A stent is disclosed that has an elongated body composed of a bioabsorbable polymer having a proximal end, a distal end, two open spiral channels formed on the exterior surface of the body to provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end. The stent also has a central lumen open at the proximal and distal ends of the stent for the passage of a guide wire. A method for using the stent and a kit containing the stent are also disclosed.

The intramedullary system may include an expandable intramedullary nail configured to extend into an intramedullary canal of a long bone and/or one or more expandable anchors configured to extend at an angle transverse to the intramedullary nail. The intramedullary nails and/or anchors may include one or more integrated expansion mechanisms that allow for insertion in a contracted configuration and expansion into a deployed configuration to lock the relative position and prevent axial rotation and translation of the system.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR BONE FIXATION

An example apparatus is provided for bone fixation. The apparatus may include a nail, a suture lock, a tightening device, and a suture. The nail may include a proximal end and a distal end, with the suture lock being disposed at the proximal end of the nail. The suture may extend at least between the suture lock and the tightening device. Actuating the tightening device may transition the suture lock from an unlocked position to a locked position.
