A system for preparing beverage, including a second exchangeable capsule, and arranged for optionally including a first exchangeable capsule. The second capsule is larger than the first capsule. The system also includes an apparatus with a first brew chamber part and a second brew chamber part forming a brew chamber for selectively holding one of the capsules and a fluid dispensing device for supplying fluid under pressure to the first brew chamber part. The first brew chamber part has a cavity for selectively holding the first or second capsule. The first brew chamber part may include a first volume not occupied by the first exchangeable capsule when holding this capsule. The first brew chamber part may include a second volume not occupied by the second exchangeable capsule when holding this capsule. A polyamide moulding composition in particular for use for components in the drinking water sector, made of the following constituents: (A) from 25 to 74.9% by weight of at least one semicrystalline, semiaromatic nylon-6,T/6,I, composed of: (a1) from 65 to 82 mol % of terephthalic acid, based on the entirety of the dicarboxylic acids used; (a2) from 18 to 35 mol % of isophthalic acid, based on the entirety of the dicarboxylic acids used; (a3) 1,6-diaminohexane; (a4) at least one monobasic carboxylic acid; (a5) a phosphorus compound; with the first proviso that the molar ratio of the component (a3) to the entirety of the dicarboxylic acids used ((al)+(a2)) is at least 1.04 and at most 1.15; and with the second proviso that the molar ratio of the component (a4) to the component (a3) is in the range from 0.01 to 0.08; (B) from 25 to 60% by weight of fibrous reinforcing materials; (C) from 0 to 30% by weight of particulate fillers; (D) from 0.1 to 2.0% by weight of heat stabilizers, with the proviso that no copper-containing stabilizers are present therein; (E) from 0 to 2% by weight of carbon black; (F) from 0 to 4% by weight of auxiliaries and/or additives differing from C, D and E; where the entirety of the components (A)-(F) makes up 100% by weight.

A brewing chamber works with a pod to brew a beverage and drains the beverage from the pod without being obstructed by the brewing mechanism to substantially avoid contaminating the beverage and brewing mechanism. The pod is designed to drain the beverage once a gap is formed between an extension of an internal filter that is peelably coupled with a rim of the outer container. The brewing chamber is adapted to hold the pod in a substantially horizontal orientation where a hook slides to separate the extension from the rim to form the gap and the hook is tucked away so that the beverage may drain from the pod unobstructed by the hook.

The brewing unit (1) includes a piercing and liquid-supplying device (23, 34, 35) having points (35) for piercing the top wall (12) of a capsule (C) and a conduit (36) for supplying a flow of pressurized liquid to a brewing chamber above the top wall (12) of the capsule (C) and thereafter inside the capsule (C) through the pierces holes in the top wall. A drawer (3) holds a capsule (C) such that its top wall (12) lies in an inclined plane. A discharge channel (40) is provided in the drawer and in fluid communication with the region above the top wall (12) of the capsule (C) when, after the beverage has been prepared and dispensed, the piercing and liquid-supplying device moves from the extracted work position to the retracted rest position to allow the remaining liquid to be poured into the discharge channel (40).

An infusion group for machines for the dispensing of beverages in the form of infusion is disclosed. The infusion group has a capsule-holder configured to receive a capsule for the preparation of an infusion beverage, a dispensing head adapted to cooperate with the capsule-holder to form a chamber for the infusion of the capsule. The dispensing head has a dispensing channel, a perforation disc and an associated supporting member mounted on the dispensing head. The dispensing head also has a discharge channel upstream of the dispensing channel. The configuration of the dispensing head is such that the discharge channel is closed when the perforation disc and the supporting member are in the dispensing position and open when they are in the rest position.
Apparatus and method for preparing a brewed beverage
An apparatus for preparing a brewed beverage includes a device for heating and conveying water. A brewing chamber is coupled to the device to introduce heated water into the brewing chamber. The brewing chamber has a lateral opening and a bottom side having an outlet. A positioning device positions at the lateral opening of the brewing chamber a capsule containing an ingredient for brewing the beverage. A drive device is arranged to move the brewing chamber relative to the capsule. A method of using the apparatus includes the step of ejecting the capsule from the lateral opening of the brewing chamber after each brewing process and carrying out an automatic rinsing of the brewing chamber.
Cleaning arrangement for capsule based beverage dispensers
A cleaning device for cleaning a capsule based beverage system is described. The cleaning device includes a body portion having an open end and configured to be located in the brewing chamber of the beverage system and a reservoir portion located at an opposed end to the open end of the body portion as well as a fluid jet forming portion in fluid communication with reservoir region. The cleaning device also includes a cleaning material holding portion located internally of the body portion for holding the cleaning material spaced apart from the fluid jet forming portion. The cleaning device is configured to allow water under pressure originating from the inlet arrangement of the beverage system to flow into the reservoir portion and to form a fluid jet from the fluid jet forming portion that impinges on cleaning material held in the cleaning material holding portion to create a cleaning solution to clean the brewing chamber and outlet arrangement of the beverage system.
