Walk power mower with transmission providing both forward and reverse propulsion

A walk power mower having a cutting deck supported upon the ground by a front and rear wheel(s). The mower includes a traction drive system incorporating a bidirectional transmission adapted to propel the mower alternatively in both forward and reverse directions. In some embodiments, the mower may include a single bidirectional transmission (e.g., powering only rear wheel(s) or only front wheel(s) of the mower), while in other embodiments, two bidirectional transmissions may be provided to power both the front and the rear wheel(s). In other embodiments, the mower may include a bidirectional transmission powering the rear wheel(s), while the front wheel(s) may be attached to the deck via a caster assembly.

Gardening tool

A gardening tool, such as a mower, has a main body having an accessory, such as a mowing blade, and a motor for driving the accessory. A handle is rotatably connected to the main body. At least one operation assembly is associated with the handle for being operated by a user to control the motor when the handle is located in a predetermined position. A control system prevents the motor from being controlled by the operation assembly and halts the motor when the handle is located out of the predetermined position.

A garden tool, including a main body, a walking wheel mounted on the main body, a self-propelled motor for driving the walking wheel, and a control panel disposed on the main body. The control panel includes a self-propelled control assembly. The self-propelled control assembly includes a self-propelled start paddle and a speed regulating button. Pressing the self-propelled start paddle activates self-propelled operation of the garden tool. The self-propelled start paddle can be released for a short time and the speed regulating button can be adjusted within the short time. The self-propelled start paddle can be re-pressed within the short time and after the speed regulating button is adjusted, and the garden tool maintains the self-propelled operation.

Lawnmowers with safety features and methods associated therewith

A lawnmower comprising: a body; a cutting element coupled with the body; a motor configured to drive the cutting element; a sensor comprising an accelerometer configured to detect an angular displacement of the lawnmower with respect to a vertical axis and a wobble of the cutting element with respect to a horizontal plane; and a processor configured to: compare the detected angular displacement against a tilt threshold value; compare the detected wobble against a wobble threshold value; and control an operational speed of the cutting element when the angular displacement exceeds the tilt threshold value or when the wobble exceeds the wobble threshold value.

The present invention is directed to a small push-type lawn mower that can be converted into a riding mower. The mower includes a platform at the rear of the mower deck, and its handle assembly that can be pivoted forward making room for a user to step onto the platform. The handle assembly includes controls that drive electric motors that power the rear wheels allowing the user to ride the mower. The handle assembly can be pivoted rearwardly so that the user can access and grab the handle assembly and push the mower as is well known.
