Photodynamic articular joint implants and methods of use
Photodynamic devices for replacement of an articular head of a bone are provided. In an embodiment, a photodynamic device includes a photodynamic support member and an articular member attachable, either fixedly or removably, to the photodynamic support member and having a bearing surface. In an embodiment, the articular member includes a recess designed to receive the photodynamic support member. In an embodiment, the photodynamic support member includes an opening into which a shaft of the articular member can be inserted to attach the articular member to the photodynamic support member.

Internal fixation device for the pediatric correction of severe bone malformations
The invention concerns an inner plate fixator device (1) for the correction of severe bone malformations, of the type comprising an elongated plate (2, 2′) in which through holes (3, 4) for receiving bone screws are provided. The use of this fixator device allows the pediatric correction of severe bone malformations, in particular malformations of the proximal portion of the femur.
Medial buttress construct and a fracture fixation device for femoral neck
A medial buttress construct for femoral neck includes a support part and an attachment fixing part fixedly connected to each other. The support part includes a structure matching an inferior surface of a proximal end of the femoral neck. The attachment fixing part includes structures simultaneously matching a front side surface of a distal end of the femoral neck and a front side surface of an upper end of femoral shaft. The attachment fixing part includes at least one opening for allowing a screw to pass through the structure matching the front side surface of the distal end of the femoral neck, and at least one opening for allowing a screw to pass through the structure matching the front side surface of the upper end of the femoral shaft. A fracture fixation device for femoral neck may include the medial buttress construct for femoral neck.
Sterilization tray for holding implant insertion device for attachment to implantable device and related devices
An apparatus including a sterilizable tray having a base and at least one fixture connected to the tray adapted for removably securing an implant insertion device to the tray. The tray can be free of a first wall portion for permitting the proximal end of an implantable device to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device for coupling to the implant insertion device and can be free of a second wall portion for permitting a tool to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device so as to threadedly couple the implant insertion device to the implantable device. Related methods and apparatus are provided.
Femoral Fracture Fixation System
An implant system includes an intramedullary nail that has a proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion defines a central bore extending along a central axis of the proximal portion. The central bore defines a first camming surface. The intramedullary nail defines a transverse bore that extends transverse to the central axis of the proximal portion and intersects the central bore. A bone fastener is disposed within the transverse bore and has a groove formed on an outer surface. Also, a coupling insert is disposed within the central bore and is moveable along the central axis. The coupling insert has a first portion engaged to the central bore and a second portion that has a first moveable member extending from the first portion. Upon moving the coupling insert along the central axis, the first camming surface engages the first movable member to deflect the first moveable member into alignment with the groove of the bone fastener.
INTRAMEDULLARY ROD WITH PIVOTABLE FASTENER AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
An intramedullary rod for use with a fastener to repair a femur includes an elongate nail extending along a longitudinal axis and having a stem and a head. The head is provided with an aperture extending along an axis at an angle to the longitudinal axis for receiving the fastener. A mechanism is carried by the head for pivoting the axis of the aperture from a first angled position relative to the head to a second angled position relative to the head. A method for using the rod and fastener is provided.
Internal fixator for bone fracture
A bone fracture internal fixator for repairing a bone fracture of a femoral neck that allows load to be applied to the associated bone parts evenly, and increases the connecting strength between the femoral head and femoral shaft while minimizing the risk of the femoral head being torn apart by the inner connecting member by increasing the diameter of the inner fixing member. The central axial line of the femoral head is offset from the central axial line of the intramedullary nail placed in the medullary cavity of the femoral shaft. In order to bring the inner fixing member such as a lag screw configured to be inserted through the femoral neck close to the central axial line of the femoral neck, the central axial line of the through hole for receiving the inner fixing member is offset from the central axial line of the intramedullary nail.
Intramedullary rod for pivoting a fastener
An intramedullary rod for use with a fastener to repair a femur includes an elongate nail extending along a longitudinal axis and having a stem and a head. The head is provided with an aperture extending along an axis at an angle to the longitudinal axis for receiving the fastener. A mechanism is carried by the head for pivoting the axis of the aperture from a first angled position relative to the head to a second angled position relative to the head. A method for using the rod and fastener is provided.
Fixation device for treating a bone fracture
A fixation device for treating an epiphyseal fracture, comprises a shaft extending longitudinally along a central axis from a first end to a second end configured to slidably engage a bone implant opening and a having a maximum radius r and a spherical head element attached to the first end of the shaft and having a radius R>r, the spherical head element configured to be inserted into a fragmented portion of bone such that the fragmented portion rotates about the spherical head element relative to the central axis of the shaft.
