SYRINGE DESTRUCTION
An apparatus for destroying syringes-needle assemblies is disclosed, the invention comprising a cradle for holding the syringe and a hub grip for gripping the hub of a needle affixed to the syringe. The apparatus comprises means for destroying the needle for example, by passing a current through it to soften/melt it, whilst at the same time, applying an axial compressive force to blunt and compress the needle. The hub grip is moveable relative to the cradle so that the needle can be pulled, unscrewed or otherwise detached from the syringe. The apparatus is preferably automated, and thus enables the destroyed needle and syringe to be separated, and therefore disposed of in separate waste streams without manual intervention.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SHARPS PROTECTION
Devices and methods are disclosed for protecting individuals from the sharp ends of medical objects following use on a patient. Such sharp objects include hypodermic needles, scalpel blades, cannulae, trocars, and the like. The protective cover is designed to surround and sequester the sharp in a shell that is will not permit further puncture or cutting with the sharp. In an embodiment, the protective cover also absorbs any fluids on or in the used sharp and prevents any fluids from escaping the protective cover. The devices are configured to be integral to procedure trays or kits such that space and discarded materials are minimized along with the potential for injuring someone with a used, contaminated medical sharp.
RECEPTACLE FOR SEVERING AND RETAINING THE NEEDLE TIP OF A HYPODERMIC SYRINGE
A receptacle for severing and retaining the needle tip of a hypodermic syringe includes a highly compact outer housing, which is shaped to define a substantially enclosed interior cavity, and a knife blade fixedly mounted within the interior cavity. The outer housing includes a flattened base and a hollow, hemicylindrical cover that are permanently secured together. In operation, the needle tip of a used syringe is inserted through coaligned, tear-shaped openings formed in both the cover and the knife blade. Through manipulation of the hypodermic syringe, the needle tip is drawn into contact with a sharpened, beveled edge that immediately defines the opening in the knife blade. Through the application of sufficient force against the sharpened edge, the needle tip is severed from the remainder of the syringe and thereby remains safely and securely retained within the interior cavity.
APPARATUS FOR DESTROYING SHARP OBJECTS AND METHOD OF USE
An apparatus for the destruction of needles and other sharp objects using electrical current. In addition to an incineration ports where needles are inserted for destruction, the apparatus also includes certain improvements related to the shape and composition of the electrical contacts, certain safety circuits related to power source overheating, and digital monitoring and control of current throughput to minimize sparking.

ANTI-CONTAMINATION NEEDLE REMOVING DEVICE
A needle removing device includes a seat, a driving assembly, a removal assembly and a lift assembly. The driving assembly is disposed on the seat. The removal assembly has one end thereof connected to one end of the driving assembly away from the seat, and includes a needle winding member and a pressing member. The needle winding member is located on one end of the removal assembly away from the driving assembly. The pressing member is connected to the needle winding member. The lift assembly is disposed on the seat. The driving assembly and the removal assembly are movable relative to the seat via the lift assembly. The needle winding member includes a first rod and a second rod, wherein the first rod and the second rod are adjacently spaced to form a disassembly space. The pressing member includes a first elastic element and a second elastic element. The first elastic element is connected to the first rod, the second elastic element is connected to the second rod, and the first elastic element and the second elastic element cause the first rod and the second rod to be inclined close to each other. The first elastic element and the second elastic element cause the first rod and the second rod to clamp the needle, and the first rod and the second rod rotate to wind the needle.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SHARPS DISPOSAL
Provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for disposal of medical sharps. In particular, provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for safe and efficient destruction of medical and research sharps (e.g., needles).
INDUCTION HEATING CIRCUIT FOR MEDICAL SHARPS REMOVAL DEVICE
Induction heating from an induction coil (108) is used to separate a metal medical sharp (144) from its holder (142) by applying a high-frequency oscillating magnetic field that excites eddy currents and resistance heating in the sharp. The heated metal sharp melts the adhesive or plastic securing the sharp to its holder. The use of induction heating is advantageous in that it does not require direct contact between the electrical circuit and the sharp or its holder. The heating can also act to sterilize the sharp and thereby render it less hazardous at the same time that it separates the sharp from its holder. The induction coil can have a stepped or conical shape to concentrate the RF energy at the interface between the metal sharp and its holder.
MEDICAL SHARP REMOVAL AND STORAGE DEVICE
An apparatus for entirely removing a medical sharp from a holder to which it is connected, including a body (102), a heating unit (104) disposed in the body, a receiving unit (114) fixedly disposed in the body and configured to receive the holder, and a collet (122) movably disposed within the body and configured to receive the medical sharp. The apparatus also includes a first biasing member (130) disposed within the body, and a user interface (136) coupled to the collet and configured to displace the collet away from the receiving unit, actuate the first biasing member to increase a bias on the collet toward the receiving unit, and actuate the heating unit.
Plastic injection syringe recovery and processing device
The invention discloses a plastic injection syringe recovery and treatment device, which includes a work box and a work chamber located in the work box. A feed port is provided through the upper end wall of the work box, and the front and back wall of the work chamber are rotated. A first rotating shaft is located on the lower side of the feeding port, a first squeeze barrel is fixed on the first rotating shaft, and the front and rear cavity walls of the working cavity are provided with a frontal shaft located on the right side of the first rotating shaft. There are two rotating shafts, and a second squeeze barrel is fixed on the second rotating shaft. The present invention can recycle the used plastic syringes, and the residual gas and water in the used syringes are firstly squeezed by a squeezing device. Squeeze out and compress the plastic syringe to reduce its volume, and then crush the syringe through the crushing device to heat and melt the crushed syringe. During the heating process, it also sterilizes the metal needle. Function, after heating and melting, the molten plastic liquid is separated from the metal needle, and the classification and recovery are completed.
