Apparatus for removably receiving an end effector for performing surgical operations
A surgical instrument apparatus for removably receiving an end effector coupled to an elongate control link for actuating the end effector to perform surgical operations is disclosed. The apparatus includes an actuator housing and an elongate shaft extending from the actuator housing and having a bore for receiving the control link. The apparatus also includes an actuator mounted within the actuator housing and includes a clamp aperture disposed to receive the control link while the clamp aperture is being urged into an unclamped state by an opening force, the clamp aperture being operably configured to move between the unclamped state and a clamped state in response to the opening force being released, the aperture in the clamped state being operable to restrain the control link within the actuator for movement in a longitudinal direction substantially aligned with the elongate shaft.
END TOOL FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Provided are an end tool of a surgical instrument and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, an end tool of a surgical instrument that may be manually operated to be used in laparoscopic surgery or other various surgery and a method of manufacturing the end tool, wherein a load applied to a pin (rotary shaft) and the pulley is appropriately distributed such that the pulley may be sufficiently rotated and at the same time, an overall durability may be improved.
ACTUATOR FOR RELEASING A TISSUE THICKNESS COMPENSATOR FROM A FASTENER CARTRIDGE
A fastener cartridge assembly for use with a surgical end effector. The fastener cartridge assembly can comprise a cartridge body having fastener cavities, fasteners removably positioned in the fastener cavities, a layer of material releasably secured relative to the cartridge body, a connector configured to secure the layer of material to the cartridge body at a location distal to at least one fastener cavity, and an actuator. The layer of material can be a tissue thickness compensator. When actuated, the actuator can overcome the connector, and can overcome the connector prior to the removal of the fasteners from the fastener cavities. The actuator can be actuated at a location proximal to at least one fastener cavity, and can extend distally past at least one fastener cavity toward the connector.
TREATMENT TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPE
A treatment tool for an endoscope includes a transmitting part that transmits an operation of an operating part to a grip part and a bendable part of a distal end part. The transmitting part has a first transmitting member hat is moved to an operating part side based on the operation of the operating part and closes the grip part and a second transmitting member that is moved to the operating part side based on the operation of the operating part and bends the bendable part. In response to the operation of the operating part, first, the first transmitting member is moved to the operating part side, and the second transmitting member is moved to the operating part side after the start of the movement of the first transmitting member.
TREATMENT TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPE
A treatment tool for an endoscope includes a transmitting part that transmits an operation of the operating part to a grip part of a distal end part and a bendable part. The operating part has an operating member that is rotatable and translatable. The transmitting part has a first member to which rotation and translation of the operating member are transmitted and a second member to which only the rotation of the operating member is transmitted. The grip part is closed by the translation of the first member, and the bendable part is bent by the rotation of the second member.
STAPLE CARTRIDGE COMPRISING STAPLES POSITIONED WITHIN A COMPRESSIBLE PORTION THEREOF
A fastener cartridge can comprise a support portion, a tissue thickness compensator positioned relative to the support portion, and a plurality of fasteners positioned within the support portion and/or the tissue thickness compensator which can be utilized to fasten tissue. In use, the fastener cartridge can be positioned in a first jaw of a surgical fastening device, wherein a second jaw, or anvil, can be positioned opposite the first jaw. To deploy the fasteners, a staple-deploying member is advanced through the fastener cartridge to move the fasteners toward the anvil. As the fasteners are deployed, the fasteners can capture at least a portion of the tissue thickness compensator therein along with at least a portion of the tissue being fastened.
NEEDLE DRIVE DEVICE
A device includes a push rod that extends through a portion of a shaft, and an end of the push rod is translated by rotating a lever. The device further includes a needle assembly coupled to an end of the shaft, and the needle assembly includes a first needle arm and a second needle arm that are pivotable between a first open position and a second closed position. When the lever is rotated by a user, the end of the push rod is configured to contact a portion of the needle assembly to displace the needle assembly from a first open position into a second closed position.
Forceps guide tube
A surgical tool can include a handle, an outer tube, an end effector, an inner tube, and a guide tube. The outer tube can be connected to the handle and can extend along a longitudinal axis. The end effector can be connected to the outer tube. The inner shaft can be located within the outer tube and can extend along the longitudinal axis. The inner shaft can be connected to the end effector and the outer shaft. The handle can be operable to translate the inner shaft with respect to the outer tube to operate the end effector. The guide tube can be located within the outer tube between the handle and the end effector. The guide tube can include a conduit extending therethrough.
System And Method For Navigating An Instrument
Disclosed is an instrument assembly usable in a procedure. The instrument includes a connection for a working portion and to a tool handle. A tracking device or assembly may be associated with the instrument for determining a position of the instrument.
Surgical instruments and methods for performing tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and other surgical procedures
A surgical instrument includes a housing, a shaft extending therefrom, an end effector assembly supported by the shaft, a movable handle, and a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a translatable drive member for actuating the end effector assembly, and a torsion spring including first and second legs. The first leg is configured to translate through the housing in response to movement of the movable handle relative to the housing. The second leg is configured to translate through the housing in cooperation with the first leg to move the drive member longitudinally when a force acting on the drive member is less than a threshold force, and to remain in fixed position, thereby tensioning the torsion spring and retaining the drive member in fixed position when the force acting on the drive member is equal to or exceeds the threshold force.
