The end effector operatively connected to the generator and configured to apply vibratory energy and pressure to an object. The sensor configured to provide an output with respect to the object. The computer configured to monitor the output and change the weld profile of the generator based on the output.

Bone fixation devices having a locking feature
10828075 · 2020-11-10 · ·

Devices and methods for locking one or more bone screws to a fixation plate. A cam-style locking feature may be disposed in the fixation plate such that, when the locking feature is in a first position, the bone screw is able to traverse an opening in the fixation plate and engage adjacent bone; and when the locking feature is rotated into a second position, an interference between the locking feature and bone screw causes the bone screw to be firmly secured to the fixation plate.

IMPLANT POSITIONER AND STERNAL PLATING SYSTEM
20200337751 · 2020-10-29 · ·

Implant positioning devices for use with and assisting in positioning orthopaedic fixation devices (such as bone plates, etc.). An implant positioning device may include a body that has a fastener guide with slits in a first end of the fastener guide that form a retaining arm proximal to the first end of the fastener guide. The implant positioning device may also be coupled to a bone plate by a retaining beam positioned within the implant positioning device to facilitate ease of alignment and insertion of the fastener into a fastener apertures of the bone plate.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR BONE TREATMENT

Apparatus and methods for treatment of a bone. The apparatus may include a mesh anchoring substrate extending longitudinally between a base and a hub. The base may have a base first end adjacent the mesh, a base second end opposite the base first end, and a cannula extending through the base. The apparatus may include a support. The support may include an elongated body extending between an end of the support and a flange. The end of the support may be configured to be removably coupled to a coupling mechanism in the hub. The flange may be configured for being seated outside the base against the base second end. A maximum circumference of the elongated body may be not greater than a cannula circumference.

MODULAR BONE IMPLANT DEVICES AND MEANS OF INSERTION

A modular bone fixation implant includes a center post having exterior bone engaging features and configured to be implanted within a bone. The center post includes an aperture at an outer end of the center post. One or more interchangeable modular components may be placed within the bone and anchored to the aperture of the center post. Interchangeable modular components may include staples, bone plates, and spacers, each having at least a first end including a post engaging arm sized and shaped to seat within an interlocking feature of the aperture. A locking screw is provided to anchor all components to the center post when the interchangeable modular components have been placed.

Apparatus and method for joint repair

A bolster system having a first bolster device, a second bolster device, and an adjustable tether that includes a one-way pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The adjustment knot is at a first position prior to insertion of the first bolster device into a passageway in one or more bones. The second bolster device includes a body portion having an outer portion that is sized to be received in the passageway and/or in an aperture of a bone plate. The body portion also includes a channel that is sized to accommodate recessed and/or embedded placement of the pre-tied slideable adjustment knot. The second bolster device can also include an oversized plate portion that abuts against a cortex of a bone or a wall of a bone plate. The second bolster device can also include a threaded member or retention tab that lockingly secures the second bolster device to a bone plate.

System for fixing cervical vertebrae and a driver used for an apparatus for fixing cervical vertebrae

A fixing system for cervical vertebrae includes a fixing apparatus for cervical vertebrae in which a cervical vertebrae-fixing plate is made close contact with cervical vertebrae and a screw is inserted into the cervical vertebrae through a screw hole formed in the cervical vertebrae-fixing plate, and a driver that rotates the screw. Here, clips for holding the inserted screw are provided in the screw hole, a convex portion is positioned at the rear of a front end portion of the driver which is fitted in a groove on the screw, and the driver loosens the inserted screw while spreading the clips using the convex portion, when the inserted screw is loosened.

ORTHOPEDIC ANCHOR ASSEMBLY

An orthopedic assembly is described that comprises an orthopedic device, an anchor, and a locking mechanism. The orthopedic device can be a plate member having an aperture that is configured to receive the anchor. The anchor can include a head, neck and shank portion. The head portion can include a plurality of arms separated by grooves that are capable of splaying. The assembly is configured such that when the locking mechanism is inserted into the head portion, this causes expansion of the arms of the head. This expansion locks and secures the anchor to the orthopedic device. Various instruments are provided that can deliver the locking mechanism to the anchor, and can provide impact to lock functionality.

Flexible plate fixation of bone fractures
10716605 · 2020-07-21 · ·

Embodiments provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for fixation of a fractured bone. In various embodiments, the systems and plates may provide elastic suspension of the receiving holes relative to the osteosynthesis plate. This elastic suspension may promote load distribution between the screws that connect a bone segment to the plate, thereby reducing stress risers and load shielding effect. In addition, stress at the screw holes, and within the construct as a whole, is reduced by incorporation of these elastic elements in the plate. Additionally, in some embodiments, for instance if fracture healing by callus formation is desired, elastic suspension of the receiving holes relative to the osteosynthesis plate may enable small, controlled amounts of relative motion between bone fragments connected by the plate, which may promote fracture healing by callus formation.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING TORSION OF A SCREW
20200222092 · 2020-07-16 · ·

A system for determining the torsion of a screw is provided. The system generally comprises a first washer, second washer, spring, radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, and interrogation device. A screw is inserted through the system and provides the compression force necessary to bring the first washer and second washer separated by the spring in contact with one another, thus creating a complete circuit from the first circuit portion and second circuit portion of the signal transmitter. The interrogation device is used to send and receive information to and from the signal transmitter. An encasing may be used to encapsulate the first washer, second washer, spring, and signal transmitter in a way such that they are protected from the environment.
