Walk outdoor power equipment unit having handle mounted operational controls using compliant mechanisms

An outdoor power equipment unit, such as a lawn mower, includes a frame movable over the ground. A handle assembly is provided on the frame to allow an operator to walk on the ground behind the handle assembly while operating the unit. A traction drive and a ground grooming or working implement are carried on the frame. A traction control hand grip and an implement control bail are carried on the handle assembly. Both the hand grip and the bail are movable relative to the handle assembly by flexure provided by first and send compliant mechanisms.

Walk power mower with biased handle

A walk power mower having a cutting deck supported upon the ground by front and rear wheels. The mower includes a biased handle that permits the handle to be pivotally displaced downwardly, against an upward bias force, during operation. The bias force may be provided by a resilient member that compresses as the handle is displaced downwardly. The compression of the resilient member allows downward movement of the handle without initially producing corresponding upward movement of the front wheels of the mower during rearward pulling of the handle.

A lawn mower (10) may include a blade housing (20), an engine (30), a mobility assembly (310); and a drive system (300). The engine (30) may be operably coupled to the blade housing (20) and configured to selectively rotate a drive shaft (130). The mobility assembly (310) may include a first set of wheels (40, 42) and be selectively operably coupled to the engine (30) to provide mobility of the lawn mower responsive at least in part to operation of the engine (30). The drive system (300) may include a first transmission (110, 120), a flexible driving member (100), a disengagement assembly (116), and a remote actuator. The a disengagement assembly (116) may include a latching lever (125), where the latching lever (125) is configured to switch the first transmission (110, 120) between a disengaged mode and an engaged mode, and where the latching lever (125) is configured to move between a disengaged position corresponding to the disengaged mode and an engaged position corresponding to the engaged mode. The remote actuator may be operably coupled to the flexible driving member (100), where responsive to actuation of the remote actuator, the flexible driving member (100) engages a) the latching lever (125) to move the latching lever (125) to the engaged position to thereby place the first transmission (110, 120) in the engaged mode; and b) the first transmission (110, 120) to provide drive power from the drive shaft (130) to the first set of wheels (40, 42).

Walk power mower with transmission providing both forward and reverse propulsion

A walk power mower having a cutting deck supported upon the ground by a front and rear wheel(s). The mower includes a traction drive system incorporating a bidirectional transmission adapted to propel the mower alternatively in both forward and reverse directions. In some embodiments, the mower may include a single bidirectional transmission (e.g., powering only rear wheel(s) or only front wheel(s) of the mower), while in other embodiments, two bidirectional transmissions may be provided to power both the front and the rear wheel(s). In other embodiments, the mower may include a bidirectional transmission powering the rear wheel(s), while the front wheel(s) may be attached to the deck via a caster assembly.

Lawn mower

A lawn mower includes a housing, a drive source, flaps, a grass clippings container, a grass clippings container weight detection unit, an internal pressure detection unit, and a control unit. If it is determined that a first condition where a change amount per predetermined fixed time of the weight detected by the grass clippings container weight detection unit is below a weight change amount reference value and a second condition where a change amount per predetermined fixed time of the internal pressure detected by the internal pressure detection unit has increased to a internal pressure change amount reference value, are satisfied, the control unit implements control to place the flaps in a substantially horizontal state.

RIDING LAWN MOWER, DISPLAY INTERFACE OF A POWER TOOL AND RIDING MACHINE

A riding lawn mower includes a seat, a chassis configured to support the seat, a cutting assembly mounted to the chassis, a walking assembly configured to drive the riding lawn mower to walk on a plane, and a steering wheel assembly. The steering wheel assembly includes a steering wheel operable by the user and a connecting rod configured to connect the steering wheel and the chassis. The steering wheel assembly further includes a pivot assembly that rotatably connects the connecting rod and the chassis, and the pivot assembly enables the steering wheel assembly to switch between a working position and a storage position. A distance between the steering wheel and the plane when the steering wheel assembly is in the storage position is smaller than a distance between the steering wheel and the plane when the steering wheel assembly is in the working position.

Gardening tool, particularly a mower

A gardening tool, such as a mower, has a main body having an accessory, such as a mowing blade, and a motor for driving the accessory. A handle is rotatably connected to the main body. At least one operation assembly is associated with the handle for being operated by a user to control the motor when the handle is located in a predetermined position. A control system prevents the motor from being controlled by the operation assembly and halts the motor when the handle is located out of the predetermined position.

The handle includes a plurality of telescopic members slidably connected to each other. The mower further includes a operation assembly for being operated by a user to activate the motor and a control device for sending a control signal to enable or disable the operation of motor by the operation assembly.

Lawn mower

A control unit of a lawn mower performs switching control for switching operation between a first control mode and a second mode. In the first control mode, during rotation of an engine at a first reference rotation speed, in the case where a change amount of rotation speed of the engine per unit time has exceeded a reference speed change amount, the rotation speed is maintained at a second reference rotation speed, and an flap angle is increased. In the second control mode, during rotation of the engine at a second reference rotation speed, in the case where an opening angle of a throttle valve has fallen below a reference opening angle, the rotation speed is maintained at the first reference rotation speed, and the flap angle is decreased. The second reference rotation speed is higher than the first reference rotation speed.
