PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle hub assembly for a pen needle includes a needle hub, an inner shield and an outer cover. The open end of the outer cover is closed by a removable seal to access the needle hub. The needle hub has a body with a shoulder and a tower extending from the body for supporting a cannula. The inner shield fits over the tower and the cannula and includes a flange that has an outer dimension complementing the outer dimension of the needle hub and contacts the shoulder of the needle hub in the assembled condition. The outer cover encloses the needle hub and the inner shield and includes a stop member on an inner surface that contacts the flange of the inner shield to capture the inner shield between the shoulder of the needle hub and the outer cover.
Method for producing a syringe having a piercing means
The invention relates to a method for producing a syringe having a piercing means, comprising the following steps: a) providing a syringe body having a distal end section, which comprises an inner channel that discharges at a distal opening, wherein the distal end section is in a formable state; b) providing a piercing means; c) inserting a proximal section of the piercing means through the distal opening into the inner channel of the distal end section; and d) shaping the distal end section by means of a first shaping tool in such a way that an inner surface of the distal end section contacts at least portions of the piercing means, as a result of which at least portions of the piercing means are secured.
Safety Assembly
The invention relates to a safety assembly for preventing needle stick injury with a needle having a proximal end fixed to a tip of a medical container and a pointed distal end, the safety assembly having: an attachment ring fixed to the tip of the container and a safety device to cover at least the distal end of the needle, the safety device attached to the attachment ring. The safety assembly has an attachment ring having an inner ring and an outer ring to be snapped onto each other, the inner ring having an inner recess for applying glue between the inner ring and the tip, and the inner ring and outer ring having mutually engaging elements preventing any rotation of the outer ring relative to the inner ring.
STERILIZED TISSUE PRODUCTS AND RELATED METHODS
Disclosed are products having animal tissue packed within the lumen of a device such as a needle cannula. The needle cannula or other device can be received in a capsule and/or other container. Methods of use of the products are also described and can include ejecting the animal tissue from the lumen of device using pressurized liquid passed through the lumen, potentially to deliver the animal tissue directly into a patient. Methods of manufacture of the products are also described.
Cartridge Carrier Assembly
A cartridge carrier assembly for a medicament delivery device comprises a cartridge carrier adapted to receive a cartridge defining a cavity containing a dose of a medicament, a needle hub being part of the cartridge carrier or coupled to the cartridge carrier such that the needle hub is fixed relative to the cartridge carrier, the needle hub adapted to receive a distal end or part of the cartridge, an injection needle having a tipped proximal needle section adapted to pierce a sealing element distally arranged on the cartridge, and a removable needle cap attachable to a distal end of the cartridge carrier. The needle hub comprises a cartridge retention feature adapted to abut the cartridge or a part thereof to limit axial movement of the cartridge in the distal direction such that the proximal needle section is spaced from the sealing element.
CONTAINER WHICH CAN BE PREFILLED OR IS PREFILLED WITH FLUID, AS WELL AS A CANNULA ASSEMBLY AND CLOSURE SYSTEM FOR A CONTAINER WHICH CAN BE PREFILLED OR IS PREFILLED WITH FLUID
A pre-Tillable or prefilled container for at least one of storage or application of a fluid includes: a receptacle having a chamber for accommodation of the fluid; a cannula assembly including a cannula and a sealing element, the cannula having an outside channel opening, the cannula assembly being attachable to the receptacle; and a closure cap including a sealing. The channel opening of the cannula protrudes into the sealing of the closure cap thus sealing the channel opening. Due to at least one of a radial compression or an axial compression of the sealing element, as well as due to sealing of the channel opening by the closure cap, the chamber is sealed in a fluid-tight manner.
PEN NEEDLE HUB INJECTION DEPTH OPTIMIZATION
A needle hub (10) for a pen needle is provided with an enlarged surface for contact with the skin of a patient. The enlarged surface is provided with a surface having a dimension and shape to enable a needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to a desired depth and permit substantially the entire exposed length of the needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to the desired depth. The surface of the needle hub can be formed by an inner cone shaped member (26) forming a first contact surface with a surface area of about 1-5 mm.sup.2 and an outer ring (28) at a peripheral edge forming a second contact surface with a combined surface area of about 15 to 50 mm.sup.2.
Apparatus for rapid collection of blood from livestock
