction generally coinciding with the extension of the injection needle part between an initial position of the injection needle part inside said housing to a penetration position with the injection needle part extending outside said housing; a medicament container connection mechanism arranged to move the medicament container holder and the medicament container in a direction generally coinciding with the penetration needle part for creating a flow passage from the interior of the medicament container to an outlet of the injection needle part.

Coupling mechanism for a medication delivery device

A coupling mechanism for a medication delivery device includes a first part axially fixed relative to a housing and rotatable around a longitudinal axis of the first part, the first part having a gearing engagement to a second part arranged along the longitudinal axis, the gearing engagement having a first frictional resistance. The second part axially moveable along the longitudinal axis, and directly or indirectly in a friction fit engagement with the housing, which has a second frictional resistance. The first frictional resistance being below the second frictional resistance such that a rotation of the first part in a first direction axially longitudinally moves the second part away from the first part and a rotation in a second direction, opposite to the first rotation direction, reduces the axial distance between the first and second part and/or axially moves the second part into coupling abutment with the first part.
