Nebulizer unit with directly connectible ampoule
A nebulizer unit includes a housing, which includes an aerosol generator with a feed chamber disposed at one side, an ampoule receiver, an opening device with at least one opening, which is in communication with the feed chamber, and an ampoule with liquid, which comprises at least one opening, with which it can be inserted or used in the ampoule receiver, wherein the ampoule has a connection region, which interacts with a connector of the ampoule receptacle in order to hold the ampoule firmly in the ampoule receiver and to connect the openings and such that they are leak tight.
LIQUID DRUG CARTRIDGES AND ASSOCIATED DISPENSER
Liquid drug cartridges and an associated inhaler are used to deliver one more separate doses of an aerosolized liquid drug. A cartridge includes a container for storing the liquid drug, an end cap having an ejection opening, a filter element, and a piston that is repositionable relative to the container to selectively eject a volume of liquid drug from the ejection opening. The filter element filters the liquid drug prior to ejection from the ejection opening. The liquid drug cartridge can be coupled with an inhaler that includes an aerosol generator. The aerosol generator includes a vibratable membrane onto which the liquid drug is ejected. The liquid drug is aerosolized by the vibration of the membrane for inhalation by a user.
Intranasal drug delivery device, system, and process
Embodiments relate to an intranasal drug delivery device, system, and process. The drug delivery device can have a compliant/flexible soft nib. The drug delivery device can have an actuator and shot chamber. The drug delivery device can have a non-air interface mechanically pressurized fluid reservoir. The drug delivery device can have a facial or device recognition application to prevent intentional or unintentional misuse.
Intranasal device with dip tube
A device for delivering a compound to the olfactory region of the nasal cavity includes an actuator body and a tip configured to removably couple to the actuator body. The actuator body comprises a propellant channel in fluid communication with a propellant canister. The tip comprises a tip stem, a dip tube, a delivery channel, one or more puncture members, and an outlet orifice. The tip stem receives a compound container containing the compound and the compound container moves between a sealed state and an unsealed state. The one or more puncture members are each configured to puncture the compound container when the compound container is in the unsealed state. Propellant released from the canister travels through the propellant channel and into the punctured compound container, thereby contacting the compound and propelling the compound through the delivery channel and out the outlet orifice.
Device for sublingual application of a therapeutic dose of medication in fractions
A sublingual type medication delivery device includes a container body having a predetermined volume of solvent with a spray dispenser attached at one end of the container and at the opposite end of the container is a housing which contains medication to be discharged into the container and mixed with the solvent to form a diluted medication for fractional delivery of the medication over a period of time. The housing can either be a tablet crusher for introducing medicament in solid form into the container or the housing can be a capsule having liquid medicament that is delivered through a needle that pierces the capsule wall.
AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE WITH PIERCING ASSEMBLY
An electrically heated aerosol-generating device includes a main housing having a cavity, a closure body engageable with the main housing to enclose a cartridge in the cavity, and a heater assembly. The heater assembly includes an elongate piercing assembly configured to extend into the open-ended passage of the cartridge and one or more electric heaters. The piercing assembly has a first hollow shaft portion connected to the main housing and a second hollow shaft portion connected to the closure body. The first and second hollow shaft portions have first and second piercing surfaces configured to breakthrough first and second frangible seals when the cartridge is enclosed in the cavity.
Device for dispensing a fluid product, and method for filling and for plugging same
A fluid dispenser device including a body; a reservoir containing one or two doses of a fluid, the reservoir including a stopper that closes the reservoir in leaktight manner before actuation; a dispenser head that is provided with a dispenser orifice; and dispenser mechanism for dispensing at least a portion of the fluid through the dispenser orifice during actuation. The device further includes a needle having a tip that is adapted to pierce the stopper during actuation, the reservoir being filled with the fluid and being closed with the stopper under a vacuum, so that the residual volume of air present in the reservoir between the fluid and the stopper is substantially zero.
Adjustable dosing delivery and multi sectioned drug compartment
A device is provided for delivering a predetermined volume of at least one substance within a body cavity of a subject. The device contains a) a capsule for containing the predetermined volume of substances; b) a delivery end, having at least one orifice of diameter D, for placement in proximity to the body cavity; c) a valve mechanically connectable to the capsule, having at least two configurations: (i) an active configuration in which the valve enables delivery of the substances; and (ii) an inactive configuration, in which the valve prevents delivery of the substances from the capsule to the body cavity; and d) a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V.sub.gas of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P.sub.gas. The capsule further contains at least one mixing mechanism that mixes the substances and the pressurized gas after the valve is reconfigured to the active configuration.
MICROWAVE HEATING UNIT AND METHOD
A microwave heating method and unit for heating an aerosol-forming sample due to microwave absorption by a material of the sample and in particular for thereby releasing by or from said sample upon heating said sample at least one aerosol, in particular in a or as a inhalation, vaporizer and/or smoking product or device, in particular for medical and/or pulmonary drug delivery applications. The microwave heating unit includes (i) a sample holding and exposing unit configured to receive and hold a sample in a holding and exposing space and to expose the sample to a microwave radiation field within said holding and exposing space, (ii) a microwave radiation generating and/or releasing unit configured to release the microwave radiation field to said holding and exposing space, and (iii) an impedance matching unit configured to achieve impedance matching between the holding and exposing space and the microwave radiation field.
