BONE FIXATION ASSEMBLY
A bone fixation assembly including a first member, a second member and a link member extending between the first member and the second member. The first and second members each including a slot formed in an axial surface of a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis. The link member including a first lateral side being slidably received in the slot of the first member and a second lateral side being slidably received in the slot of the second member.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING VIRTUAL INTERNAL FIXTURE ON BASIS OF IMAGE REDUCTION
Provided are a method and an apparatus for generating a virtual internal fixture on the basis of image reduction, the method including: recognizing positions and shapes of multiple fracture fragments in a medical fracture image including a fracture site; determining conformity of the multiple fracture fragments by analyzing the shapes of the multiple fracture fragments; performing image reduction of the fracture site by moving the positions of the multiple fracture fragments on the basis of the conformity; and generating the virtual internal fixture for fixing the fracture site for which image reduction has been performed.
Bolt apparatus
The invention provides a bolt apparatus for fixation of bones, the bolt apparatus including an expandable section being having respective ends, the expandable section being operable between a contracted position and an expanded position; and expanding means in operable association with the expandable section, to displace the expandable section between the contracted position and the expanded position by simultaneously applying force to the respective ends of the expandable section, such that each of the respective ends of the expandable section are advanced toward the opposing respective end. The invention also provides a method for fixation of bones. The method includes the steps of reducing the fracture; providing a channel across the fracture; inserting a bolt apparatus of the invention; and fixing the bolt apparatus in the channel. Preferably, the method also includes providing a plate in operative association with the bolt.
Modular proximal femoral osteotomy blade-plate assembly and related fixation method
A blade-plate assembly for performing an osteotomy procedure is disclosed. The blade-plate assembly may include a modular blade component configured to be coupled to either a Varus plate component or a Valgus plate component when performing the osteotomy procedure. In some embodiments, the modular blade component includes a support portion and a blade portion that extends outwardly in perpendicular relation to the support portion. The blade portion defines a channel configured to permit passage of a guide wire when performing the osteotomy procedure.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSERTING A CONDYLAR IMPLANT ASSEMBLY
The disclosure generally relates to condylar implant assemblies and methods for inserting an implant assembly for supporting the condylar head of a bone. More particularly the disclosure relates to an implant assembly for use in support of the condyle of a humerus, femur, or other bones having a condyle comprising spongy bone. In some implementations, the implant assembly may be inserted into the head of the bone and bands of a dilating member of the implant assembly may be expanded through slots in a tube of the implant assembly for supporting the condylar head of the bone.
Adjustable height arthroplasty plate
An orthopaedic assembly. The orthopaedic assembly includes a first member adapted to be coupled to a bone and an adjustable connector assembly including an adjuster having a threaded end and a tapered end. The assembly also includes an articulation component including a bearing surface and adapted to be coupled to the tapered end of the adjustable connector assembly. The threaded end is adapted to engage the fixation plate.
Trochanter plates
A bone plate for implanting in a femur bone having a prosthesis implanted therein includes a shaft portion defining a plurality of holes and a trochanteric portion proximal to the shaft portion having two arms forming a concave shape and defining a plurality of first holes for receiving screws such that when implanted, the two arms at least partially wrap around and attach to the femur bone. The bone plate may include at least one bendable extension positioned between both of the arms. Each of the extensions may define at least one second hole.
OSTEOTOMY PLATE AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING AN OSTEOTOMY PROCEDURE USING THE SAME
A fixation plate for securing together adjacent first and second bone sections of a bone with a bone cut extending thereinbetween, the fixation plate comprising: a first fixation portion having a bone interface side superposable against the first bone section and a second fixation portion extending away from the first fixation portion, the second fixation portion including a holding portion shaped to conform to an outer surface of the second bone section when superposed thereto and when the first and second bone sections are at a predetermined angular orientation relative to each other such that a snug fit of the second bone section with the holding portion provides an indication that the first and second bone sections are at the predetermined angular orientation relative to each other.
Screen-mounted trajectory and aiming guide for use with fluoroscopy
A template that includes a support structure pivotably mounted to a guide, wherein the guide includes a compass with angle markings, a first guide member extending from the vertex of the compass, a second guide member extending from the vertex of the compass. In another embodiment, a medical imaging system can include a medical imaging machine with a display screen, a support structure affixed to the medical imaging machine, and a guide pivotably mounted to the support structure. A method of aligning medical implants with anatomical structures includes positioning a template over the display screen, and comparing an angle of a medical tool or implant relative to the anatomical structure of the patient to a reference angle on the guide and installing the implant in the patient at the angle indicated by the guide.
Platform fracture fixation implants
A proximal portion of an implant for repairing a multipart fracture of a proximal humerus includes an asymmetric body having a proximal end, a distal end, a medial side, a lateral side, an anterior edge, and a posterior edge a medial surface extending along at least a portion of the medial side and having a proximal end and a distal end; a protrusion forming the lateral side of the asymmetric body, offset in an anterior direction, and pointing toward a bicipital groove of the humerus when the proximal portion is implanted in the humerus, an anterior support surface configured to support a lesser tuberosity; a posterior support surface configured to support a greater tuberosity; an angled surface having a first side defined by the medial surface, a second side defined by the anterior support surface, and a third side defined by the posterior support surface; and an anchoring point.
