INCREMENTAL SYRINGE
An incremental syringe useful for multiple injections of medications like botulinum toxin is provided. The syringe includes detents on the syringe plunger which provide a tactile feeling, a discrete audible sound or click, or preferably both, for every unit of medication aspirated or injected to or from an individual syringe. Hence, there is no need to look at the syringe, or bring it to the eye level, during use thereof. In some embodiments, a second set of detents is included, and in some embodiments a third set of detents is included. Syringe plungers useful for combining with a syringe body to produce such an incremental syringe are also described.
PRECISION LOW-DOSE,LOW-WASTE SYRINGES AND ERGONOMIC ATTACHMENTS THEREFOR
Precision low-dose, low-waste syringe configurations have a reduced diameter lumen for dispensing 0.01 ml increments of contents. Plunger and lumen configurations and a needle interface eliminate dead space. Ergonomic attachments improve the control and precision of delivery of syringes. An attachment main body includes a gripping surface to permit a user to engage the attachment and move the attachment main body, and thus the syringe plunger relative to the syringe barrel using sliding movement. Optical enhancement features are provided on the attachment to improve the readability of gradations and plunger position. The attachment may be provided with an assist feature, which may be a traction wheel mounted on the attachment body. An alternative configuration suitable for syringe contents of higher viscosity may include a pair of toothed pinion gears on a wheel and which cooperate with respective toothed racks formed on or fastened to the syringe body.
INTRAOCULAR LENS INJECTOR
Intraocular lens (IOL) injectors are describe that include a rack and pinion to advance an IOL through the IOL injector and eject the IOL therefrom. IOL injectors described herein may also include a slide advance operable to advance an IOL from a storage location to a dwell location within the IOL injector.
Methods and devices for use in treatment of plantar fasciitis and fat grafting
Provided herein are devices useful in processing fat for fat grafting and for delivering fat tissue grafts to a patient. Also provided are devices and methods for fat grafting and for treatment of plantar fasciitis.
Device for injecting fixed quantity of liquid medicine
Provided is a device for injecting a fixed quantity of liquid medicine, to which a syringe may be mounted and which may inject the liquid medicine held in the syringe by a fixed quantity due to a user's pushing operation. The device for injecting the fixed quantity of liquid medicine is advantageous in that a user can operate the device with one hand to inject the fixed quantity of medicine into various areas, thus maximizing operability and convenience. Furthermore, the device is advantageous in that it is possible to maximize medicine delivery efficiency even when operated by a person who is not a medical staff not in a hospital but at home.
DOSE DELIVERY MECHANISM
An injection device comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis, a dose selector (16) capable of being rotated about said longitudinal axis with respect to said housing by a user to set a dose of medicament to be ejected from the injection device and a spring (20) capable of storing energy necessary for ejecting the dose of medicament from the injection device. The spring is coupled to the dose selector such that a charging force can be transferred from the dose selector to the spring to increase the energy stored by the spring. The injection device further comprises a ratchet arrangement (25) moveable between an engaged state in which the spring is limited from unwinding from a currently selected dose and a disengaged state in which the spring is able to unwind and a drive assembly including a plunger element (23) capable of providing an axial force for ejecting a dose of medicament from the injection device. The drive assembly further comprises a drive clutch (21) moveable from a disengaged state in which a force path from the spring to the plunger element is interrupted and an engaged state in which the drive assembly can provide the axial force for ejecting a dose of medicament from the injection device via said force path.
DRIVE TRAIN FOR DIAL OF A TORSION-SPRING ASSISTED WIND-UP INJECTION DEVICE
A drive train for a wind-up injection device is described. The drive train includes a torsional energy storage adapted to be loaded or unloaded by a rotatable element, a rotatable user handle, a rotationally driveable expelling mechanism adapted to expel the liquid drug, and a clutch element coupled with the torsional energy storage via the rotatable element and including a ratchet for maintaining the rotatable element at one of a number of discrete angular positions against the torque of the torsional energy storage. The clutch element is adapted to transmit the torque from the user handle to the torsional energy storage, or alternatively from the torsional energy storage to the expelling mechanism. The ratchet is switchable from one position to an adjacent position by a torque transmitted from the user handle to the torsional energy storage. The drive train is adapted to dampen torque peaks visco-elastically and/or visco-frictionally.
MULTI-CHANNEL ROTARY ENCODER
A rotary encoder includes a substrate, two or more switches disposed on the substrate, a mechanical wave generator, and a controller. The mechanical wave generator is disposed proximate to the substrate. The substrate and the mechanical wave generator are adapted to rotate relative to each other about a central axis. The mechanical wave generator has a profile shape that repeats circumferentially about the central axis. The profile shape has ridges and valleys that engage the two or more switches to activate and deactivate the two or more switches as the substrate and the mechanical wave generator rotate relative to each other. The controller is electrically coupled to the two or more switches to track activations of the two or more switches and digitally encode a rotational position of the substrate relative to the wave generator based upon the activations.
