Crop mowing implement and a converging drum therefor
11160206 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A converging drum for a crop mowing implement includes a body that extends along a central longitudinal axis. The body rotates about the central longitudinal axis in a defined rotational direction. At least one ramp feature extends radially outward from the body, relative to the central longitudinal axis. The ramp feature is arranged to form an acute angle relative to a reference plane. The acute angle may open toward the defined rotational direction to move cut crop downward, or the acute angle may open away from the defined rotational direction to move crop upward, to position the cut crop for a conditioning system. The converging drum may include a first group of ramp features near a second end of the body for moving cut crop downward, and/or a second group of ramp features near a first end of the body for moving cut crop upward.

BAFFLE SYSTEM FOR LAWN MOWER CUTTING DECK
20220095537 · 2022-03-31 ·

A lawn mower includes a cutting deck with first and second cutting blades to form clippings beneath the cutting deck and a baffle system to direct the clipping through a discharge opening. The baffle system includes a baffle wall that at least partially surrounds the first and second cutting blades to define first and second cutting chambers. The baffle wall includes a front baffle wall portion having a front guide surface to guide the clippings from the first and second cutting chambers towards the discharge opening, and a rear baffle wall portion having a concave guide surface and an end positioned between the first cutting chamber and the discharge opening. A discharge transition area is positioned between the first cutting chamber and the discharge opening.

MULCH KIT CONTROL LEVER

A mulch kit control lever includes a handle pivotably mounted to a support plate with a tension spring connecting the handle to the support plate and urging the handle to pivot to either a mulching position or a side discharge position relative to the support plate. The tension spring is connected before the mulch kit control lever is installed on the mower deck. A retainer slides in a slot in one of the support plate and the handle preventing over-travel of the handle past the mulching position and the side discharge position.

Crop conditioner hood with integrated swathboard

A harvesting apparatus includes a crop conditioning element and an associated hood for conditioning crop material. The hood is moveably mounted to a frame of the harvesting apparatus, at a position located above the crop conditioning element. The hood is moveably mounted to the frame for movement toward and away from the crop conditioning element to adjust a gap therebetween. A swathboard is attached to and moveable with the hood. The swathboard is moveable relative to the hood between a plurality of operating positions. The swathboard is operable to maintain its position relative to the hood during movement with the hood toward and away from the crop conditioning element to form a consistent swath while moving the hood relative to the crop conditioning element to adjust the gap therebetween.

Mower Deck
20210274707 · 2021-09-09 ·

A mower deck to be mounted on a traveling vehicle is disclosed. The mower deck includes a housing having a top wall, at least one blade rotated downwardly of the top wall and about a vertical shaft, and a blade baffle unit extending downwards from the top wall in such a manner as to surround an outer circumferential area of a rotational path of the blade to create therein a mulching blade rotation space, the blade baffle unit having a front baffle located on an advancing side of the traveling vehicle and a rear baffle located on a reversing side of the traveling vehicle. The front baffle extends downwards from the top wall to exceed the rotational path so as to prevent discharge of cut grass pieces via a lower end of the front baffle. The rear baffle extends downwards from the top wall by such an extent to allow discharge of the cut grass pieces.

MOWER COMBINATION
20210185926 · 2021-06-24 ·

An agricultural vehicle and connected mower having a number of mowing units suitable for cutting a standing crop, including a front mowing unit and two lateral mowing units located behind and to the sides of the front mowing unit, each of the lateral mowing units having conveyor units to deposit cut crop as a swath. A control unit receives a plurality of signals, representing the location of the mower combination and a direction of operation of each of the conveyor units, compares the signals to a predetermined set of values and as required, adjusts the direction of operation of at least one conveyor unit based on the comparison.

ROTARY MOWER WITH CUTTING DECK WITH BIDIRECTIONAL CUTTING BLADES
20210274711 · 2021-09-09 ·

A rotary lawn mower has one or more grass cutting blades that are rotatable in opposite directions about a vertical axis or axes. Each blade is double edged having front and rear cutting edges on each end of the blade. Each blade end has a front sloped face inboard of the front cutting edge and a rear sloped face inboard of the rear cutting edge. These faces create air flow within the cutting chamber when cutting grass regardless of the direction of rotation of the blade. The direction of rotation of each blade is reversed to switch between discharge and mulching modes of operation. A flow director has a curved vertical guide wall that guides the grass clippings through a discharge opening in the discharge mode and that guides the flow of grass clippings away from the discharge opening in the mulching mode.

Cutter housing assembly for a lawnmower, lawnmower having same, and convertible lawnmower

A cutter housing for a lawnmower can include first and second cutting chambers with first and second chamber walls and first/second discharge openings. First and second ring gates that have openings and blocking segments can be concentrically placed within respective first and second chamber walls, and rotatably attached to the cutter housing. The first and second ring gates can be rotated between: (a) an opened position in which the first/second ring gate is positioned with the first/second ring opening having a first overlap with a first/second discharge opening to provide a discharge mode, and (b) a closed position in which the first/second ring gate is positioned with the first/second ring opening having a decreased overlap, relative to the first overlap, with the first/second discharge opening to provide a mulch mode. The ring gates can be stopped at intermediate positions to provide a partial mulch mode or partial discharge mode.
