System and method for treating a bone
A nut for treating a bone includes a head and a body extending longitudinally from the head to a free end and including a channel extending longitudinally thereinto from the free end, the channel configured to engage an end of a bone screw, and an exterior threading extending about the body from an exterior surface thereof along an entire length thereof, an outer contour of the exterior threading defined via radially outermost edges of the exterior threading, a first portion of the outer contour adjacent the head portion having a smaller diameter than a second portion of the outer contour extending from the first portion to the free end of the body.
Active Compression Devices, Methods Of Assembly And Methods Of Use
Active compression devices, methods of assembly and methods of use are disclosed. A bone fixation device may include a first member, a second member shaped to engage the first member, and at least one deformable member. A bone fusion device including a female member with a proximal and distal end, a male member with a proximal and distal end, and at least one elastic element positioned between the female member and the male member. A bone plating device including a first member, a second member shaped to engage the first member, and at least one deformable member positioned between the first member and the second member. Methods of assembling and using the bone fixation devices, bone fusion devices, and bone plating devices are also disclosed.
Cannulated compression device
The cannulated compression device creates fixation and compression across its tang housing, thus stabilizing and closing a bone fracture during placement. After insertion of the cannulated compression device, tangs are extended outward from the tang housing, locking the tang housing with respect to both rotational and axial movement. A compression nut is then threaded onto the proximal end of the tang housing. The nut has two sets of threads: a first set of threads interfaces with the tang housing, a second set of threads interfaces with the bone. By using different pitches, the amount of linear movement for the first set of threads and second set of threads is different.
Proximal femoral de-rotation nail
The invention relates to the intramedullar nail fixation (13) of the femoral bone that is used in the field of orthopedics and traumatology, in particular, in the pediatric orthopedics field; Its features include the follows; Removal of many negativities in the treatments of femoral proximal area fractures seen in the child age group, young and old bone rotation surgeries, malunion, nonunion and deformities, and in order to make positive contribution to the healing processes of patients, the proximal femoral de-rotation nail (13), by which location can be fixed by turning in an angular way, and by which the operator can perform rotation as much as necessary by fixing rotation angle, and which is formed with the proximal component (1) and the distal component (2), which can perform rotational movement on each other and can fix its location, was developed.
Ankle (Tibio-Talar) Fusion Nail
The present invention includes a tibio-talar device for providing stabilizing support between a tibia and a talus including: a bone nail adapted to traverse the tibia and the talus, wherein the bone nail is curved such that it traverses the tibia and enters the talus at an angle, wherein the bone nail is angled from lateral to medial, wherein the bone nail is configured to provide for intra medullary fusion of the ankle without obstructing the subtalar joint, wherein the bone nail has openings are positioned along the length of the bone nail, and wherein the screw engages the bone nail to lock its rotation in relation to the tibia and talus and optionally for compression of two or more bones selected from tibia to talus, fibula to tibia, or fibula to talus,
SMALL BONE ANGLED COMPRESSION SCREW
The present invention relates to a device and system for surgical fixation of small bones, small bone fragments, and osteotomies and more particularly to compression screw having a threaded leading portion which is joined to a section that is free from threads, and which includes an angle or from 12° to 25° in a plane through the longitudinal axis of the screw and a portion which is joined to a head having a configuration that is intended to provide anti-rotational stability and compression through the device.
ARTHRODESIS NAIL
The invention relates to nails used for ankle deformities and joint disorders characterized in that it comprises, in order to form an ankle arthrodesis nail (1) acting as a fixing nail passing through inside the canals of calcaneus, talus and tibia bones (19, 18, 17), providing a more rapid recovery and reducing the infection risk, at least three and at least two screw holes in lockable structure in its distal part and in its proximal part, respectively, arthrodesis nail (1) providing the closure of the inter-bone gap and an easier fusion by means of the compression effect during being fastened upon the bones, protrusions (15) extending from its proximal to its distal, and slit (12) or slits (12) at the proximal tip of the arthrodesis nail (1) to decrease the stress cracks that might occur due to the tip of the arthrodesis nail (1).
ANKLE ARTHRODESIS USING RETROGRADE HINDFOOT NAIL
An intermedullary nail for targeted arthrodesis of the tibiotalar joint. The intramedullary nail may be advanced through a bore extending through the calcaneus, talus, and into the tibia. In an example, a distal end portion of the intramedullary nail is disposed proximal to the subtalar joint. It has been recognized that creation of a bore for introduction of the intramedullary nail does not significantly disrupt the articular surface area of the subtalar joint. Furthermore, locking fasteners used to secure the intramedullary nail may introduced laterally and/or anteriorly to facilitate benefits in relation to patient placement and manipulation during an operation. Furthermore, arthrodesis may be extended to adjacent anatomy through use of extension plates at least partially secured by locking fasteners also engaging the intramedullary nail.
SUBTALAR ARTHRODESIS NAIL IMPLANT SYSTEM
A subtalar nail implant system, an apparatus and spacer for such a subtalar nail implant system and methods of fusing a subtalar joint of a patient allow for primary and revision arthrodesis of the subtalar joint. The system allows for a more stable fusion construct, compression at the fusion site and immediate weight-bearing.
Expandable intramedullary systems and methods of using the same
Intramedullary systems, expandable intramedullary nails, expandable anchors, and methods of using the same. The intramedullary system may include an expandable intramedullary nail configured to extend into an intramedullary canal of a long bone and/or one or more expandable anchors configured to extend at an angle transverse to the intramedullary nail. The intramedullary nails and/or anchors may include one or more integrated expansion mechanisms that allow for insertion in a contracted configuration and expansion into a deployed configuration to lock the relative position and prevent axial rotation and translation of the system.
