TRANSFER DEVICE VALVE
A valve is disclosed, the valve comprising a housing having an first opening and a second opening, and an elastomeric member positioned in the housing, the elastomeric member comprising a thickness, a continuous peripheral wall projecting from the thickness, and a slit extending through the thickness, a continuous portion of the peripheral wall creating a continuous sealable contact with the housing and partitioning the housing into an upper section and a lower section, the elastomeric member configured such that upon creating a pressure differential between the upper section and the lower section of the housing causes either: (i) the peripheral wall to deflect from the housing permitting fluid flow around the elastomeric member; or (ii) the slit to open permitting fluid flow through the elastomeric member. Methods using the valve are also disclosed.
Extracorporeal blood treatment system, disposable set and valve unit for pre/post infusion
Disposable set for an extracorporeal blood treatment system. The disposable set includes an extracorporeal blood circuit having a blood withdrawal line and a blood return line configured to be attached to a blood treatment device and an infusion circuit coupled to the extracorporeal blood circuit through infusion lines. The disposable set further includes an infusion valve unit configured to be releasably connected to an infusion pump of the extracorporeal blood treatment system, the infusion valve unit incorporating a one-way valve or seal to control the flow of infusion liquid through the infusion cicuit.
BIOPSY SPACER DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A breast cavity spacer device, a kit for performing a biopsy and a method of performing a biopsy, such as for use with a percutaneous lumpectomy, is provided. The breast cavity spacer device includes a catheter. A self-sealing balloon member is removably and fluidly coupled on one end of the catheter. An umbrella valve is coupled to the catheter adjacent the balloon member, the umbrella valve being configured to fluid flow into the balloon in response to fluid flow from an end of the catheter opposite the balloon and prevent fluid flow from the balloon when fluid flow from the end of the catheter is stopped.
STEPPED CHECK VALVES
A check valve includes an upper housing defining an inlet of the check valve, a lower housing defining an outlet of the check valve, and a cavity interposed between and defined by the upper and lower housings for fluidly connecting the inlet and the outlet. The check valve further includes a valve member mounted in the cavity to selectively permit fluid flow in a first direction, and prevent fluid backflow in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The valve member includes a valve body and a valve stem portion extending axially through a central axis of the valve body.
Sealing valve
The present invention relates to sealing valves that can be mounted within a container wall, enabling controlled fluid flow along both inner and outer surfaces of the sealing valve in the same distal direction.
Medical Device, Method And System For Temporary Occlusion Of An Opening In A Lumen Of A Body
A medical system is disclosed that has three basic components; a retractable sheet, a first balloon that has a centrally arranged hollow, and a collapsible/expandable support structure at the hollow. The first balloon is for instance mounted/molded onto the exterior surface of the support structure. The aggregate of support structure and the first balloon is positioned, and once the sheet has been retracted from the first balloon, the first balloon is inflated. The support structure may be self-expandable or expandable by an expansion unit, such as a further balloon arranged at its inside. The lumen of the support structure is chosen to be smaller than that of a main lumen. The outside diameter of the inflated first balloon is chosen to be larger than the interior diameter of the main lumen.
Flow-control valve arrangements and improvements
The present invention relates to improvements of valves of the cartwheel type, with receptive arrangements incorporating the valves, which comprise a component of elastomeric material in the form of a cartwheel fastened by means of the external ring to the valve case. The invention comprises a central plug connected by rods to the external ring and, normally, when used in two-way casings (with only one inlet and one outlet), the valve acts as a unidirectional valve. When used in a three-way casing, or a casing with more than three thereof, the valve can act to seal off and let through a flow of fluid on either side of the valve, alternately, depending on the fluid-circulation design choice.
UMBRELLA CHECK VALVE
A check valve includes a housing that includes an inlet port, an outlet port, and a valve chamber. The inlet port extends from a ceiling of the valve chamber to an outer surface of the housing. The outlet port extends from a floor of the valve chamber to the outer surface of the housing. The check valve further includes a valve member supported within the chamber. The valve includes a valve head. When an upstream pressure is applied to the valve, the valve head is configured to deflect away from the ceiling of the valve chamber and unseal the inlet port. When a downstream pressure is applied to the valve, the valve head is configured to deflect away from the floor of the valve chamber and seal the inlet port such that the valve head conforms to a shape of the ceiling of the valve chamber.
