DEVICE FOR SUBCUTANEOUS DELIVERY OF FLUID MEDICAMENT
An improved device delivers a fluid medicament to the subcutaneous tissue of a user. The device is better suited for patients with Parkinson's Disease and other central nervous system disorders, than conventional infusion devices. The device can include a reusable part including a drive component (e.g., motor) and control electronics and a disposable part including a medicament reservoir. Medicament can be evacuated from the medicament reservoir by a plunger assembly that includes a plunger attached to a lead screw that is rotated by a nut, all within the disposable part. The device can be fluidically coupled with the tissue via a flexible cannula. Various embodiments relate to an improved cannula insertion mechanism that delivers the cannula under a force applied by a spring. Various embodiments relate to improved filling of the device, for example, using a vial adapter and an automated filling station.
DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING A FLUID
A device for administering a fluid is provided, with a cylinder (16, 116) which has an open dispensing end (17), a piston (36) which is displaceable between a front and rear end position in the cylinder (16, 116) and is connected to a piston rod (35) that protrudes along a first direction beyond a rear end of the cylinder (16, 116) opposite the open dispensing end (17) and is guided in a receiving block (10), a nonreturn valve (18) closing the open dispensing end (17), and a tensioning device (S) which is connected to the piston rod (35, 135) and is arranged in the receiving block (10).
The tensioning device (S) has a ramp (52) which is rotatable by means of a motor (12) and has a ramp track (53) extending along a helical line, wherein the ramp track (53) ascends from a first plateau along a region of inclination (S1, S2) to a second plateau and descends from the second plateau to the first plateau via a transition flank (46).
The tensioning device (S) furthermore has a roller (51) which is in contact with the ramp track (53) and is mounted rotatably in a driver (50), which is connected to that end of the piston rod (35, 135) which protrudes out of the cylinder (16, 116), and therefore, upon rotation of the ramp (52), the ramp track (53) runs below the roller (51), which thereby rotates, wherein the roller (51) has a support region (55) which rests on the region of inclination (S1, S2) of the ramp track (53), and at least one laterally adjoining side region (56, 57) which has a smaller outside diameter than the support region (55) and which does not rest on the region of inclination (S1, S2) of the ramp track (53), wherein, during rotation of the ramp, both the support region (55) and the side region (56, 57) come into contact with an edge (54) of the ramp track (53), said edge connecting the second plateau to the transition flank (46).
DRUG INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE HAVING CARTRIDGE DRUG RELEASE STRUCTURE THROUGH SCREW COUPLING BETWEEN PISTON ROD AND ROD GUIDE
A drug injection control device allows a structure in which a piston rod moving with a rod guide makes a linear motion to stably inject a drug set through a dose dial. When an injection amount of drug is preset through an injection amount setting module configured to make a rotational motion with the dose dial in a housing to set the amount of drug to be injected by storing the twisting moment in a torsion spring, in actuating a drug delivery module switchably coupled to the injection amount setting module by an injection button on top of the drug injection control device, the rod guide is connected to the inside of the piston rod through a reset tube movably coupled to the injection button to allow a sub-linear motion of the piston rod.
DRUG INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE HAVING STABLE OPERATION STRUCTURE OF INJECTION BUTTON THROUGH BUTTON PLATE POSITIONED IN DOSE DIAL
A drug injection control device has a structure in which a rod lock screw-coupled to an outer circumferential surface of a piston rod can only make a linear motion under restricted rotation in a rod holder with the rotation of a rod guide and the sub-linear motion of the piston rod. When an injection amount of drug is preset through an injection amount setting module configured to make a rotational motion with a dose dial in a housing to set the amount of drug to be injected by storing the twisting moment in a torsion spring, a button plate is fixed and positioned in the dose dial to perform a function of supporting a button spring, and an injection button is slidably coupled through the button plate, so the injection button rotates simultaneously with the rotation of the dose dial, but allows a stable pushing operation through the button plate.
DRUG INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE FOR TEMPORARILY MAINTAINING TWIST OF TORSION SPRING TO WHICH ROTATIONAL FORCE IS APPLIED THROUGH DOSE DIAL
A drug injection control device includes a housing, a dose dial, a cartridge holder fixedly coupled to an opposite side of the housing, an injection button positioned in the dose dial, an injection amount setting module, and a drug delivery module, wherein the injection amount setting module includes a reset tube switchably coupled to the dose dial by the operation of the injection button, a ratchet tube coupled to an outer side of the reset tube to rotate at the same time, a scale drum which slidably rotates along an axial direction on an outer surface of the ratchet tube, a torsion spring having two ends coupled to the housing and the ratchet tube, and an anchor rotatably coupled to the ratchet tube and slidably coupled to an inside of the housing.
DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING A FLUID
A device for administering a fluid can include a cylinder, a piston displaceable in the cylinder and connected to a piston rod, and a tensioning device connected to the piston rod. The tensioning device includes a ramp rotatable via a motor, and a ramp track extending along a helical line. The tensioning device includes a roller which is in contact with the ramp track. To perform a tensioning procedure, the ramp track is rotated such that the roller runs on the region of inclination as far as the second plateau so the piston is moved to its rear end position. To perform a dispensing procedure, the ramp track is rotated until the roller runs over a transfer region and is accelerated toward the first plateau, thereby the piston is moved toward an open dispensing end. A control unit determines whether the tensioning procedure and/or dispensing procedure has taken place correctly.
Syringe and Method of Use
A syringe is disclosed. The syringe comprises a plunger and a barrel. The plunger can be rotated relative to the barrel to lock, unlock and/or translate the components relative to each other.
VERSATILE SYRINGE PLATFORM
Apparatus and methods for medicament delivery. The apparatus may include, and the methods may involve, a delivery device for delivering a target amount of the medicament from a distal end of the device. The device may include a rod for moving a plunger that discharges the medicament from the distal end. The device may avoid or reduce deformation of the plunger during the discharge. The plunger motion may be stopped by detent that interacts with the rod. The apparatus and the methods may provide an operator indication of progress of stages of operation. The device may feature triggers corresponding to stages of medicament displacement from the device, such as pre-delivery stages, including priming.

SAFETY SYRINGE WITH DOSE WINDOW
An apparatus includes a syringe body, a plunger, a cap, and a dose gauge. The syringe body defines a volume configured to contain a medicament. The dose gauge is disposed about at least a portion of a side wall of the syringe body, and defines a window. The cap is coupled to a proximal end portion of the syringe body, and includes an engagement portion. The plunger has a distal end portion configured to move within the volume to convey the medicament. An engagement portion of the plunger is configured to interface with the engagement portion of the cap to prevent rotation of the plunger about a longitudinal axis of the plunger. An outer surface of the plunger includes a series of indicia. At least one of the indicium is visible through the window when the plunger is in a first position within the volume.
