AUTO-INJECTOR AND RELATED METHODS OF USE

An auto-injector may include a housing having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis, the housing having a shorter dimension along the transverse axis than along the longitudinal axis, wherein the transverse axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; a flowpath having a first end and a second end; and a container enclosing a first fluid, the container extending from a first end toward a second end along or parallel to the longitudinal axis and being movable from a first position to a second position along or parallel to the longitudinal axis, the container being fluidly isolated from the flowpath in the first position and fluidly connected to the flowpath in the second position.

Check-valve

[Problem] To provide a check-valve in which the occurrence of damage such as tearing, deformation, etc., can be suppressed. [Solution] A check-valve opens and closes an opening provided in a main body and prevents a backflow of a fluid passing through the opening; and the check-valve includes a base part 71 which is flexible, and a valve part 72 which opens and closes the opening, has a thickness thinner than a thickness of the base part 71, and is connected to the base part 71 in a state in which a periphery of the valve part 72 is surrounded with the base part 71. The valve part 72 seals the opening in a normal state of the valve part 72 being pre-urged toward the main body by an elasticity of the base part 71, and opens the opening when the fluid passes through the opening in one direction.

A catheter priming apparatus may include a barrier forming a reservoir. Fluid may be disposed within the reservoir. A support structure may be disposed within the barrier. The support structure may include an opening extending through the support structure and a connector configured to couple the catheter priming apparatus to a catheter system. A one-way valve may be coupled to the support structure and configured to allow the fluid to flow out of the reservoir through the connector in response to compression of a portion of the barrier aligned with the opening.

Single-use genderless aseptic fluid couplings

Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems. For example, some embodiments described in this document are single-use, aseptic fluid coupling devices that can be coupled to create a sterile flow path therethrough. Some such aseptic couplings are genderless couplings such that two identical aseptic couplings can be coupled together.

FLUID TRAP FOR A RESPIRATORY THERAPY SYSTEM

Disclosed is a fluid trap for use with, or comprising part of, a respiratory therapy system, and in particular comprising part of, or configured to be connected to, a breathing limb, such as an expiratory limb, of a respiratory therapy system. The fluid trap comprises a container configured to contain fluid received from an inlet; a closure, the closure and container being configured to be removeably mounted together to close the container; and a valve configured to be removeably mounted on at least one of the container and the closure, and configured to be in a closed condition which prevents fluid from flowing through the inlet when the closure is not mounted on the container, the valve being further configured to be in an open position which allows fluid from the inlet into the container when the closure is mounted on the container.

Diaphragm check valve

A check valve, including a valve and a valve support surface, to permit a fluid to move through the check valve in a first direction and resist a fluid flow through the valve in a second direction, the valve having a valve diaphragm and an isolating bridge, with a portion of the valve engaging against valve support surface to resist deformation or stretching of the valve when a backflow of fluid into the check valve occurs. The valve support surface having a first surface portion and a second surface portion, and the valve positioned with the valve diaphragm spaced apart from the first surface portion, and the isolating bridge spaced apart from the second surface portion.

Hemostasis valve orientation relative to the fluid space in a introducer sheath

A hemostasis device includes a valve, the valve being sized and configured to be disposed entirely within a handle of a medical device, the valve including a rim, the rim being sized and configured to seal with a lumen of the handle of the medical device.

PRESSURE ACTIVATED VALVE FOR HIGH FLOW RATE AND PRESSURE VENOUS ACCESS APPLICATIONS

A valve comprises a first housing including a first lumen extending therethrough and defining a first disk-facing surface and a second housing including a second lumen extending therethrough and defining a second disk-facing surface, the second housing being mated to the first housing so that the second disk-facing surface faces the first disk-facing surface in combination with a flexible disk gripped between gripping portions of the first and second disk-facing surfaces, the disk including a slit extending therethrough which, when acted upon by a fluid pressure of at least a predetermined threshold level opens to permit fluid flow between the first and second lumens and which, when acted upon by a fluid pressure less than the threshold level remains sealed preventing fluid flow between the first and second lumens and a relief well between opposing portions of the first and second housings radially outside the gripping portions, a width of the relief well exceeding a width of a radially outer portion of the flexible disk so that the radially outer portion of the disk is free to move therewithin.

Valve with internal member

A valve with an internal member is disclosed which allows exhaled carbon dioxide to escape from a breathing circuit when the circuit gas pressure drops below a threshold pressure. The valve operates by occluding one or more ports under a relatively high pressure and opening the one or more ports under a relatively low pressure. The internal member is attached to the body of the valve at two or more locations on the internal member. The internal member moves in a direction perpendicular to the gas flow through the valve.
