Anti-suction blood pump inlet
A heart pump assembly includes an impeller blade coupled to a rotor or a drive shaft, a cannula, a distal projection coupled to a distal end of the cannula and a blood inlet having a plurality of apertures. The plurality of apertures are radially oriented and disposed about a circumference of the cannula. The plurality of apertures include at least a first ring of apertures which are proximal to the distal projection and a second ring of apertures which are proximal of the first ring of apertures. The plurality of apertures can allow the heart pump assembly to continue to function if anatomical structures or tissue become suctioned to a portion of the heart pump.
Magnet-based systems and methods for transferring fluid
A system is provided for pumping fluid, with the system including a fluid pump and a cassette. The pump includes a motor and a piston that is movable toward and away from a flexible diaphragm of the cassette. A linkage connects the motor and the piston to move the piston toward and away from the diaphragm. At least a portion of the piston or the diaphragm is magnetized, with the other having at least a portion that is magnetized or formed of a ferromagnetic material, thereby magnetically coupling the piston and the diaphragm such that movement of the piston moves the diaphragm into and out of a cassette cavity aligned with the diaphragm and piston. Movement of the diaphragm into and out of the cavity changes the effective volume of the cavity, which has the effect of drawing fluid into or forcing fluid out of the cavity.
INTRAVENTRICULAR PULSATING BLOOD PUMP
The invention provides an intraventricular pulsating blood pump fixedly disposed at the ventricularapex inside the ventricle to generate pulsation action. The pulsating blood pump is substantially jellyfish-shaped and includes a bell-shaped pump body and a driving source, an opening of the bell-shaped pump body faces to the outlet of the ventricle, the driving source drives the bell-shaped pump body to contract or relax, and the contraction or relaxation of the bell-shaped pump body drives the blood in the ventricle to eject directionally to the artery and form a convoluted blood flow field between the inner wall of the bell-shaped pump body and the inner wall of the ventricle. The invention not only provides assist to ventricular by pulsating blood flow, but also optimizes the flow field and pressure distribution in the ventricle, the blood pump of the invention is better in biocompatibility than the blood pumps in prior art.
Anti-suction blood pump inlet
A heart pump assembly includes an impeller blade coupled to a rotor or a drive shaft, a cannula, a distal projection coupled to a distal end of the cannula and a blood inlet having a plurality of apertures. The plurality of apertures is radially oriented and disposed about a circumference of the cannula. The plurality of apertures includes at least a first ring of apertures which are proximal to the distal projection and a second ring of apertures which are proximal of the first ring of apertures. The plurality of apertures can allow the heart pump assembly to continue to function if anatomical structures or tissue become suctioned to a portion of the heart pump.

Device for generating bilateral pressure impulses
Disclosed is an electromechanical device generating bilateral pressure impulses, wherein the alternative and specular movement of the homologous cursors (CV, CO), pacing one of the Cartesian axes, exclusively manages mobile cores (NEM) of electromagnets (EM) with planned solicitation, for supplying the necessary mechanical energy for the correct working of operating machines of different kinds, and in particular of a permanent artificial heart.
BLOOD PUMP HOUSING DEVICE
A blood pump housing device designed to enclose and protect a total artificial heart when implanted in a subject is disclosed. The blood pump housing device comprises a first and second artificial heart pump receiving part (3a, 3b) configured to receive and partly enclose a first and a second artificial heart pump (20a, 20b) of a total artificial heart (TAH); and a first and second pump actuation enclosing part (4a, 4b) configured to partly enclose a first and second pump actuation means (60a, 60b), said artificial heart pump receiving parts (3a, 3b) and pump actuation means enclosing parts (4a, 4b) are arranged to connect to each other in a leak-free manner.
