DEVICE, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED DISPENSING OF PERIODONTAL MEDICATION
A device for the treatment of periodontal disease includes a handle that has a configuration familiar to dental professionals, and a detachable tip or cartridge, that is locked into the handle when use. The device provides for automatically delivering a single dose of medicament, such as a powdered preparation of antibiotic, to a periodontal pocket for treatment of infection or disease.
Needle tip arrangements
A needle tip (22) for being connected and disconnected in use from a needle tip support (16), comprises a needle (24) having a forward end and a rearward end and, a connector secured to the needle intermediate its ends. The connector comprises two arms (28) each extending outwardly and rearwardly relative to the needle (16) and configured to be coupled and uncoupled in use from said needle tip support, and the arms are disposed on opposite sides of the needle. Also disclosed are arrangements for storing, dispensing and later disposing such needle tips, as well as coupling interfaces between the needle tip and a needle support cap to which it is fitted in use.
Pharmaceutical syringe unit, pharmaceutical injection device equipped with said unit, injection needle attachment and removal fixture, and storage case
A pharmaceutical syringe unit is configured to be mounted to a pharmaceutical injection device main body and hold a pharmaceutical-filled pharmaceutical syringe, in order to mount the pharmaceutical syringe to a pharmaceutical injection device, wherein a syringe cover is configured to slide forward and backward with respect to a distal end cap by operation of the pharmaceutical injection device main body, thereby allowing movement between a needle insertion position at which insertion of an injection needle into a target is to be completed, and a needle withdrawal position at which withdrawal of the injection needle from the target is to be completed, and a guide component is configured to guide the syringe cover over a range that is greater than a distance between the needle insertion position and the needle withdrawal position.
Fluid transfer devices
A fluid transfer device may include a body member and a fluid transfer tip, wherein the fluid transfer tip may include a tapered friction fitting for a corresponding hub. The fluid transfer device also may include a disconnecting member having a front portion and a rear portion and engagement features operating between the disconnecting member and the body member. The engagement features engage with one another to inhibit the front portion of the disconnecting member from moving relative to the fluid transfer tip. The fluid transfer device is arranged such that upon application of a force to the rear portion of the disconnecting member, the disconnecting member deforms so that the engagement features are no longer in engagement with one another. This allows the front portion of the disconnecting member to move relative to the fluid transfer tip and subsequently release the hub from the friction fitting.
Hinged shield assemblies and related methods
Embodiments of the shield assemblies include a shield that is pivotably secured to a needle hub. A ball-and-socket hinge secures the shield and the hub to one another. The assembly includes a reversible shield lock to hold the shield in the needle-protected position.
PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY HAVING AN OUTER COVER
A needle hub assembly for coupling to a pen needle delivery device includes an outer cover having a first well receiving the needle hub and inner shield covering a cannula of the needle hub. A second well is spaced from the first well and receives the inner shield. In use, the pen delivery device is coupled to the connecting end of the needle hub to withdraw the needle hub and inner shield from the first well. The inner shield is inserted into the second well where the inner shield is gripped so that the inner shield can be separated from the needle hub without the user handling the outer cover or the inner shield. After use, the needle hub is inserted into the first well and the pen needle delivery device is separated from the needle hub. The needle hub is retained within the first well where the outer cover containing the used needle hub and inner shield can be discarded as a single unit.
Gripper Apparatus For Cannulas
The invention relates to a gripper apparatus for a cannulation robot and for gripping a cannula having a cannula holder. The gripper apparatus comprises two gripper elements and a moving device. The two gripper elements can be moved relative to each other and work in concert to grip the cannula holder. The moving device is designed to move the two gripper elements relative to each other and at least one of the gripper elements relative to the cannula holder. The gripper apparatus can thereby be brought into a gripping state, in which at least one of the gripper elements is engaged with the cannula holder, by means of the moving device.
SYRINGE NEEDLE RETAINER AND CAP ASSEMBLY
A syringe cap and needle assembly includes a needle retainer, a needle member secured within the needle retainer, and a cap. The needle member further includes an exterior needle end that extends outside of a forward end of the needle retainer. The cap is configured to slideably move with respect to the needle retainer between at least a first position and a second position. in the first position, the cap substantially surrounds the exterior needle end. In the first position and the second position, the cap substantially surrounds at least a portion of the needle retainer. in the second position, at least a portion of the exterior needle end is not surrounded by the cap.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE FOR DELIVERING A PREDEFINED FIXED DOSE
1. A drug delivery device for delivering a plurality of fixed doses of a medicament, wherein the drug delivery device comprises a needle magazine with a plurality of needle assemblies, a needle positioning mechanism, a drive mechanism for delivering a fixed dose of the plurality of fixed doses, in response to activation, an activation mechanism for activating the drive mechanism comprising a movable shield (110, 310), wherein the shield (110, 310) is adapted to activate the drive mechanism, in response moving the shield to the proximal position. The drug delivery device further comprises a drop lock mechanism comprising a non-blocking state and a blocking state.
AUTO-INJECTOR DEVICE
An auto-injector for hypodermic delivery of medication includes a first subassembly releasably coupled to a second subassembly. The first subassembly includes a cartridge holder configured to receive a medication cartridge, an injection needle through which medication can pass from the medication cartridge, and a needle shield movable between an extended position enclosing the needle and a retracted position in which a proximal end of the needle is not enclosed by the needle shield. The second subassembly includes a movable plunger rod positioned within a housing. Movement of the needle shield in a proximal direction from the retracted position to the extended position following administration of the medication automatically releases the first subassembly from the second subassembly. The released first subassembly is locked with the needle shield in the extended position. A new first subassembly containing an unused dosage of medication may be inserted and releasably connected to the second subassembly.
