Retractable Needle Assemblies
A retractable needle assembly comprises a body portion, a needle having a patient end and being movable between an operational position in which the needle extends along a longitudinal needle axis with the patient end projecting forwardly from said body portion, and a safe position in which said patient end is retracted into said body portion, a deflector element rotatable about a deflector rotary axis generally perpendicular to said needle axis to move the needle to its safe position, and a manually operated deflector lever connected to or forming part of said deflector element, the deflector lever projecting from said body portion and intersecting a plane perpendicular to the deflector rotary axis and containing the needle axis.
Device for retaining and storing liquid media and method of expelling the liquid media
A device for retaining and storing a liquid medium, such as medication, includes a syringe body, a retention and/or storage container, consisting essentially of a glass material, a closure element for the retention and/or storage container consisting essentially of a rubber elastic material, and at least one needle. The retention and/or storage container is a vial having a solid bottom and a pushing device is provided to move the vial in a substantially axial direction in the syringe body, the pushing device acting upon the solid bottom of the vial.
SYRINGE AND SAFETY CAP ASSEMBLY FOR SYRINGE
The present invention relates to a syringe and a syringe safety cap assembly and, specifically, to a syringe safety cap assembly capable of preventing a user from being injured when a syringe needle is inserted into a cap and completely preventing reuse of the syringe or the syringe needle to be discarded. In addition, the present invention relates to the syringe having a valve member capable of filtering foreign substances during the inflow of a drug and restraining the filtered foreign substances from being discharged during the discharge of the drug, when foreign substances such as glass dust are mixed with substances such as a syringe drug. The present invention provides the syringe safety cap assembly comprising: an accommodation cap having a space into which at least a part of the syringe needle and a syringe body can be inserted and accommodated, and of which the shape is deformed so as to cause the shape of the syringe needle or the syringe body accommodated therein to be deformed when external force is applied; and a support part connected to the accommodation cap, thereby providing support power so as not to fall down when the accommodation cap is placed on the floor, wherein the support part has a curved outline, thereby guiding the accommodation cap so as to be ultimately erected on the floor while guiding the accommodation cap so as to swing left and right when placed on the floor.
MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL AND CONTAINER WASHING SYSTEM
A medical waste disposal and container washing system includes loading and unloading stations, the loading station configured for placing a medical waste container on a conveyor system. An inversion station is located downstream along the conveyor system, operable to reorient the container from a first orientation in which medical waste is retained to a second orientation in which the medical waste is discharged from the medical waste container by gravity as the medical waste container is moved within the inversion station. A first wash station along the conveyor system washes an interior of the container that has been reoriented. A second wash station is located downstream along the conveyor system.
Medical needle removal and storage device
An apparatus for removing a needle from a needle holder, including a grasping unit for selectively grasping the needle; a receiving unit for receiving the needle holder, displaceably disposed relative to the grasping unit; a biasing member biasing the receiving unit in a first direction; and separating means for separating the entire needle from the needle holder. Preferably, the needle is heated to melt, soften, or otherwise weaken a material and/or adhesive connecting the needle with the needle holder. Preferably the heating is electrical heating, including completing an electrical circuit through the needle and passing current through the needle, and/or passing current through a heating element.
NEEDLE HARVESTING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A needle removal device is provided for removing needles from suturing devices and/or systems. In an embodiment, the needle removal device may be intended for use with a suturing device having one or more needle lumens. The needle removal device may include a first member having a first plurality of needle receptacles extending therethrough. The first needle receptacles may be configured and positioned to correspond to one or more of the one or more needle lumens of the suturing device. The needle removal device may also include a second member having a second plurality of needle receptacles extending therethrough. At least one of the first member or the second member may be moveable between a first position, wherein the first needle receptacles and the second needle receptacles are substantially aligned, and a second position, wherein the first needle receptacles and the second needle receptacles substantially unaligned.
Phlebotomy needle destruction
An apparatus for processing a phlebotomy needle having a double-ended needle with a tub between its tips. The apparatus has a clamping electrode for contacting/clamping one end of the needle between the hub and tip and tip electrode for contacting the needle as its tip. A voltage is applied between the clamping electrode and the tip electrode, to soften/melt the needle via resistive heating, at the same time as the tip electrode is advanced to compress the needle tip and blunt it. The apparatus includes means for allowing the needle to be rotated through so that the first tip and the second tip can be blunted. Also disclosed is means for detaching the needle from a main body and/or for removing a cover covering one end of the needle. The apparatus enables a Vacutainer-type needle to be disassembled into its various parts and the needle rendered blunt and non-hazardous.
Needle harvesting devices, systems and methods
A method of removing needles operatively associated with suture through tissue surrounding an access tract, the method comprising advancing an elongate distal member along the access tract, locating an elongate proximal member in contact with tissue surrounding the puncture site, the elongate proximal member comprising a guide disposed within the elongate proximal member, a perimeter of the guide forming a plurality of needle receiving gaps that are circumferentially spaced about a needle deployment actuator with a portion of the guide disposed between adjacent needle receiving gaps extending outwardly towards a wall of the lumen of the elongate proximal member, the needle deployment actuator extending to the elongate distal member and being configured to initiate proximal movement of a needle toward an opening of the elongate proximal member, and actuating the needle deployment actuator to move the needle toward the opening of the elongate proximal member.
NEEDLE UNCAPPING DEVICE
A needle uncapping device enables safe removal and replacement of a syringe cap by securely engaging with the cap positioned in an opening on a top surface of the device, allowing an operator to uncap or recap the syringe with reduced effort and risk of accidental needle stick. When a syringe cap is placed in an appropriately sized opening, and the operator pulls the syringe upward, a lip positioned above the opening holds the cap in place, allowing the operator to expose the needle. The top surface of the device is angled downward and protrudes outward from the device body to shield the operators hand, and a base of the body protrudes outward to provide additional stability.
