Syringe assembly

Syringe assemblies including a syringe pre-equipped with an integral liquid drug administration device for enabling administration of liquid drug contents and a drug vial adapter for telescopic mounting on a drug vial containing liquid drug contents. The drug vial adapter is initially mounted on the syringe and is intended to be manually detached therefrom to expose the integral liquid drug administration device. The syringe includes a flow control member having an initial flow path position for enabling filling the syringe with liquid drug contents from the drug vial and a final flow path position for enabling administration of liquid drug contents. Detachment of the drug vial adapter from the syringe urges the flow control member from its initial flow path position to its final flow path position.

A microneedle injection and infusion apparatus, and a method of using same. The apparatus can include a housing, a microneedle array holder for holding a microneedle array, and a shuttle that holds a cartridge (e.g., that contains an active agent). The microneedle array holder can be movable between a retracted position and an extended position. The shuttle can be movable between a first position in which the cartridge is not in fluid communication with a fluid path and a second position in which the cartridge is in fluid communication with the fluid path. The apparatus can further include an actuator movable between a first position and a second position. The method can include moving the actuator to its second position to allow the shuttle to move toward its second position, wherein movement of the shuttle toward its second position allows the microneedle array holder to move to its extended position.

NEEDLE STORAGE MAGAZINE WITH STATUS INDICATION

A magazine (18) that stores a plurality of needles (56) configured to engage a medication pen (2) for medication delivery, the magazine (18) comprising a magazine housing (20) enclosing a removable array (26) having a plurality of hub chambers (22) each enclosing one of a plurality of needle hubs (50), a connector (28) in each of the plurality of huh chambers (22), each connector (28) engages one of the plurality of needle hubs (50), a plurality of peel tabs (30) each sealing one of the plurality of hub chambers (22), and an electronic indicator (62) to identify a status of the plurality of needle hubs (50), wherein the electronic indicator (62) identifies how many of the plurality of needle hubs (50) are unused.

Modified veress needle for tension pneumothorax decompression

Disclosed are devices and methods for treating tension pneumothorax. A needle assembly may include an outer cannula defining a lumen and having a distal end portion with a sharp bevel, and an inner cannula slidably-disposed through the lumen of the outer cannula. The inner cannula moves between an extended and retracted position and includes a blunt distal end portion configured to extend beyond the sharp bevel of the outer cannula when the inner cannula is in the extended position. The blunt distal end portion can retract within the lumen of the outer cannula when the inner cannula is in the retracted position, thereby exposing the sharp bevel. The needle assembly further includes a bias disposed inside the housing and coupled to the inner cannula. A proximal end portion of the inner cannula is configured to extend through the housing when the inner cannula is in the retracted position.

FLOW COMMUNICATION UNIT WITH PRESERVATIVE

An assembly comprises a sealed drug reservoir unit, a subcutaneous flow conducting device in the form of a needle unit or an infusion set, and a flow communication unit. The flow communication unit comprises a proximal hollow needle adapted to penetrate a needle-penetrable septum of the reservoir, a first flow-way inflow communication with the proximal needle and comprising a pressure-controlled valve, a second flow-way in flow communication with the first flow-way, an amount of preservative arranged to react with a substance received by the second flow-way, and distal flow communication means adapted to provide flow communication between the second flow-way and the needle unit. A combined flow way can be established between the reservoir and the needle unit via the first and second flow-ways when the units are connected. The valve is controlled to open when the reservoir is pressurized, the preservative being provided to react with substances introduced to the second flow way via the needle unit.

Liquid drug-filtering filter medium and filter module
10695486 · 2020-06-30 · ·

A liquid drug-filtering filter medium is provided, which can include a nanofiber web having a three-dimensional network structure for filtering foreign substances included in a liquid drug. According to the embodiment, the occurrence of differential pressure when drawing in and filtering a liquid drug is minimized, and thus the liquid drug may be quickly drawn into a syringe cylinder within a short time and by applying small force, and at the same time, the filtration rate of foreign substances in the liquid drug is very outstanding. A method for producing the liquid drug-filtering filter medium is also provided, which enables the very easy adjustment of a pore structure of the filter medium or the diameters of the pores in order to enable the pore structure to minimize the occurrence of differential pressure or change the differential pressure to a target level.

A dual-needle syringe capable of preventing infection, including: an infusion needle shaft (3) configured to aspirate a liquid from a drug container (30); an injection needle shaft (5) having a sharp point of one end inserted into a body, and the other end connected to the syringe (10), through which the liquid filled in the syringe (10) is injected into a body; a hub barrel (7) engaged to a barrel (15) of the syringe (10) to infuse the liquid, which is aspirated from the drug container (30) through the infusion needle shaft (3), into the syringe (10) through the injection needle shaft (5), the hub barrel having an infusion needle shaft hub (21) and an injection needle shaft hub (23) which can be separated from each other before the liquid is injected; and a filter (9) configured to filter foreign substances contained in the liquid.

DUAL-COMPARTMENT VITREOUS BODY INJECTOR
20200179606 · 2020-06-11 ·

A syringe for injection of fluid into the vitreous humor of an eye has a body that has, formed therein, an injection barrel and an extraction barrel, both of which have volumes that vary in response to movement of primary and secondary plungers that, are coupled to each other by a coupler. Two parallel needles, an extraction needle and an injection needle, emerge from the distal end of the body. Movement of the primary plunger injects fluid into the vitreous humor while at the same time causing the secondary plunger to extract the same volume of fluid from the vitreous humor, thus maintaining intraocular pressure.
