Sublaminar band clamp
Systems, methods, and devices for securing a sublaminar band are provided. A sublaminar band clamp system may include a first locking mechanism, a second locking mechanism, and a body. The body may include a first portion comprising a first passage, wherein the first locking mechanism is disposed within the first passage. The body may further include a second portion comprising a second passage, wherein the second locking mechanism is disposed within the second passage. A third passage may extend across the body and may be in fluid communication with the second passage. An opening may be positioned between the first and second portions, and the opening may be in fluid communication with the first passage.
Systems and methods for surgical procedures using band clamp implants and tensioning instruments
Implants, systems, and methods for securing a flexible band, thereby providing a desired correction to the spine. The implant may secure the flexible band to patient anatomy without the use of pedicle screws or spinal rods. The implant may include a locking member configured to secure the band. The band may be looped around bony anatomy and tensioned to achieve correction and provide fixation as an alternative to pedicle screws and spinal rods during spinal deformity surgery.
Polyaxial pedicle screw
The present invention is directed at a polyaxial pedicle screw comprising a detachable polyaxial head and bone screw. The detachable polyaxial head may comprise a tulip head, a collet with one or more connectors (e.g., pins) to secure it, and a spherical locking member which may lock onto the bone screw.
Paraxial Revision Rod-to-Rod Connector
Disclosed herein are an orthopedic rod-to-rod connector and rod-to-rod connector assemblies for spinal fusion surgery. The rod-to-rod connector may include a first connector portion and a second connector portion. The first connector portion may have a first aperture configured to receive at least a portion of a bone-engaging screw and a first spinal rod. The second connector portion may be rotatably connected with the first connector portion and may include a second aperture to receive a second spinal rod. The second connector portion may be L-shaped and may include a set screw to control rotation of the first connector portion with respect to the second connector portion.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SURGICAL PROCEDURES USING BAND CLAMP IMPLANTS AND TENSIONING INSTRUMENTS
Implants, systems, and methods for securing a flexible band, thereby providing a desired correction to the spine. The implant may secure the flexible band to a spinal rod and/or a pedicle screw. The implant has a locking mechanism to secure the band. The band may be looped around bony anatomy and tensioned to achieve correction and provide fixation as an alternative or supplement to pedicle screws and spinal rods during spinal deformity surgery. Tensioners may be used that allow for multiple positions for attachment between the tensioner and a band clamp inserter.
BONE ANCHORAGE SYSTEM AND SURGICAL METHODS FOR SAME
Bone anchoring methods and systems employed by such methods. The bone anchoring methods involve implanting a vertebral adjustment system into a vertebral body of a patient. The vertebral adjustment system includes a flexible member and a tensioning mechanism coupled to the flexible member. The tensioning mechanism is capable of imparting a force on the flexible member to change the tension of the flexible member. The methods include the step of engaging the tensioning mechanism to the flexible member, enabling the flexible member to be tensioned and secured in place.
Multiplanar bone anchor system
The present teachings provide one or more surgical implements for repairing damaged tissue, such as in the case of a spinal fixation procedure. A bone anchor is provided. The anchor can include a bone fastener. The bone fastener can include a head and a second end adapted to engage an anatomy. The bone fastener can extend along a longitudinal axis. The anchor can also include a coupling arrangement coupled to the head of the bone fastener so that the bone fastener is rotatable about the longitudinal axis to define a first plane of motion. The anchor can further include a saddle, which can be coupled to the coupling arrangement. The saddle can be movable relative to at least one of the bone fastener and the coupling arrangement to define a second plane of motion.
Bone anchor head extender
A pedicle screw tulip head extender. The extender can include an upper body portion joined to a lower body portion. The upper body portion can have two opposing arms extending upwardly from a curved lower surface to define a substantially U-shaped interior channel having a first channel axis, the curved lower surface defining an access opening extending through the upper body portion in a direction generally perpendicular to the first channel axis. The lower body portion can extend downwardly as a protrusion from the upper body portion and can be joined to the upper body portion and can have first and second sides, the first and second sides being substantially planar and parallel and separated by an interior portion, the first and second sides defining a protrusion height and a protrusion width. A screw can be disposed in the interior portion and have external threads defining a thread diameter greater than the protrusion width.
Spinal Fixation Assembly
Disclosed herein are a spinal fixation assembly and method to provide adequate rigidity and support for a vertebral column without requiring additional pedicle screws and spinal rods. The spinal fixation assembly includes a spinal rod loop with multiple sides configured to be attached to a vertebral body with two or more pedicle screws. Each pedicle screw is adapted to fit at various locations along the spinal rod loop.
Proximal Femur Hook Plate
A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion to be positioned along a greater trochanter of a bone. The head portion includes pairs of bone fixation element receiving openings extending therethrough from a first surface of the plate which, when the plate is in an operative position, faces away from the bone, and a second surface which, when the plate is in the operative position, faces toward the bone. A pair of cable holes extend through the head portion from a first longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces to a second longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces. The head portion includes a pair of hooks for engaging a superior ridge of the greater trochanter. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion to extend along a portion of the bone distal of the greater trochanter.
