A cartridge carrier assembly for a medicament delivery device comprises a cartridge carrier adapted to receive a cartridge defining a cavity containing a dose of a medicament, a needle hub being part of the cartridge carrier or coupled to the cartridge carrier such that the needle hub is fixed relative to the cartridge carrier, the needle hub adapted to receive a distal end or part of the cartridge, an injection needle having a tipped proximal needle section adapted to pierce a sealing element distally arranged on the cartridge, and a removable needle cap attachable to a distal end of the cartridge carrier. The needle hub comprises a cartridge retention feature adapted to abut the cartridge or a part thereof to limit axial movement of the cartridge in the distal direction such that the proximal needle section is spaced from the sealing element.

A safety device includes a ring configured to be attached to a distal tip of a medical injection device and a protective shield movably coupled to the ring and configured to adopt a storage position covering the needle tip, an operative position uncovering the needle tip, and a safety position covering the needle tip A protective cap is mounted on the ring to cover the needle tip, and can be separated from the ring prior to use of the device. A retaining system includes a first retaining portion on the protective shield and a second retaining portion on the protective cap, with the first and second retaining portions cooperating in the storage position to prevent the protective shield from moving to its operative position. A releasing system releases the retaining system and is configured to be activated by a manual inward pressure exerted on the protective cap.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLUID DELIVERY

The invention provides for a delivery system including a delivery assembly configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient.

Pen needle hub with a patient contact surface

A needle-bearing hub for a pen needle is provided with a distal patient-facing side having an enlarged surface for contact with the subject's skin. The enlarged surface is provided with a radius of curvature that increases the likelihood that the needle reaches full injection depth when an injection is performed at an inclined angle with respect to the surface of the skin and with to the desired depth less discomfort to the patient.

Safety assembly

The invention relates to a safety assembly for preventing needle stick injury with a needle having a proximal end fixed to a tip of a medical container and a pointed distal end, the safety assembly having: an attachment ring fixed to the tip of the container and a safety device to cover at least the distal end of the needle, the safety device attached to the attachment ring. The safety assembly has an attachment ring having an inner ring and an outer ring to be snapped onto each other, the inner ring having an inner recess for applying glue between the inner ring and the tip, and the inner ring and outer ring having mutually engaging elements preventing any rotation of the outer ring relative to the inner ring.

PEN NEEDLE

A pen needle (10) includes a hub (12) supporting a needle (30), an inner shield (14) enclosing the distal end of the needle, and an outer cover (16). The outer surface of the hub can include ribs (66) that cooperate with ribs (72) on the inner surface of the outer cover to assist in attaching the pen needle to a delivery device while preventing over torqueing or over tightening. In one embodiment, the inner shield (14) has a dimension to attach to the distal end of the hub (12) after use to enclose the proximal, non-patent end of the needle. In another embodiment, the outer cover (16) includes a closure member that can be removed during use and re-attached after use to cover the proximal end of the needle.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CHECKING AN ADHESIVE CONNECTION BETWEEN A HOLLOW NEEDLE OR CANNULA AND A HOLDING PART
20220249782 · 2022-08-11 ·

A method is described for checking an adhesive connection between a hollow needle or cannula of a medical syringe and a holding part, wherein the hollow needle or cannula is inserted with play in a holding portion of the holding part, and an intermediate space between the hollow needle or cannula and the holding portion is at least partially filled with an adhesive body. The adhesive body is detected by means of an optical detection device in the form of a camera, and the detection device transmits image data relating to the adhesive body to an evaluation unit in which the data are evaluated. The ACTUAL volume and/or the ACTUAL configuration of the adhesive body is determined from the image data of the adhesive body and compared with a TARGET volume and/or a TARGET configuration of the adhesive body.

The invention provides for a delivery system including a delivery assembly configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient. The delivery assembly generally includes a modular design consisting of separately constructed components cooperatively arranged and coupled to one another. The modular construction allows for rapid manufacturing reconfigurations of one or more components with minimal costs to create new delivery assembly configurations that meet specific needs (i.e., different modes of delivery depending on agent to be delivered, such as subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous injection, spray, or droplet delivery). The delivery assembly is generally configured to be filled on-site and in the field and is further capable of delivery of the agent in a controlled manner and without requiring specialized skill in administering delivery of such agent.

PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY

A needle hub assembly for a pen needle includes a needle hub, an inner shield and an outer cover. The open end of the outer cover is closed by a removable seal to access the needle hub. The needle hub has a body with a shoulder and a tower extending from the body for supporting a cannula. The inner shield fits over the tower and the cannula and includes a flange that has an outer dimension complementing the outer dimension of the needle hub and contacts the shoulder of the needle hub in the assembled condition. The outer cover encloses the needle hub and the inner shield and includes a stop member on an inner surface that contacts the flange of the inner shield to capture the inner shield between the shoulder of the needle hub and the outer cover.
