Needle arrangement
11793943 · 2023-10-24 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a needle arrangement for a drug delivery device. The needle arrangement includes a distal needle tip and a proximal needle tip. The distal needle tip is held in a distal needle holder and wherein the proximal needle tip is held in a proximal needle holder. The distal needle tip and the proximal needle tip are in fluid communication with each other through a fluid channel. The fluid channel is adapted to allow axial movement of the distal needle tip and relative to the proximal needle tip between a compact state and an extended state. A length of the needle arrangement over the distal needle tip and the proximal needle tip in the extended state is greater than in the compact state.

Flow communication unit with preservative

An assembly includes a sealed drug reservoir unit, a subcutaneous flow conducting device in the form of a needle unit or an infusion set, and a flow communication unit. The flow communication unit includes a proximal hollow needle adapted to penetrate a needle-penetrable septum of the reservoir, a first flow-way inflow communication with the proximal needle and comprising a pressure-controlled valve, a second flow-way in flow communication with the first flow-way, an amount of preservative arranged to react with a substance received by the second flow-way, and distal flow communication structure adapted to provide flow communication between the second flow-way and the needle unit. The valve is controlled to open when the reservoir is pressurized, the preservative being provided to react with substances introduced to the second flow way via the needle unit.

Fluid exchange apparatus for expandable port delivery system and methods of use

A device for injecting a therapeutic agent into an ocular implant at least partially implanted in an eye including an injection lumen providing a pathway for injecting the therapeutic agent into the implant; an outlet lumen providing a pathway for pre-existing fluid in the ocular implant to exit the implant; and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the outlet lumen that provides a first fluid outflow resistance and a second fluid outflow resistance. The first fluid outflow resistance is lower than a first resistance to outflow of the implant. The second fluid outflow resistance is greater than a force imparted onto the implant by intraocular pressure of the eye. Injection of therapeutic agent into the implant via the injection lumen causes the pre-existing fluid to exit the implant and enter the collection chamber via the outlet lumen and causes a second pre-existing fluid to displace from the collection chamber.

PEN NEEDLE APPARATUS

A pen needle is disclosed for coupling to a delivery device and piercing a septum on the delivery device. The pen needle includes a collar having a side wall, an open proximal end, and a distal end having a coupling member, a needle hub rotatable independently of the collar, where the proximal end of the needle hub has a coupling member coupled to the distal end of the collar. The collar rotates independently from the needle hub so that the collar screws onto the threaded end of the delivery device while the needle hub does not rotate and the needles advance to pierce a septum of the delivery device without rotating the hub and the needles.

The present invention provides a system for preparing active agents for personalized treatment of a subject, wherein the system comprises a housing enclosing an interior space; an inventory structure comprising a plurality of chambers, wherein each chamber is capable of holding a dual-function syringe comprising a predetermined agent to be administered; means for selecting one or more dual-function syringes according to the predetermined active agent; means for moving the selected dual-function syringe to a desired location for transferring of the predetermined agent from the dual-function syringe to a product container or carrier; and means for sequentially transferring a controlled quantity of the predetermined agent from each selected dual-function syringe to the product container or carrier under positive or negative pressure.

Pen needle magazine

An attachable needle assembly (2) is disclosed for use on a medication delivery pen (4). The needle assembly (2) includes a housing (8) enclosing a hub (12) that is configured to engage the medication delivery pen (4), a plurality of needles (18) configured to pierce a reservoir septum (6) of the medication delivery pen (4), a selection ring insert (30) that rotates and identifies which needle (24) of the plurality of needles (18) is to be selected, and a selection ring (36) that applies a force to expose the selected needle (24). When the housing (8) is in a first position, the plurality of needles (18) is not exposed, and when the housing (8) is in a second position, one of the plurality of needles (24) is exposed for medicament delivery.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE

A system for serially injecting liquids includes a syringe body, proximal and distal stopper members disposed in the syringe body, a first liquid in a distal chamber, a second liquid in a proximal chamber, a plunger member, and a needle hub assembly coupled to a distal needle interface of the syringe body. The plunger member includes a needle retention feature disposed in a plunger interior, an energy-storage member disposed in the plunger interior, and an energy-storage member latching member disposed in the plunger interior. The needle assembly includes a needle having a needle proximal end feature, a hub, and a needle latching member configured to couple the needle to the hub. Manipulating the plunger member to insert the proximal stopper member distally relative to the syringe body initially expels the first liquid, then the second liquid. The needle is at least partially retractable into plunger interior.

The present invention relates to a syringe, and more particularly, to an apparatus obtained by improving an conventional syringe formed with an injection flow passage including an injection needle, so as to share a portion of the injection flow passage except the injection needle or to form a suction flow passage completely independent of the injection flow passage, thereby further smoothing suction of a liquid medicine. The syringe is configured such that the separate suction flow passage bypassing the injection needle is formed in an conventional syringe to more smoothly perform the suction of the liquid medicine, thereby maximizing user's convenience and marketability of the product.
