EXPANDABLE BONE FIXATION SCREW WITH REMOVABLE CORE PIN
A bone screw, and method of using the same, are described. The bone screw includes a head, a distal threaded portion, and an expandable intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is expandable in response to a force being applied from an unstressed or relaxed state to a stressed or unrelaxed state. A removable core pin may be inserted into the intermediate portion to stretch or stress and/or stabilize the intermediate portion.
Variable angle bone plate
A bone plate having at least one variable angle locking hole is described. The variable angle locking hole allows a bone anchor having a threaded head to be driven into underlying bone while oriented at an angle with respect to a central hole axis of the hole that is within a range of angles at which the head is configured to threadedly mate with the at least one thread of the bone plate. Accordingly, the bone anchor can be driven into the underlying bone until the threaded head threadedly purchases with the bone plate inside the variable angle locking hole.
BONE MARROW ACCESS APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR LOCATING SAME
A bone marrow access apparatus includes a bone penetrating member and a cap. The bone penetrating member includes a tubular insertion portion, and a head portion provided at a proximal end of the tubular insertion portion. A cross-sectional shape of the head portion is wider than a cross-sectional shape of the tubular insertion portion. A recess is provided in the head portion, and an internal channel is provided through the head portion and the tubular insertion portion. The cap accommodates the head portion of the bone penetrating member therein. The cap includes a lower wall which covers at least a part of a distal side of the head portion, and a projection which projects into the recess of the head portion.
In-situ additive implants
An in-situ additive-manufacturing system for growing an implant in-situ for a patient. The system has a multi-nozzle dispensing subsystem and a distal control arm. The multi-nozzle dispensing subsystem in one embodiment includes first and second dispensing nozzles. The first and second nozzles include first and second printing-material delivery channels, respectively. In another embodiment, the in-situ additive-manufacturing system includes a multi-material subsystem having a dispensing nozzle including first and second printing material delivery channels. Controlling computing and robotics componentry are provided. In various aspects, respective storage for first and second printing materials, and one or more pumping structures, are provided.
BONE FUSION DEVICE
A bone fusion device includes: a shaft including a porous section and a threaded proximal section configured for facilitating a compression.
Bone plate and bone plate kit
In order to apply, with a simple and easy means, proper pressure between bone segments spaced apart as a result of osteotomy or a bone fracture, without lowering the fixing force at the screw meshing portion, without increasing a dead space, and without increasing the thickness of the plate, the present invention provides a bone plate having an upper face, which is to be in contact with bone, a lower face, which is to be in contact with the bone, and a plurality of holes arranged to receive bone screws and connecting the upper face and the lower face. In at least one of the holes, a portion of an edge, on the upper face, of the hole is formed so as to be raised in the form of a protrusion higher than the upper face around the hole.
TRANSPEDICULAR ANCHORING SCREW WITH REINFORCED SECONDARY STABILITY
A transpedicular anchoring screw including a screw body having a first helical thread having:includes a proximal portion, having notched portions inscribed within notched angular sectors and separated by separation portions inscribed within separation angular sectors, where, over a screw pitch, a ratio between the sum of the measurements of the separation angular sectors and the sum of the measurements of the notched angular sectors is between 50% and 150%. The anchoring screw also includes a distal portion, having notched portions inscribed within notched angular sectors and separated by separation distal portions inscribed within separation angular sectors, where, over a screw pitch, a ratio between the sum of the measurements of the separation angular sectors and the sum of the measurements of the notched angular sectors is between 0% and 10%.
ANCHORING FIXTURE WITH IMPROVED CUTTING CAPABILITY
An anchoring fixture for anchoring a prothesis to a skull bone may comprise a screw thread apparatus including a screw thread having a varying outer diameter and formed along a longitudinal length of the anchoring fixture; a flange configured to function as a stop for the anchoring fixture adapted to rest on top of the bone when the anchoring fixture is implanted into the bone; at least a main relief chamber formed into a portion of the screw thread having a first side along the longitudinal length that is curved shaped, and wherein the anchoring fixture is tapered over at least a first portion of the longitudinal length of the anchoring fixture and where the first portion is arranged at a distal end of the anchoring fixture, and where the distal end is opposite to the flange.
Nonmetallic implant screw locking structure
The invention provides a nonmetal implant screw locking structure, which has the advantages of simple structure, novel design, simple production and processing, and convenient clinical operation. In addition, the structure of the invention can be used for orthopedic nonmetal implants such as the bone injury repair plate, spinal fusion cage, spinal fixation plate, posterior cervical single trapdoor plate, posterior cervical plate, lumbar anterior plate and lumbosacral plate, bringing good economic and social benefits gradually.
Surgical screw
A surgical screw configured to expand and prevent or minimize bone growth inside of the surgical screw is provided. Accordingly, the surgical screw is configured to increase the purchase of the surgical screw with respect to the bone, but also to be withdrawn from the bone without damaging the bone as a result of bone ingrowth. The surgical screw includes a center post with an inner bore and an outer sleeve concentric to the center post. An outer surface of the outer sleeve includes a thread to engage bone. The outer sleeve includes a cut pattern defining an expandable region configurable between a first state with a first radius measured from a longitudinal axis of the surgical screw to the outer surface and a second state having a second radius measured from the longitudinal axis to the outer surface.
