The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISTRIBUTING SD-WAN POLICIES
In one embodiment, a router includes one or more processors and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media include instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the router to perform operations including receiving software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) policies from a component of an SD-WAN network. The operations also include establishing a session with a mobile device and receiving information associated with the mobile device in response to establishing the session with the mobile device. The operations further include filtering the SD-WAN policies based on the information associated with the mobile device to generate SD-WAN device-specific policies and communicating the SD-WAN device-specific policies to the mobile device.
Funnel Hole for Intramedullary Nail
An intramedullary nail may include a shank with a centerline defined along a length thereof. The intramedullary nail may also include a channel with a channel axis transverse to the centerline. The channel may have an obround shape in a first cross-sectional plane perpendicular to the channel axis at the centerline and a tapered profile in a second cross-sectional plane containing the channel axis. A proximal edge of the channel within the second cross-sectional plane may form a first angle relative to the channel axis and a distal edge of the channel within the second cross-sectional plane may form a second angle relative to the channel axis that is different from the first angle.
SCREW-IN-SCREW BONE FIXATION SYSTEM
A bone fixation system includes a first anchor, a second anchor, and a third anchor. The first anchor is configured to be inserted into a first target location within a bone. The first anchor including a first head and a first shaft that extends from the first head and is configured to couple the first anchor to the first target location. The first head defines a head bore extending therethrough along a head bore axis. The first shaft defines a shaft bore extending therethrough along a shaft bore axis. The second anchor is sized to extend through the head bore and out of the head bore so as to couple to a second target location within the bone. The third anchor is sized to extend through the shaft bore and out of the shaft bore to a third target location within the bone.
System and method for treating a bone
A nut for treating a bone includes a head and a body extending longitudinally from the head to a free end and including a channel extending longitudinally thereinto from the free end, the channel configured to engage an end of a bone screw, and an exterior threading extending about the body from an exterior surface thereof along an entire length thereof, an outer contour of the exterior threading defined via radially outermost edges of the exterior threading, a first portion of the outer contour adjacent the head portion having a smaller diameter than a second portion of the outer contour extending from the first portion to the free end of the body.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR INTRACORPOREAL BONDING OF IMPLANTS WITH THERMAL ENERGY
The present invention provides a method for stabilizing a fractured bone. The method includes positioning an elongate rod in the medullary canal of the fractured bone and forming a passageway through the cortex of the bone. The passageway extends from the exterior surface of the bone to the medullary canal of the bone. The method also includes creating a bonding region on the elongate rod. The bonding region is generally aligned with the passageway of the cortex. Furthermore, the method includes positioning a fastener in the passageway of the cortex and on the bonding region of the elongate rod and thermally bonding the fastener to the bonding region of the elongate rod while the fastener is positioned in the passageway of the cortex.
IMPLANTABLE OSTEODISTRACTION DEVICE
An implantable osteodistraction device includes an inductive power transfer circuit at least partially within one of outer and inner tubes. A shape-memory-alloy actuator includes a shape-memory-alloy element powered by the inductive power transfer circuit and configured to transition from a first phase to a second phase with a corresponding change in shape responsive to threshold resistive heating. A force transmission apparatus includes a locking clutch connected to the shape-memory-alloy actuator and slidably connected to another one of the outer and inner tubes. The locking clutch converts change in shape of the shape-memory-alloy element, by transition from one of the first and second phases to the other one of the first and second phases, to an extension of the inner tube from within the outer tube and prevents contraction of the inner tube into the outer tube when the shape-memory-alloy element oppositely transitions.
Proximal femoral de-rotation nail
The invention relates to the intramedullar nail fixation (13) of the femoral bone that is used in the field of orthopedics and traumatology, in particular, in the pediatric orthopedics field; Its features include the follows; Removal of many negativities in the treatments of femoral proximal area fractures seen in the child age group, young and old bone rotation surgeries, malunion, nonunion and deformities, and in order to make positive contribution to the healing processes of patients, the proximal femoral de-rotation nail (13), by which location can be fixed by turning in an angular way, and by which the operator can perform rotation as much as necessary by fixing rotation angle, and which is formed with the proximal component (1) and the distal component (2), which can perform rotational movement on each other and can fix its location, was developed.
