SPINAL FACET IMPLANT AND DELIVERY TOOLS
20220323117 · 2022-10-13 ·

A spinal implant for implantation within a spinal facet joint, the implant comprising: a main body including: opposing top and bottom surfaces; opposing front and rear surfaces; and opposing side surfaces; at least one retaining feature associated with at least one surface of the main body to frictionally engage the implant within the spinal facet joint; and two secure ment apertures extending through the main body to fixedly secure the implant within the spinal facet joint.

Demineralized bone fiber implant compositions and methods for rotator cuff and ACL repair

A composition and methods of making or use thereof include a plurality of fibers forming a shape for augmenting fixation of a bone screw, or the plurality of fibers form a shape having a peg portion and a sheet portion to augment tendon to bone repair. The physical presence of the plurality of fibers provides initial fixation, while the use of an osteoinductive material provides long term enhancement of bone formation around the site of the bone screw or the tendon to bone repair.

Anchor delivery systems

Anchor delivery systems include markings on the surfaces of the delivery device which are visually exposed to the user through openings or fenestrations in the anchor, providing visual feedback to the user on the progress of the anchor's insertion. A suture-locking plug is deformable within the anchor tip, thereby enhancing suture entrapment within the tip of the anchor. A compliant component of the handle places the handle components in tension, thereby absorbing built-in axial looseness in the handle. The handle further includes a spin cavity which allows for free spin of the inserter shaft to finalize insertion of the anchor into bone when the anchor has not been fully seated flush with or below the cortical bone surface.

BONE PLATE, SURGICAL SETS AND RECONSTRUCTION SETS

A bone plate for reconstruction or trauma treatment of a bone which comprises first and second ends, a first contact surface for contacting and securing on a first region of the bone, and a plurality of receiving mechanism each having at least one opening for receiving at least one securing element. At least two adjacent wings extend at least from the first end of the main section, each has a second contact surface for contacting and securing to a second region of the bone, as well as at least one receiving mechanism having at least one opening for each receiving a securing element. A minimum bending stiffness of the main section, in relation to an axis (x) running perpendicular to the first contact surface, is greater than the minimum bending stiffnesses of the wings, but smaller than the total minimum bending stiffness of all wings extending from the first end.

Bone screw with a slotted self-drilling tip
11678920 · 2023-06-20 ·

A self-drilling bone screw, comprising a head, a threaded body, and a tip region. The threaded body extends vertically below the head and has a helical male threading. The tip region extends vertically below the treaded body. The tip region is fluted and has a pointed bottom tip, such that the tip region is configured to drill a hole into a bone and generate bone chips. The tip region further has a slot disposed horizontally through a portion of the tip region above the pointed bottom tip, the slot being configured to trap at least some of the bone chips, thereby enabling fusion between the bone and the bone chips. A diameter of threaded body is larger than a maximal diameter of the tip region.

BONE FIXATION SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE

A bone fixation system comprises a first fastener configured to anchor into a first vertebrae, a second fastener configured to anchor into a second vertebrae, and a set screw to retain the second fastener to the first fastener. The first fastener includes a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and a head. The shaft includes a first cylindrical body. The head of the first fastener includes a second cylindrical body defining a passageway having an interior surface. The passageway defines a longitudinal axis that is different than the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The first cylindrical body of the shaft and the second cylindrical body of the head are angled relative to each other. A head of the second fastener is configured to engage the interior surface of the passageway of the head of the first fastener. The set screw retains the head of the second fastener in the passageway.

Methods of fusing a sacroiliac joint

Systems for and methods of fusing a sacroiliac joint are provided which may include an implant adapted to be inserted into the joint space defined by the bones of a sacrum and an ilium and a delivery tool for inserting the implant into the sacroiliac joint. The method may include delivering the implant into the SI joint in a first position and transitioning the implant from the first position to a second position in situ. The implant may be configured such that in the second position the implant generally mimics a shape of the joint space of the sacroiliac joint. The implant may further include an actuation mechanism configured to cause the implant to transition from the first position to the second position. The actuation mechanism may include a hydraulic, pneumatic, geared or screwed mechanical arrangement.

SURGICAL FIXATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A surgical fixation system can include a fixation device, a loop connected to the fixation device, a graft carried by the loop, and a reinforcement material. Surgical fixation systems can be used in various tissue reconstruction procedures, including but not limited to, ACL and PCL reconstructions. The graft and the reinforcement material may be tensioned independently of one another to avoid stress shielding the graft.

BONE ANCHOR ASSEMBLY
20170333027 · 2017-11-23 ·

Embodiments of the bone anchor assembly (36, 50) described herein have adjustable lengths and therefore accommodate many needs. Therefore, the physician does not need to maintain a multitude of bone anchors having a variety of lengths in order to be prepared for many situations. The bone anchor assembly (36, 50) has an elongated hollow shaft portion (38, 52) formed of multiple shaft segments (46, 58) joined together. The length of the shaft portion (38, 52) is adjusted after the implanting of the bone anchor assembly into the bone by removing shaft segments (46, 58).

METHOD OF CORRECTING HALLUX VARUS JOINT DEFORMITY
20170333101 · 2017-11-23 ·

Disclosed are methods for correcting hallux varus joint deformity in a foot. The method can include forming a first hole in a first metatarsal of the foot from a medial side to a lateral side of the first metatarsal. A second hole can be formed in a proximal phalanx of a hallux that extends from a medial side to a lateral side of the proximal phalanx. The method includes passing a suture through the first hole, along a lateral side of a first metatarsal phalangeal joint, and through the second hole. The suture can be tensioned between the first and second holes to reduce the hallux to a rectus position relative to the first metatarsal. The suture can be secured within the first and second holes with a first interference screw inserted within the first hole and a second interference screw inserted within the second hole.
