Needle Assembly and Method
A needle assembly is provided having a needle cannula, a hub, and a pair of opposed radially outwardly extending paddles. The needle cannula has a proximal end and a distal end with a puncture tip. The hub has a proximal end and a distal end. The hub supports the needle cannula at a distal end. A twist fitting connector is provided at the proximal end. The pair of opposed radially outwardly extending paddles each have a digit pad configured on the hub in an anatomically preferential position when the needle is affixed to a syringe with the connector. In use, a user palm-grasps a barrel of the syringe so as to point the puncture tip away from a user when receiving at least one digit on at least one of the digit pads during mating and demating from the syringe. A method is also provided.
System and method for multiple site injection
A system for injecting includes a syringe body having proximal and distal ends, a syringe interior, and a syringe flange at the proximal end thereof. The system also includes an injectable fluid disposed in the syringe interior. The system further includes a finger flange coupled to the syringe flange. Moreover, the system includes a stopper member disposed in the syringe interior. In addition, the system includes a plunger ratchet member coupled to the stopper member. The system also includes a plunger tube disposed coaxially around at least a portion of the plunger ratchet member and operatively coupled thereto.
Pen needle assembly having an outer cover
A needle hub assembly for coupling to a pen needle delivery device includes an outer cover having a first well receiving the needle hub and inner shield covering a cannula of the needle hub. A second well is spaced from the first well and receives the inner shield. In use, the pen delivery device is coupled to the connecting end of the needle hub to withdraw the needle hub and inner shield from the first well. The inner shield is inserted into the second well where the inner shield is gripped so that the inner shield can be separated from the needle hub without the user handling the outer cover or the inner shield. After use, the needle hub is inserted into the first well and the pen needle delivery device is separated from the needle hub. The needle hub is retained within the first well where the outer cover containing the used needle hub and inner shield can be discarded as a single unit.
Antiseptic cap
A syringe assembly including: (1) a syringe barrel defining a chamber; (2) a plunger mounted in the chamber and moveable with respect to the barrel; and (3) a cap holder assembly containing a cap and an absorbent material removably attached to the syringe.
Drug delivery device
A drug delivery device for administering a drug is presented having a body adapted to retain a cartridge containing a drug, at least one electrical unit and a port for electrically contacting the electrical unit, an adapter for attaching an injection needle to the drug delivery device, a safety mechanism arranged to prevent contacting the electrical unit through the port whilst an injection needle is in fluid communication with the cartridge and arranged to prevent establishing a fluid communication between an injection needle and the cartridge whilst the port is configured to allow contacting the electrical unit.
APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING A PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A storage device (30) for storing a pen needle assembly (10) includes a housing (30) having first wells (44) with a dimension for receiving the pen needle assembly and second wells (46) for receiving an inner shield (24) of the pen needle assembly. The second wells (46) have a diameter less than a diameter of the first wells (44). An ejector (40) in the housing (34) can be actuated to eject the used needle hub (16) and outer covers (22) from the first well (44) and the inner shield (24) from the second well (46) for disposal. A method of coupling a pen needle delivery device to a needle hub positions a needle hub assembly (18) in the first well (44) and inserts the coupling end of the delivery device (10) into the first well (44) and is coupled to the needle hub. The needle hub is pulled from the outer cover (22). The inner shield (24) is inserted into the second well (46) to remove the inner shield from the needle hub.
PEN AND PEN NEEDLE ADAPTER WITH FEATURE TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO PACKAGED NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
An injection pen, or an adapter for an injector pen, configured to connect at its distal end with a needle assembly, and having a tubular wall comprising a through cut from the distal end to pierce and capture barrier material covering needle assembly packaging containing a needle assembly in a cavity therein. The though cut has an opening with an edge that scythes the barrier material when the hub is pressed against the needle assembly packaging to access the needle assembly. The edge can have a tooth for piercing the barrier material. The opening can be dimensioned and shaped and angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the pen or adapter to facilitate capturing scythed barrier material and guiding it away from the needle assembly to ensure the pierced barrier material does not hinder connection of the needle assembly to the pen or adapter.
HYPODERMIC DEVICE WITH AN ARRAY OF HYPODERMIC NEEDLES
A hypodermic device is disclosed comprising a chamber, an array of hypodermic needles and a threaded Luer lock connector. The chamber comprises a distal outer surface and a proximal outer surface. The array of hypodermic needles projects outward from the distal outer surface of the chamber. Each hypodermic needle comprises a bore extending from a receiving end of the hypodermic needle to a delivery end of the hypodermic needle along a longitudinal axis. The bore in each of the hypodermic needles is in fluid communication with a hollow space in the chamber. The threaded Luer lock connector is in fluid communication with an opening at the proximal outer surface of the chamber. A first end of the threaded Luer lock connector is connected to the proximal outer surface of the chamber.
SYRINGE CAP, SYRINGE ASSEMBLY, AND PRE-FILLED SYRINGE
A syringe assembly of a pre-filled syringe that includes a syringe cap having a tubular cover member that covers a cap body. The cover member includes a substantially opaque first tubular section and a second tubular section having a display section. An inner peripheral surface of the cover member is roughened at least from a vicinity of a distal end of the first tubular section to a vicinity of a proximal end section of a proximal end tubular section.
Pen needle magazine
An attachable needle assembly (2) for use on a medication delivery pen (4), the needle assembly (2) comprising a housing (16) that engage the medication delivery pen (4), the housing (16) enclosing a plurality of needles (34) that pierce a reservoir septum (6) of the medication delivery pen (4), a plurality of needle posts (24) each securing one of the plurality of needles (34), and a needle assembly septum (60) enclosing the plurality of needles (34). The needle assembly (2) further including a plurality of integrated peel tabs (70) each detachably connected to one of the plurality of needle posts (24), wherein in a first position of the needle assembly (2), the plurality of needles (34) is disposed in the needle assembly septum (60), and in a second position of the needle assembly (2), one of the plurality of integrated peel tabs (70) is drawn out of the housing (16) to cause a selected needle (40) of the plurality of needles (34) to pierce the needle assembly septum (60) and be exposed for medication delivery.
