FASTENING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A pedicle bone fastener may include a shaft, a helical thread, and an integrated attachment feature. The shaft may include a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The helical thread may be disposed about the shaft along the longitudinal axis between the proximal and distal ends of the shaft. The helical thread may include a first undercut surface and a second undercut surface. The first undercut surface may be angled toward one of the proximal end and the distal end of the shaft and the second undercut surface may be angled toward the other one of the proximal end and the distal end of the shaft. The integrated attachment feature may be disposed at the proximal end of the shaft and configured to be adjustably secured to a spinal stabilization implement.
BONE FIXATION SYSTEM
A bone fixation system includes an intramedullary rod, a cage that is configured to receive the intramedullary rod at least partially therethrough, and at least one fixator configured to connect the intramedullary rod to the cage. A method for repairing a bone defect in a patient using the bone fixation system includes implanting the cage into the bone defect, inserting at least a portion of the intramedullary rod into the cage, and securing the cage to the intramedullary rod using the fixator.

An intramedullary nail includes a body sized and shaped for insertion into a medullary canal of a bone and extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and a channel extending through the body along the longitudinal axis in combination with a locking hole extending laterally through the body along a central axis and in communication with the channel, the locking hole defined by a first opening extending through a first portion of a wall of the nail and a second opening extending through a second portion of the wall substantially opposing the first portion, the first opening being elongated in a lateral direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the nail and the second opening including a coupling element configured to lock a portion of a bone fixation element therein.
PROXIMAL HUMERAL STABILIZATION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially proximal humeral stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.
PROXIMAL HUMERAL STABILIZATION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially proximal humeral stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRAMEDULLARY NAIL IMPLANTATION
Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal end may further include a cross-locking feature, which includes a second bone anchor that interlocks with a first bone anchor, for example, for enhanced bone purchase and bony fixation.
Method and devices for intracorporeal bonding of implants with thermal energy
The present invention provides a method for stabilizing a fractured bone. The method includes positioning an elongate rod in the medullary canal of the fractured bone and forming a passageway through the cortex of the bone. The passageway extends from the exterior surface of the bone to the medullary canal of the bone. The method also includes creating a bonding region on the elongate rod. The bonding region generally aligned with the passageway of the cortex. Furthermore, the method includes positioning a fastener in the passageway of the cortex and on the bonding region of the elongate rod and thermally bonding the fastener to the bonding region of the elongate rod while the fastener is positioned in the passageway of the cortex.
Locking intramedullary nail system
An intramedullary (IM) nail system for the fixation of fractured bones in a patient comprising a nail and compression screws. The length of the body is divided into a distal section and a proximal section with the distal section containing multiple interference sections having a diameter less or greater than that of the body. The threads adjacent the nail head have an apex generally greater than the diameter of the body. The compression screws are dimensioned to be inserted through the bone and contact the nail, pressing it against the bone canal. The nail, once inserted, lies below the surface of the bone.
Proximal humeral stabilization systems and methods thereof
An intramedullary nail implant for positioning in a bone having a head and a shaft defining an intramedullary canal. The implant includes a distal portion having a shaft extending along a central axis and configured for positioning within the intramedullary canal. A proximal portion extends proximally from the distal portion. The proximal portion defines a contact surface which extends at least in part medially of the central axis such that it is configured to extend within a medial portion of the bone head. A method of implanting the nail is also provided.
Orthopedic Locking Screw For An Orthopedic Fastening System
An orthopedic locking screw is configured to be retained inside a bore of an orthopedic implant. The orthopedic locking screw includes a shaft extending axially, a casing secured around an outer surface of the shaft, a deformable thread disposed along an outer surface of the casing, and a forward external thread disposed on the shaft. The forward external thread has a pitch that is different from a pitch of the deformable thread of the casing. Further, an orthopedic locking screw is provided, wherein projections and the casing are alternately arranged on the outer surface of the shaft. Methods of securing an orthopedic screw in a bore of an orthopedic implant are also provided.
