The system further may include an applicator for inserting the cannula into the user’s skin and/or applying an adhesive pad to the skin.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE

A method for preparing a pre-filled multi-chamber injection system includes providing an injection system body, the injection system body defining an open proximal end, a body interior, and an open distal end. The method also includes introducing a first substance into a distal end of the body interior. The method further includes disposing a distal stopper member in the body interior, the distal stopper member and the injection system body defining proximal and distal chambers in the body interior. Moreover, the method includes introducing a second substance into the body interior. In addition, the method includes disposing a proximal stopper member in the body interior. The method also includes inserting an elongate member at least partially into the body interior, the elongate member having a plurality of flow channels for fluidly coupling the proximal and distal chambers. The method further includes coupling a plunger member to the proximal stopper member.

Safety syringe having a manually activated retractable needle

A retractable needle assembly includes a housing having a sidewall defining a hollow bore, and an elongate plunger, the distal end of the plunger forming a reservoir within the hollow bore for containing a fluid therein. The plunger is adapted for slideable movement within the hollow bore. The assembly includes a hub disposed within the hollow bore and at least partially supporting a cannula therewith, and a needle retraction member engaged with the hub for manually selectable advancement with respect to a portion of the housing. The needle retraction member may be advanced from an initial position in which at least a portion of the needle is disposed outside the housing, to a retracted position in which the needle is fully surrounded by the housing. The elongate plunger may be advanced about the hub for extracting the fluid into the reservoir or expelling the fluid from the reservoir.

Fluid delivery device, transcutaneous access tool and insertion mechanism for use therewith

Disclosed is a fluid delivery device including a fluid reservoir and a transcutaneous access tool fluidly coupled to the fluid reservoir, wherein the transcutaneous access tool includes a needle or a trocar. The fluid delivery device may further include a transcutaneous access tool insertion mechanism for deploying the transcutaneous access tool, wherein the insertion mechanism is configured to insert and retract the needle/trocar in a single, uninterrupted motion.

FLUID INJECTION DEVICE FOR INJECTING A FLUID BEHIND THE TYMPANIC MEMBRANE

Fluid injection device for injecting a fluid behind a tympanic membrane of a patient, comprising: a hollow needle having a needle tip with a fluid outlet at a distal end thereof, the needle tip being configured for piercing the tympanic membrane of the patient; a container for storing the fluid to be injected behind the tympanic membrane, the container being arranged in fluid communication with the hollow needle; characterised, in that the hollow needle comprises an elongated venting aperture in an outer wall thereof, the elongated venting aperture being positionable at an inner side of an ear membrane of the patient as well as at an outer ide of said ear membrane when injecting fluid, so as to allow excess fluid on the inner side of said membrane to flow through the elongated venting aperture, to the outer side of said membrane.

ENDOLUMINAL DELIVERY CANNULA AND ASSEMBLY, AND RELATED METHODS

This disclosure is for an endoluminal delivery cannula, for delivery of a substance to an extravascular target site via the vascular system of a human or animal body, wherein the cannula comprises a proximal cannula hub, an elongated proximal, and a tip portion. The tip is tapered towards the distal tip which is preferably provided with a pointed tip for penetrating tissue. The pointed tip may comprise at least one primary facet and two secondary facets, wherein the two secondary facets are arranged proximally of said primary facet. An endoluminal delivery assembly comprises the cannula, a protective catheter adapted for insertion into the vascular system of a human or animal body, and a proximal catheter hub provided at the proximal end of the catheter and adapted for guiding the catheter through the vascular system.

Described here are systems and methods for accessing Schlemm's canal, for delivering a fluid composition therein, and for tearing the trabecular meshwork. The fluid composition may be a viscoelastic fluid that is delivered into the canal to facilitate drainage of aqueous humor by disrupting the canal and surrounding trabeculocanalicular tissues. The systems described here may be configured to cut or tear the trabecular meshwork with the body of an elongate member located within Schlemm's canal.

Distal needle and stylet tips

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses and methods for using a tip member to deposit or collect a supply of material from within a body. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a tip body defining an annular chamber. A tip receptacle is configured to be joinable with a lumen and to receive a fluid flow therethrough and to convey the fluid flow into the annular chamber. A material distribution element is fluidly coupled with the annular chamber, wherein when the fluid flow is introduced into the annular chamber. The material distribution element diffusively passes the fluid flow out of multiple egress points in at least one of a distal end and a lateral surface of the tip body.
