INJECTION DEVICE WITH SAFE TRIGGER FUNCTION

An injection device is disclosed comprising a plunger for expressing medicament from a syringe and a delivery mechanism arranged in use to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger from a first rearward position to a second forward position to express a dose from the syringe. A latch arrangement is provided that releasably holds the plunger against the force of the delivery mechanism. The latch arrangement comprising at least two resilient segments which define opposing sections of an aperture within which a rearward end of the plunger is retained in the rearward position. A trigger is provided for releasing the plunger in use, the trigger being arranged to outwardly deflect at least one of the resilient segments such that the aperture is expanded to release the rearward end of the plunger. A method of manufacturing the injection device is also enclosed.

A syringe barrel including a tubular, barrel body operable to receive a syringe plunger at a proximal end thereof and a syringe needle at a distal end and sidewalls of said syringe body being flexible and elliptical in cross-section and opposing compression of said syringe barrel at opposite ends a major axis of said syringe barrel cross-section serving to operably flex the elliptical cross-section of said syringe body into a more circular cross-sectional configuration and increasing the volume of said syringe barrel body and concomitantly serving to create a relative vacuum within said syringe body as compared with the configuration of said syringe tubular, barrel body prior to application of said compression.

Film faced articles and methods of manufacturing the same

A sealing article for use with a fluid conveyance device comprises an elastomeric body including a first end defining a disk-shaped annular protrusion, and an annular recess formed in a sidewall thereof directly adjacent the first end of the body in an axial direction of the body. The recess is sized to receive at least a portion of the annular protrusion in response to the sealing article being inserted into an interior cavity of the fluid conveyance device. A barrier material is attached to or formed on a first end of the body and extends over the radial protrusion.

PLUNGER FOR SYRINGE AND PRE-FILLED SYRINGE INCLUDING THE SAME

A plunger for a syringe that includes a barrel includes: a gasket mounting portion located at a distal end of the plunger; a disk positioned at a proximal end of the gasket mounting portion; a shaft extending proximally from the disk, wherein the shaft comprises a plurality of slats extending proximally from the disk; a pressing portion located at a lower end of the shaft; and a plunger inclination-prevention unit that is located at a distal end of the shaft and is configured to inhibit the plunger from inclining inside the barrel of the syringe. The plunger inclination-prevention unit comprises one or more axially inclined plates, each having a first end disposed on the disk, extending obliquely proximal with respect to a central axis of the shaft, and having a second end disposed on one of the slats.

MULTIPLE CHAMBER SYRINGE PISTON AND MIXING DEVICES

A plurality of embodiments of mixing syringes are provided. Inventive key to all of the embodiments is a piston valve which divides a barrel to create a pair of chambers in which matter and liquid can be disparately and securely disposed before mixing. Each disclosed piston valve is actuated by force on an associated plunger rod which produces pressure within an associated syringe resulting in a change of the valve state from closed to open. In addition, each such valve comprises check valve action which is permissive to only distal flow through the syringe. Embodiments for both a basic mixing syringe and a mixing syringe with flush are disclosed. Considerations and methods for chamber filling without valve actuation are provided. A mixing syringe system with flush system utilizing a dual chamber syringe having a male luer fitting and a separate diluent containing vessel having a female luer fitting is also disclosed. In addition, a valve piston which comprises a proximally disposed skirt for providing an additional seal when the valve piston momentarily cants is disclosed. Further a valve piston, which comprises a plurality of rings, at least one of which is forced to further radially displace by a positive pressure differential applied against one of two opposing convex piston faces to thereby increase a seal between barrel wall and piston is disclosed.

Time-of-Use Activated Syringe Stopper
20180056006 · 2018-03-01 ·

A time-of-use activated syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel defining a chamber, a plunger rod having a forward attachment end located within the chamber of the barrel, and a stopper located within the chamber of the barrel and including a rearward end adapted to receive the plunger rod. The stopper includes a first perimetrical skirt extending around an outer circumference thereof and extending toward a front end of the stopper. An activation mechanism is associated with at least one of the stopper and the plunger rod, and the plunger rod is configured for transition between a pre-loaded position in which the activation mechanism is unactivated and a loaded position in which the activation mechanism is activated. Upon activation, the activation mechanism applies a radial force to the first perimetrical skirt causing the skirt to seal against an inner wall of the syringe barrel.

This disclosure is directed to a piston configured to be used with a dispensing syringe and a dispensing syringe having the piston. The piston has a body configured to be slidably positioned within an interior reservoir of the dispensing syringe. The body defining a wall that circumferentially surrounds the piston. The piston also has a wiper seal that extends outwardly and circumferentially from the wall. The wiper seal define a lip, a first portion, a second portion, and a junction that connects the first portion and the second portion. The second portion extends outwardly from the junction and away from the body to the lip.

Plastic Stopper

A stopper includes a main body portion defining an open rearward end configured to receive the plunger rod, an engagement portion provided along an inner circumference of the main body portion configured to engage at least a top portion of the plunger rod, a closed front end forming a flexible roof, and a first perimetrical skirt extending around an outer circumference of the main body portion toward the closed front end of the main body portion. When fluid pressure is increased inside the syringe barrel during an injection, the flexible roof expands in a radial direction toward an inner wall of the syringe barrel, the first perimetrical skirt is forced against the inner wall of the syringe barrel, and an engagement between the plunger rod and the engagement portion forces the main body portion to expand in the radial direction toward the inner wall of the syringe barrel.
