Mandibular fixation plate

A bone fixation implant is provided that includes a bone fixation plate and a plurality of fasteners. The bone fixation plate corresponds generally to stress lines imparted onto the mandible during anatomical function of the mandible. Thus, the bone fixation plate includes a primary leg and an auxiliary leg extending obliquely out from the primary leg.

Pancarpal arthrodesis bone plate

A bone plate is configured for pancarpal arthrodesis. The bone plate can include a plurality of apertures that can be aligned with the metacarpal bones. The apertures can include a first portion and second portion that is longitudinally and laterally offset with respect to the first portion.

Medial column fusion plates

A medial column bone plate, comprises a first portion which, when the plate is positioned along a medial column of a foot in a desired position, extends along a navicular, the first portion including at least two first variable angle holes extending therethrough, each of the first variable angle holes configured to receive a bone fixation element therethrough at a user-selected angle relative to a central axis thereof and a second portion extending distally from the first portion so that when the plate is in the desired position, the second portion extends along a medial cuneiform, the second portion including at least one second variable angle hole configured to receive a bone fixation element therein at a user-selected angle relative to a central axis thereof and a first compression slot extending therethrough in combination with a third portion extending distally from the second portion so that the third portion extends along a first metatarsal of the medial column in the desired position, the third portion including a third variable angle hole configured to receive a bone fixation element therein at a user-selected angle relative to a central axis thereof and a second compression slot extending therethrough.

ORTHOPEDIC COMPRESSION PLATE AND METHOD OF SURGERY

An orthopedic plate has a first end including a locking screw hole that receives a locking screw and spaced from that hole is a closed compression housing that extends from the bone-facing side of the plate and which receives a compression screw that forms an angle of from about 10° to about 70° with a longitudinal axis of the plate. The compression housing is not located on the medial line of the plate, but is peripheral to the medial line, either in the longitudinal or the medial direction of the plate.

A lateral spine implant has a plate, configured bone screws, and configured setscrews providing locking of bone screw movement. The plate has at least two identically configured bone screw bores, each one with a spherical seat at a bottom opening, and threads around the inner circumference of a top opening. Each setscrew has a cylindrical body with external threads that mate with inner threads of the bone screw bore in order to affix the setscrew to the plate. A threaded spherical pocket is provided in a bottom of the setscrew body which conjoins with the spherical bone screw head to secure the setscrew with the bone screw head, fixing bone screw orientation/angulation. The bone screw head has a formation or formations about at least a portion of its exterior circumference that cooperate with the threads of the spherical pocket of the plate in order to fix bone screw orientation/angulation.

SECURING FASTENERS

A fastener, for example a bone screw, is sized to pass into an aperture of an implant, for example, a bone plate, the fastener having an anchor portion engageable with body tissue, and a head portion formed by an assembly of an insert and an anchor extension. The insert and anchor extension cooperate to form a reduced dimension passable into the aperture, and an expanded dimension not passable out of the aperture. The size of the assembly may be configurable, for example, by tabs, ramped surfaces, or an expanding diameter of a threadable insert.

VOLAR DISTAL RADIUS STABILIZATION SYSTEM

Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially volar distal radius stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion, an enlarged head portion, and a transition region connecting the elongated portion to the enlarged head portion, and the plate including a plurality of through holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and into the bone. The plate may be used to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a radius.

Locking Plate System for Treatment of Fracture of Distal Radius

Provided is a locking plate system for treatment of a distal radius fracture, including a locking plate (4) that is a flat laminate of intermediate molding materials that includes carbon fibers as a reinforcing material and thermoplastic resin as a matrix; a screw anchor (5) having a shaft portion (10) which has a principal thread (13) achieving a self-tapping action formed thereon and an outer circumference of a head portion of the screw anchor (5) which has an auxiliary thread (13) achieving a self-tapping action tapped thereon; and a through-hole (6) in the radius locking plate (4), which allows the radius main body (3) and the fractured bone piece (2) to be threadably fixed to the radius locking plate (4) and having a diameter that is oversized relative to the principal thread (11), and that is undersized relative to the auxiliary thread (13).

Humeral fixation plate guides

An anchor trajectory guide and methods of use thereof are provided. The guide includes a body that has a medial side. The medial side can be placed over a lateral side of a fixation plate. The anchor trajectory guide also includes a locator and a plurality of guide apertures. The locator is disposed on or through the medial side of the body. The locator can be mated with the fixation plate. The guide apertures are disposed through the body at positions corresponding to define anchor locations and orientations to provide good purchase adjacent to or in cortical bone around a medial side of a humerus.

Variable axis locking mechanism for use in orthopedic implants

A locking mechanism assembly to allow locking of a fastener in an orthopedic implant having its axis at a variable angle relative to the axis of threaded through opening in the implant. The assembly includes a locking insert, having threads which mates with the threads of the through opening and which includes a smooth opening that forms a torque driving recess and an annular flange. A fixator has a head portion with external threads of a harder material than that which forms the through opening so that the threads of the fixator will deform the insert to lock the fixator in a desired position relative to the plate.
