Bone plate with a transfixation screw hole
A system for securing bones together across a joint includes a transfixation screw and a plate. The plate includes an elongate spine having a transfixation screw hole disposed along the spine. The transfixation screw hole includes an inner surface configured to direct the transfixation screw through the transfixation screw hole such that the transfixation screw extends alongside the bridge portion at a trajectory configured to pass through a first position on the first bone and a second position on the second bone once the plate is placed across the joint. The transfixation screw includes a head configured to abut the inner surface of the transfixation screw hole and a shaft configured to contiguously extend through the first bone, across the joint, and into the second bone.
Method and apparatus for attaching soft tissue to bone
A repair system including at least one anchor, screw, or plate with a body and a suture capture element formed in the body for attaching at least one suture to the anchor, screw, or plate. The suture capture element being configured so as to permit the suture to be snared by the suture-capture element after the anchor, screw, or plate has been attached to bone.
Bone screw
A bone screw is disclosed. A head includes a driver-receiving element formed thereon. A shank having a proximal portion, which is integrally connected to the head, and a distal portion maintains a constant diameter from the proximal portion to the distal portion. Three helical threads extend around the shank from the proximal portion to the distal portion. The three helical threads are symmetrically and helically aligned and advance uniformly along the length of the shank for each revolution to define a thread depth that remains constant along the length of the shank. The three helical threads respectively include three leads, which are offset by approximately 120° from each another. A tip is integrally connected to the distal portion of the shank and the tip intersects with a flute to define a self-tapping point.
Disposable orthopedic surgery kit and components
A disposable single indication orthopedic trauma surgical kit has no bone plates other than a single bone plate precountoured and sized to match an anatomic shape of a portion of a bone of a patient's extremity. The single bone plate has a plurality of fastener apertures. The surgical kit also has a plurality of fasteners with heads that are dimensioned to mate with the fastener apertures. The surgical kit also has a disposable torque driver adapted to engage the fastener heads. The foregoing components are contained in a sterile sealed container.
ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANT WITH IMPROVED VARIABLE ANGLE LOCKING MECHANISM
An orthopedic implant including an outer surface and at least one opening extending through the outer surface for receiving a fastener for coupling the implant to a patients bone or bone portion/fragment. The opening including a plurality of fins circumferentially disposed about the opening for engaging threads formed on a head portion of the fastener to secure the fastener to the implant. The plurality of fins being arranged and configured in first and second vertically spaced rows of fins. At least one of the fins including a different configuration, property, etc. relative to at least one of the other plurality of fins. In one embodiment, each of the first and second fins in a vertically stacked relationship includes a different configuration from the other of the first and second fins in that stack. In one embodiment, the different configuration includes a different length, a different thickness, or a combination thereof.
Bone Plates Having Multi-Use Combination Holes For Locking And Dynamic Compression, And Related Systems And Methods
A bone plate includes a plate body defining an interior surface that defines a combination hole that includes intersecting locking and compression holes that each extend between outer and bone-facing surfaces of the plate body. A central axis of the compression hole is spaced from a central axis of the locking hole in an offset direction. A locking surface of the plate body defines the locking hole and at least one locking structure therein. A compression surface of the plate body defines the compression hole. An intersection boundary between the locking and compression surfaces is configured to translate the bone plate in the offset direction during contact between the intersection boundary and a head of a compression screw as it advances within the combination hole along an insertion axis offset from the central axis of the locking hole at an offset distance in a direction having a directional component in the offset direction.
BONE SCREWS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The invention features bone screws having a threaded screw body and a screw head attached to one end of the screw body, the bone screw further including: a) an interior channel extending longitudinally through the screw head and through at least a portion of the screw body, wherein the interior channel has a width of less than 5.0 millimeters; and b) a plurality of radially-disposed delivery channels connecting the interior channel to the exterior of the screw body, each delivery channel having exterior openings. The invention further features devices that include a bone screw and a delivery manifold detachably attached to the screw head of the bone screw. In addition, the invention features methods of treating a patient having a bone defect by using a bone screw described herein.
BONE STABILIZATION SYSTEMS
Bone plates for engaging bone members are described herein. The bone plates can receive one or more screws to secure the bone plates to an underlying bone member. The one or more screws can be inserted into bone plate holes that can be considered locking or non-locking. The bone plates described herein can have particular combinations of locking and/or non-locking holes. In addition, instruments such as distal and proximal aiming guides can accompany the bone plates to guide one or more screws into the bone plates.
Bone fixation plate and method of using thereof
The disclosure provides a fixation device for internal fixation of an osteotomy below the tibial tuberosity. The fixation plate including a top-end portion including three pinholes, three screw holes, and a first Combi hole; a bottom-end portion including a second Combi hole, two screw holes, and one pinhole; and a connection portion connecting the top-end portion to the bottom-end portion. The top-end portion is capable of fixating the portion of the tibia above a cut of the osteotomy, and the bottom-end portion is capable of fixating the portion of the tibia below the cut.
FRACTURE FIXATION SYSTEM
In various implementations, a fracture fixation system includes a plate, at least two distal screws, at least one fastener, and at least one wire. The plate has a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis that extends between the proximal and distal ends. The plate also includes a distal end portion adjacent the distal end that defines at least two circular openings and an intermediate portion disposed between the proximal end portion and distal end portion. The intermediate portion defines at least one axially oriented elongated slot. The distal screws engage the respective circular openings and a distal end of the bone below a fracture of the bone. The fastener is slidably coupled to the axially oriented elongated slot to prevent movement laterally, rotationally, or angularly of the bone relative to the plate while allowing the proximal and distal portions of the bone to compress the fracture.
