SMART VIAL ADAPTER AND METHOD
A smart vial adapter is capable of measuring the dose of a drug that is withdrawn from a vial, measuring the time of a dose capture event, monitoring the vial temperature, measuring the amount of motion or perturbation the vial is subjected to, capturing various other parameters that can provide additional insights associated with the drug or the amount of the dose being drawn from the vial, and communicating the recorded information to a companion application on a computer, smartphone or other device. Related methods are also disclosed and claimed.
FLEXIBLE MEDICAMENT INJECTOR AND METHOD OF USE
An injector device and method for use, and particularly a veterinary injector, is disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology, for example, is directed toward a veterinary injector including a flexible container configured to house a medicament, a plunger configured to be slidably received within a lumen of the container, a needle, and a stabilizer at the distal portion of the container and configured to be grasped by a user. The stabilizer can include a first flap extending away from the hub in a first direction, a second flap extending away from the hub in a second direction, and a third flap extending away from the hub in a third direction.
Plunger retraction for leak prevention in injection device
An injection device includes a housing, a plunger, a drive gear and a release trigger. The plunger includes a leadscrew and a cap attached thereto where, in use, the cap engages a bung of a cartridge containing medicament. The drive gear within the housing engages with the leadscrew such that rotation of the drive gear around the leadscrew drives the plunger axially through the housing towards the bung. The trigger includes a locking ring having generally axially extending teeth for engaging with corresponding teeth on the drive gear. The trigger is generally axially movable between an engaged position where the teeth are engaged and prevent rotation of the drive gear, and a disengaged position where the teeth are disengaged and enable rotation of the drive gear. Movement of the trigger between the disengaged and engaged position causes counter-rotation of the drive gear and retracts the plunger away from the bung.
Cap
The present disclosure relates to a cap assembly for a medicament delivery device comprising a cap body configured to be detachably mounted to a housing of a medicament delivery device, and a cap lid configured to be attached to the cap body, wherein the cap body is configured to receive a needle sleeve and the cap lid when the cap assembly is attached to a medicament delivery device, the cap lid comprising an anti-recapping element configured to prevent the cap assembly from being reattached to a housing of a medicament delivery device once the cap assembly has been removed and the medicament delivery device has been used, wherein the anti-recapping element comprises a projection configured to engage a needle sleeve of a medicament delivery device to prevent the cap assembly being reattached to a housing of a medicament delivery device once the medicament delivery device has been used.
Syringe holder for use in anesthesiology
A syringe holder includes a syringe barrel holder having a depression which is configured to receive and engage finger tabs of a syringe and has a bottom depression surface engageable by the finger tabs. A barrel opening receives a barrel of the syringe, and includes a central longitudinal axis, a shaft channel and a set screw channel having a screw axis passing through the shaft channel. A dosing shaft extends from a first end to a second end and includes a plurality of notches between the ends. The dosing shaft is located and slideable within the shaft channel. A plunger cap includes a plunger receptacle and attaches to a first end of the dosing shaft. A socket set screw is located and engaged within the set screw channel and has a resilient end engageable with the notches of the dosing shaft.
Drug injection device with deflectable transducers
The present invention provides a drug injection device (100) comprising a first element (140) and a second element (103) configured to undergo unidirectional movement relative to each other corresponding to an action performed on or by the drug injection device (100), wherein the first element (140) comprises a plurality of serially disposed protrusions (143), wherein the second element (103) comprises first and second deflectable transducers (103a/153a, 103b/153b) configured for sequentially cooperating with the plurality of protrusions (143), and wherein a processor (151) is electrically connected with the first and second deflectable transducers (103a/153a, 103b/153b) to register activation signals, wherein the protrusion configuration is so disposed on the first element (140) and the first and second deflectable transducers (103a/153a, 103b/153b) are so disposed on the second element (103) that a second activation signal generated by the second deflectable transducer (103b/153b) is delayed relative to a first activation signal generated by the first deflectable transducer (103a/153a) as the first element (140) and the second element (103) move relative to each other, and wherein the processor (151) is configured to provide a) a first control action if a time delay between the first and second activation signals is above or equal to a pre-defined value, and b) a second control action if said time delay is below said pre-defined value.
INTRAOCULAR INJECTOR
Provided herein are assemblies for and methods of intraocular injection. An injector assembly includes a housing defining an internal chamber and having a slot on an external surface thereof; a cannula needle having a lumen and a cutout on an outer surface; a flexible arm having a proximal end affixed to the outer surface of the cannula needle and a distal end having a hook such that the hook is disposed within the cutout; a pushrod slidably disposed within the lumen; and a latch slidably disposed in the slot of the housing, the latch coupled to the pushrod such that translation of the latch causes translation of the pushrod to thereby eject an implant disposed within the lumen between the hook and pushrod.
Multi-use disposable system and syringe therefor
A syringe including a syringe body extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a stabilizing element provided on the distal end of the syringe body, a portion of the stabilizing element extending substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the syringe body. A multi-use disposable set (MUDS) includes a plurality of syringes, each syringe having a syringe body, a proximal end, a distal end spaced apart from the proximal end along a longitudinal axis of the syringe body, a stabilizing element provided on the distal end, a portion of the stabilizing element extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the syringe body, and a manifold in fluid communication with the distal end of each of the plurality of syringes.

DETERMINATION OF THE USAGE STATUS OF A DEVICE FOR THE ONE-TIME ADMINISTRATION OF A MEDICAMENT
The invention relates to an apparatus for single administration of a medicinal product. The apparatus has a housing and a second component arranged for movement relative to the housing. During the administration of the medicinal product, the second component shifts from a first position relative to the housing into a second position relative to the housing. Fixed on the housing is a first magnetic element, and arranged on the moveable component is a second magnetic element. In the first position, the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element are close to one another (alternatively spatially separated from one another), and in the second position the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element are spatially separated from one another (alternatively close to one another), with the result that the magnetic field at the location of the first magnetic element is larger (alternatively smaller) when the moveable component is in the first position than when the moveable component is in the second position.
The invention also relates to a second apparatus having a magnetic field sensor for measuring the magnetic field at a predetermined position on the apparatus for single administration of a medicinal product, and for emitting a signal according to the measured strength of the magnetic field, and to a corresponding computer-implemented method.
