VERTEBRAL IMPLANTS AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
A vertebral insert may include a first linkage, a second linkage, and a third linkage. The first, second, and third linkages may at least partially defining a cavity. The insert may be movable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and the movement of the first and second linkages with respect to one another may be configured to reciprocally move the insert between the collapsed and expanded configurations.
Spine stabilization
A bone stabilizing plate includes two plate portions, each affixable to bones of a patient, the plate portions telescoping together with mating rails and grooves. A limiter associated with one of the plate portions sliding engages one a catch associated with the other of the plate portions, when the plate portions are telescoped together, and resists stops telescoping when the plate portions are telescoped a predetermined distance apart. Once the limiter and catch are engaged, the plate portions enable imposition of a minimum compressive force between bones connected to the plates. The limiter is resiliently positioned to deflect into a relief formed in its respective plate portion. A groove positioned proximate the catch enables free telescoping motion limited by the engagement of the catch and limiter, whereby the minimum compressive force between bones is maintained, and Wolfe's Law may apply.
Bone plate with movable joint
System, including methods and devices, for fixing bone. The system may include a bone plate having two or more plate members connected to one another with one or more movable joints. Each joint may permit the orientation of the plate members to be adjusted relative to one another in a single plane or two or more nonparallel planes. The joint may have a movable configuration and a fixed configuration. Methods of creating the bone plate are also provided.
Configurable intervertebral implant
The present disclosure relates to a surgical device, such as a surgical implant, which may be used in several types of procedures. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to implants for use in an anterior, posterior, posterior lateral or direct lateral approach to the disc space. The surgical device may be manipulated in various manners to accommodate delivery through a minimally invasive portal in one configuration and adjusted to a second configuration once placed in the intervertebral space. A delivery system for placing the surgical device in a body is also disclosed.
Bone Fusion/Fixation Device and Related Systems and Methods
The various embodiments disclosed herein relate to bone fixation or fusion devices, including intramedullary fixation or fusion devices that are implanted around the target bone. Certain device embodiments relates to devices that can be bent or otherwise deformed to replicate the natural or desired curve of the bone or joint being treated. In addition, other embodiments relate to implantation devices that can be used to implant or position the bone fixation or fusion devices.
Bone compression plate
A bone plate according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, inter alia, a body portion. The body portion includes a first slotted portion extending at least partially through the body portion and a plurality of teeth adjacent the first slotted portion for engaging a driver in the first slotted portion. The body portion also includes a second slotted portion extending at least partially through the body portion and a ramped portion at least partially surrounding the second slotted portion. The ramped portion tapers from an outer surface of the body portion toward an inner surface of the body portion.
Bone fixation device and method
A bone fixation device includes an elongated bone fixation plate and a rotational member that are secured to an oblique fractured bone. The fixation plate can be secured to the bone across the fracture. The rotation member can include two tabs that extend around opposite sides of the bone. The bone segments can be aligned and secured to the fixation plate. The rotation member can then be rotated so that the tabs physically contact and prevent movement of the bone segments.
Spinal plate and distraction/compression pin system
Fusion plates and interbody fusion devices have been developed that contain slots to allow the use of pins to position and to guide the placement of the plate while the screws are being secured, reducing the likelihood of improper placement and localization of the plate and screws. The slots contain ridges formed of a plurality of teeth that are configured to engage with corresponding ridges and teeth on the shaft of a distraction pin. After the plate is placed over the distraction pins, the plate is immobilized in the inferior and superior directions and also in the anterior-posterior direction even prior to placement of the bone screws in the plate. Optionally, the pins may be compressed together to apply compression to the vertebra prior to placement of the bone screws.
