JOINT FOR ROTARY CUTTERBAR
A modular cutterbar assembly capable of moving in a direction of travel may include a first module forming a first surface, a second surface, a front edge, and a rear edge. The assembly may also include a second module coupled to the first module such that the second module forms a first surface, a second surface, a front edge, and a rear edge. A joint is defined between first and second module and defining a joint plane. A first coupler is defined through the joint of the first and second modules at each respective front edge and defining a first coupler axis, and a second coupler is defined through the joint of the first and second modules at each respective rear edge and defining a second coupler axis. The joint plane is angled relative to the direction of travel.
DISK GUARD SUPPORT
An elongated rotary cutterbar assembly includes a housing having a first surface, a second surface, a front portion, and a rear portion. At least one disk is rotatably coupled to the housing, and the assembly further includes a first tab at least partially disposed between the first surface and the second surface, and a tab plane defined by the first tab and extending between the first surface and the second surface. A stop surface is defined in the housing offset from the tab plane towards the first surface, and a disk guard is coupled to the housing at the first tab. A receiver is defined in the disk guard at a location adjacent to the first stop surface. When a force is applied to the disk guard towards the first surface, the first receiver contacts the first stop surface to restrict deflection of the disk guard relative to the housing.
DEBRIS DIVERTER FOR ROTARY CUTTERBAR
A rotary cutterbar disk hub assembly for diverting debris includes a cutterbar housing defining an internal cavity and a bearing housing defining an axis and coupled to the cutterbar housing. A labyrinth is defined in the bearing housing circumferentially about the axis, and a barrier is formed by the bearing housing at a location radially outward of the labyrinth. A disk hub is positioned concentric with the axis and coupled to the bearing housing and cutterbar housing. The disk hub forms at least one protrusion that extends towards the bearing housing and is radially adjacent to the labyrinth. The barrier restricts a portion of the debris from entering the labyrinth, and the at least one protrusion severs debris that is disposed near the labyrinth as the disk hub rotates.
WORK VEHICLE HAVING A CUTTER ASSEMBLY WITH A PRE-LOADED GEAR TRAIN AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING SAME
A work vehicle for cutting crops includes a header a supported by a chassis of the work vehicle. The header includes a cutter assembly having a cutter bar frame supporting a series of rotary cutters arranged in a lengthwise direction. A gear train, having a first gear and a second gear, is coupled to the series of rotary cutters to transfer power thereto. A cutter control system includes a first motor coupled to the first gear of the gear train and a second motor coupled to the second gear of the gear train. A controller, including a processor and memory architecture, is operably connected to the first motor and the second motor to control operation thereof. The cutter control system drives the first gear at a first speed via the first motor and drives the second gear at a second speed via the second motor. The second speed is different than the first speed to pre-load the gear train into enmeshing engagement with each other in one rotational direction.
ATTACHMENT FOR USE WITH A PRIME MOVER TO CUT GROUND MATERIAL
An attachment with cutting discs for use with a prime mover to cut ground material comprises a frame with forward and rear ends, a mounting portion at the rear end which is configured for coupling to a pivotal mounting member of the prime mover which is carried at forward ends of pivotal arms of the prime mover that can be raised or lowered, and a cutting portion at the forward end of the frame comprising a single transversely extending row of cutting discs arranged to cut the ground material in a forward working direction of movement of the prime mover. The single row of cutting discs is spaced from the mounting portion at a prescribed distance of about 4.5-5.5 feet such that cantilever action of the row of discs about the mounting member provides effective cutting action. The attachment includes shields covering the cutting discs.
AGRICULTURAL MOWER CONDITIONER WITH ODD NUMBER OF CUTTING DISCS
An agricultural mower conditioner includes: a frame including a tongue coupler and defining a frame width; a cutter bar including an odd number of cutting discs arranged side-by-side across a cutter bar width; and a conditioning roll carried behind the cutter bar, the conditioning roll being offset with respect to a centerline that bisects the frame width and the cutter bar width.
Agricultural machine comprising a safety system with improved triggering kinematics
An agricultural machine includes a hitching support, at least one tool or group of tools, at least one support arm which is connected to the hitching support by a first joint and to the tool or tool group, and which is mounted so as to pivot about a transfer axis between operational and raised positions, and a safety device making it possible to carry out a safety movement under the effect of pressure. The safety device includes a lift connected to the hitching support by a second joint. The second joint is offset relative to the first joint in the direction of travel. The safety movement can include a second movement phase during which the lift is able to move the tool or the group of tools away from the ground.
Flexible auger wrapper liner for a crop conveying auger
A system having a frame, an auger operably coupled to the frame, an auger wrapper fixed to the frame and proximal to the auger, the auger wrapper having a curved surface with a first rigidity, and a liner attached to the auger wrapper, the liner comprising a second rigidity that is less rigid than the first rigidity.
MOWER FOR AN AGRICULTURAL MACHINE
An agricultural machine (10) or, particularly, a mower for an agricultural machine includes a primary frame (13), a mowing unit (14) mounting a cutterbar therein, an adjustable element (17) and a tilt sensor (19). The adjustable element is adjustable in response to a signal from the sensor to re-configure a mowing angle between the cutterbar and/or mowing unit and a ground surface. Such reconfiguration results in adjusting an effective stubble height of the mower. The adjustable element may be positioned between the primary frame (13) and the agricultural machine (10) or between the primary frame (13) and the mowing unit (14). In the latter case the adjustable element (17) provides independent adjustment of a tilt angle of the mowing unit to a primary actuator (A).
Cutting Device
A cutting device is embodied for cutting agricultural crop plants by a rotational movement about a cutting rotation axis and has at least one knife element that, in a plan view of a top side of the cutting device, is embodied open in circulating direction. At least one radial conveying element, arranged at least at the top side and stationary relative to the knife element, is provided that at least in sections thereof is embodied for conveying the crop plants in a conveying direction that, relative to the cutting rotation axis, is oriented partly tangentially and partly radially relative to the cutting rotation axis. Moreover, a harvesting attachment with a plurality of such cutting devices and a field chopper with such a harvesting attachment is provided.
