An aiming guide system configured for connection to a bone plate including an aiming arm and a connection assembly. The aiming arm has a rigid body extending from a proximal end to a distal end with a plurality of aiming holes defined through the rigid body between the proximal end and the distal end thereof. The distal end defines an attachment slot through the body. The connection assembly is configured to engage an attachment screw hole of the bone plate and the attachment slot such that the aiming arm is fixed in position relative to the bone plate with each of the aiming holes aligned with a respective hole along the bone plate.

Locking mechanism for pectus bar

A surgical implant may include a first implant member, a second implant member and a fastener. The first implant member may include a first aperture having first and second ends. The first aperture may include a female threaded portion and a barrier member disposed between the first and second ends and extending radially inward into the first aperture. The female threaded portion may be disposed between the first end and the barrier member. The second implant member may include a second aperture. The fastener may extend at least partially through the first and second apertures and may include a head portion and a shaft portion. The shaft portion may include a flexible tab and a male threaded portion engaging the female threaded portion. The male threaded portion may be disposed between the flexible tab and the head portion.

ORTHOPEDIC COMPRESSION PLATE AND METHOD OF SURGERY

An orthopedic plate has a first end including a locking screw hole that receives a locking screw and spaced from that hole is a closed compression housing that extends from the bone-facing side of the plate and which receives a compression screw that forms an angle of from about 10° to about 70° with a longitudinal axis of the plate. The compression housing is not located on the medial line of the plate, but is peripheral to the medial line, either in the longitudinal or the medial direction of the plate.

Intra-osseous plate system and method

An intra-osseous support structure can be used to fixate opposed portions of bone. In some examples, the intra-osseous support structure is positioned in openings formed in adjacent portions of bones. Fasteners are inserted through the bone portions to secure the intra-osseous support structure in the bones. Depending on the application, one or more external bone plates may also be applied to the bone portions. The external bone plate may be in compression while the intra-osseous support structure is in tension under load in situ.

Plantar bone fusion plate

A plantar bone plate and a method are provided for treating fractures of metatarsal bones. The plantar bone plate comprises a generally elongate member having an upper surface and a lower, bone contact surface. Two or more fixation apertures and a compression slot are disposed along a longitudinal dimension of the elongate member. The fixation apertures receive fasteners suitable for fastening the plantar bone plate to a metatarsal bone. The compression slot receives a fastener at an oblique angle for compressing adjacent portions of the metatarsal bone so as to encourage bone fusion. A curvature along the elongate member is configured to mate the plantar bone plate with the anatomy of the plantar aspect of the metatarsal bone. In one embodiment, the curvature is comprised of at least a first bend and a second bend, such that the plantar bone plate mates with the plantar anatomy of the 5.sup.th metatarsal.

VOLAR DISTAL RADIUS STABILIZATION SYSTEM

Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially volar distal radius stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion, an enlarged head portion, and a transition region connecting the elongated portion to the enlarged head portion, and the plate including a plurality of through holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and into the bone. The plate may be used to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a radius.

ORTHOPEDIC DRILL GUIDE SYSTEM WITH LATERAL EDGE GUIDANCE, AND METHOD OF SURGERY FOR USE THEREWITH
20220031339 · 2022-02-03 ·

The invention comprises a medical implant system with implant having a fastener hole for a fastener and further including a fusion screw, positioned to avoid interference with the implant fastener. The medical implant system also includes a guide that is mounted in the fastener hole and from an edge of the implant which provides for defined adjustability for angulation, and optionally depth, to allow for placement of the fusion screw so as to avoid impingement with the implant and the fasteners that secure it in place. The invention also relates to a method of surgery using the system.

BONE PLATE SYSTEM AND METHOD

A bone plate system comprises a bone screw and a bone plate having at least two screw-receiving hole structures, at least one of the hole structures comprising an eccentric portion adjacent a first seating area for biasing bone in an inferior fusion area into dynamic compression as the screw is advanced, and a cowl portion that at least partially defines a second seating area and being positioned to enable cross-screw compression of an inferior fusion area. The screw is seatable in either the first or second seating area at the option of a surgeon. A surgical method generally comprises inserting a bone screw into the compression plate and compressing bone in an inferior fusion area by either dynamic or cross-screw compression.

Bone plate with transverse screw

An apparatus for a bone fusion assembly is provided for compressing adjacent bones across a bone fusion site to encourage fusion thereof. The bone fusion assembly includes a generally elongate member comprising a plate that has one or more fixation apertures to receive fasteners that are configured to be coupled with the adjacent bones. A threaded fastener comprising a bone screw, including a head portion and a shank, is configured to traverse the bone fusion site. A slanted aperture disposed in the plate is configured to receive the bone screw at a predetermined angle with respect to a plane of the plate. The slanted aperture comprises a smooth countersunk surface and one or more teeth that are configured to cooperate with the head portion of the bone screw to compress the adjacent bones together and encourage bone fusion therebetween.

Bone fixation devices and methods

The present disclosure provides devices, systems and methods of bone fixation. The disclosed devices, systems and methods facilitate secure fixation of first and second bone segments, such as to promote fusion thereof. The devices may include at least one bone engagement projection extending from an engagement surface of a plate portion for implantation into the first bone segment. A portion of the plate portion spaced from the at least one bone engagement projection may include at least one bone fixation aperture. The least one bone fixation aperture may allow for a one bone engagement projection to be inserted therethrough and into the second bone segment to affix the plate portion to the second bone segment. In some embodiments, the at least one bone fixation aperture may be a compression slot.
