Oral device with activating element
An oral care implement herein may be embodied as an oral device for placement in the oral cavity. The device may include an insert configured for placement in the oral cavity in contact with a wearer's teeth and an activating member configured for placement in the oral cavity and selectively attachable to the insert.
DEVICE FOR DELIVERING IONIC MATERIAL AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A device for delivering an ionic material includes a storage module including a reservoir configured to store the ionic material, a bipolar membrane configured to pass the ionic material in a single direction based on an ionic current, electrodes, disposed on a lower end of the reservoir and an upper end of the bipolar membrane, respectively, configured to form an electric field generating the ionic current, and a control module configured to control either one or both of a release amount and a release period of the ionic material passing through the bipolar membrane by adjusting a direction and an intensity of the electric field.
Oral Care Device
An oral care device for placement in the oral cavity. The oral care device may include a support component, a piezoelectric component, and/or sensor and/or a therapeutic element. The support component is configured for placement between one or more maxillary teeth and one or more mandibular teeth. The piezoelectric element is configured to generate electrical energy from relative movement of the maxillary teeth and the mandibular teeth. The sensor is configured to sense a condition in the oral cavity. The therapeutic element is configured to release a therapeutic into the oral cavity. The device may include any one or any combination of the piezoelectric component, the therapeutic element, and the sensor.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ENHANCED COMPOSITION DELIVERY
Methods and devices that provide enhanced delivery of a composition to a body region of a patient utilizing radiofrequency energy include directing a first electrode and a second electrode coupled to a radiofrequency energy source to a location proximate to the body region. Radiofrequency energy is provided in modulated pulses from the radiofrequency energy source to the body region from at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode to provide a delivery condition configured to enhance delivery of the composition. The composition is delivered proximate to the body region using a composition delivery element. Devices for enhance composition delivery are also disclosed.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for delivery of therapeutic substance to nasal cavity
Systems, apparatus, and methods are described for delivering a therapeutic substance to a target area within or proximate to a nasal cavity of a subject, including a reservoir configured to contain the therapeutic substance and a delivery interface by which the therapeutic substance is delivered to the target area. In some embodiments, systems, apparatus, and methods described herein can deliver a therapeutic substance using iontophoresis and/or electroosmosis.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING AN ANESTHETIZING SOLUTION INTO THE EAR CANAL
Delivering an anesthetizing solution into the ear canal. One example embodiment is a method of treatment, the method comprising: adhering a pad to a patient, the adhering on the patients face proximate to a tragus of the patient, and the pad being a member of an earset assembly; inserting an earset into an ear canal of the patient; locking relative orientations of the earset and pad by way of a connection assembly, the locking in place to hold the earset in the ear canal; filling the ear canal with therapeutic fluid; and performing iontophoresis with the therapeutic fluid by way of an electrode of the earset.
USE OF ELECTRICITY TO ENHANCE THE DELIVERY OF PHARMACEUTICAL AGENTS AND OTHER SUBSTANCES INTO THE SURFACE MUCOSA AND WALL OF THE URETER AND RENAL PELVIS, AND INTO THE RENAL PARENCHYMA
A medical urology device for drug delivery to the lining and deeper tissues of the ureter and kidney. The present invention features an electromotive drug administration (EMDA) catheter device for deploying a fluid to deep tissues of a patient. The device includes a catheter body with fenestrations along its distal length. The device may further comprise a multiport component for allowing access to the catheter body. The device may further comprise a conductive wire removably disposed through the multiport component within the catheter body. Fluid may be directed through the multiport component and the plurality of fenestrations to the body structure of the patient. Electrical stimulation directed through the conductive wire enhances the penetration of medications with the same polarity to electrical stimulation into a body structure of the patient to allow the fluid to penetrate deep tissues.
Systems, devices and methods for the creation of a therapeutic restriction in the gastrointestinal tract
A system for treating a patient comprises a delivery device and injectate. The delivery device comprises an elongate shaft with a distal portion and at least one delivery element positioned on the elongate shaft distal portion. The delivery device is constructed and arranged to deliver the injectate through the at least one delivery element and into tissue to create a therapeutic restriction in the gastrointestinal tract. Methods of creating a therapeutic restriction are also provided.
Adhesive earplugs useful for sealing the ear canal
Systems and methods are provided for sealing an ear canal for retaining a solution in the ear canal. Adhesive earplugs are provided through which the solution can be delivered, and which, following delivery, retain the fluid in the ear canal. The systems and methods may also be useful for delivering an anesthetizing solution to the ear canal of a human patient and for maintaining the solution therein for use with an iontophoresis system for anesthetizing the tympanic membrane.
Electrochemical device for releasing ions
The present invention relates to an electrochemical device for releasing ions, comprising an electrical circuit comprising a first electrode and a second electrode adapted for providing a galvanic cell when the electrodes are exposed to a fluid constituting an electrolyte, and a boost converter adapted for amplifying a potential generated between the first and the second electrode. The electrical circuit further comprises a third electrode connected with an output side of the boost converter, wherein the second and the third electrode constitutes an electrolytic cell powered by the galvanic cell when the electrodes are exposed to a fluid. The present invention further relates to devices, such as a toothbrush or a shaver, adapted for being used in connection with a fluid, comprising such electrochemical device for releasing ions.
