SIDE-ANGLE DECAPPING OF PRE-FILLED SYRINGE
An injector cartridge is configured for sterile storage and transfer of a fluid in a pre-filled syringe. The injector cartridge includes a first housing section and a second housing section and is configured to move the pre-filled syringe from a sterile storage position to a fluid transfer position upon linear displacement of the first housing section relative to the second housing section.
Electrical information device for communicating information related to a medicament delivery
An electrical information device and a medicament delivery device are presented. The electrical information device includes at least one start of delivery sensor configured to detect a distal axial movement of a release member of the medicament delivery device. The release member is configured to be distally moved when an activator member of the medicament delivery device 1 is forced distally. The electrical information device also includes at least one information communication unit, which is configured to communicate information related to the medicament delivery. The electrical information device further includes at least one activation unit, which is configured to activate the at least one information communication unit based on a detected distal axial movement of the release member.
Injection device with needle shield
According to the invention, an injection device (D) comprises a pre-filled syringe and a safety device. The pre-filled syringe comprises a barrel with an inner cavity in fluid communication with a hypodermic needle attached to a distal end of the pre-filled syringe and a piston fluid-tightly sealing a proximal end of the inner cavity. The safety device comprises a support body for retaining the pre-filled syringe therein, an outer body operably connected to the piston, a needle shield and a releasable retaining means (R). The retaining means comprises a radial projection and a longitudinal recess adapted to receive the radial projection. The radial projection is connected to or integral part of one of the support body or the outer body and a longitudinal recess formed into the other of the support body or the outer body. The needle shield, the support body and the outer body are telescopable relative to each other. The piston is movable in a distal direction to expel a medicament contained in the inner cavity through the hypodermic needle by a manual actuation of the outer body. A telescoping movement of the outer body with respect to the support body is restricted by the retaining means (R) when the needle shield is moved with respect to the support body in a proximal direction from an initial position (I) towards a retracted position (II). The retaining means (R) is released when the needle shield reaches the retracted position (II) allowing for a telescoping movement of the outer body with respect to the support body to expel the medicament contained in the pre-filled syringe through the hypodermic needle.
Auto-injector
An auto-injector comprising an elongate housing containing a syringe. The housing having a an orifice intended to be applied against an injection site. The syringe is slidably arranged with respect to the housing. A spring pushing the needle from a covered position into an advanced position, operating the syringe and covering the needle. An activator arranged to lock the spring prior to manual operation and capable of, upon manual operation, releasing the spring means for injection. A first gear arrangement and a second gear arrangement arranged for converting torque from a first end and a second end of the torsion spring into a translative force. The first end groundable in the housing while the second end acts on a plunger through the second gear arrangement for advancing the needle and supplying the dose.
Autoinjectors
An autoinjector includes a rear body assembly (10) connected to a front body assembly, wherein the rear body assembly (10) contains a drive mechanism (60 . . . ) and the front body assembly contains a syringe (13) or cartridge with a needle at its forward end, the front body assembly including a viewing window (22) through which at least part of the contents of the syringe (13) or cartridge are visible, a removable cap (14) fitted to the forward end of the front body assembly the rear body assembly and the removable cap having respective aligned cut-away regions together defining a frame for the viewing window. Also disclosed is a modular scheme which uses a common platform for the provision of a range of autoinjectors of different fill volumes, with only the length of the plunger (60), and the axial extent of the cut out varying between different versions.
Auto-injector
An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament (M) is presented having an elongate case arranged to be held by a user, a tubular chassis telescoped in the case and biased against the case so as to protrude from the case. The injector also includes a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding load of the drive spring to a stopper of the syringe. A trigger button is distally arranged in or on the case, wherein the trigger button is initially coupled to the case in a manner to protrude distally from the case and interlocked to the chassis in a manner preventing the trigger button from disengaging the case.
Pen needle assembly apparatus
A pen needle assembly apparatus (60) includes a housing (30), a movable support (40) for supporting a pen needle (18), an ejector (80) for ejecting a used pen needle from the support, and an actuator (56). The support (40) is rotated relative to the housing (30) to index the pen needles to a position where the pen needle can be accessed and coupled to a delivery device (10). The used pen needle (18) is returned to the well (42) in the support and the support rotated toward the ejector (80) where the used pen needle is ejected to a compartment (50) in the housing for disposal. A cover (60) on the housing includes at least one opening (65) for accessing the pen needle when the support is rotated to position a pen needle relative to the opening in the cover.
INJECTOR LOCKOUT PREVENTION DEVICE
A device that prevents the accidental activation and lockout of an autoinjector. In illustrative embodiments, a resistance unit is configured to resist deployment of the needle until a critical force is applied by the user to the autoinjector, at which point, the resistance of the resistance unit is overcome. Continuous application of force by the user after the resistance is overcome drives the delivery device to the injection site where the medication is administered.
SEGMENTED SAFETY COVER FOR NEEDLE DELIVERY
A segmented safety cover may include a proximal segment combined with a needle hub; a needle cannula that extends from the proximal needle hub to a distal sharpened end; a distal end cap with a hollow bore through which the needle cannula passes; a centrally mounted toggle locking mechanism, separating the proximal needle hub from the distal end cap; the toggle locking mechanism is torsion spring assisted; a proximal cover segment is connected to the hub via a proximal hinge and a distal cover segment is connected to the end cap via a distal hinge; said proximal cover segment and said distal cover segment of said toggle locking mechanism being configured with abutting faces when the segmented safety cover is in a safety mode; and wherein the proximal hinge, abutting faces and distal hinge are in line in the safe mode.
Pen needle dispensing apparatus
