BONE STABILIZATION SYSTEMS

An aiming guide system configured for connection to a bone plate including an aiming arm and a connection assembly. The aiming arm has a rigid body extending from a proximal end to a distal end with a plurality of aiming holes defined through the rigid body between the proximal end and the distal end thereof. The distal end defines an attachment slot through the body. The connection assembly is configured to engage an attachment screw hole of the bone plate and the attachment slot such that the aiming arm is fixed in position relative to the bone plate with each of the aiming holes aligned with a respective hole along the bone plate.

Fusion device

A fusion device assembly for fusion of a joint, including a fusion device, including a distal end, a proximal end, a radially outward facing surface including threading, a bore extending from the proximal end, at least one flute arranged proximate the distal end, and at least one aperture arranged adjacent to the at least one flute, and a reversibly connected hollow drive shaft for insertion of said device which, in a some embodiments, is hollow to allow addition of supplementary bone graft materials or products, should this be desired, without altering the position of the deployed device.

MEDICAL IMPLANT THREADED PLUG HAVING A START STRUCTURE

A medical implant assembly including a receiver and a fastener. The receiver having helically wound thread extending up to a top surface thereof. The fastener having an axis of rotation and a continuously helically wound thread form. The continuously helically wound thread form having a start structure and an upper loading surface extending between a root and a crest of the continuously helically wound thread form. The start structure having a leading face extending below the upper loading surface. The leading face including a partial curvate surface extending between the root and the crest. The start structure being configured as a single lead start structure and a dual lead start structure.

Bone fracture fixation clamp

A bone fixation clamp includes first and second clamp members, a stud, and a locking nut. The first member extends along a curve corresponding to an outer surface of a first portion of bone and includes an opening extending therethrough along an axis extending adjacent to the bone. The second member extends along a curve corresponding to an outer surface of a second portion of bone. The stud is receivable within the opening of the first member. The nut includes a threaded channel threadedly engaging a portion of the stud so that, when the first and second members are in the operative configuration, the nut is threadable over the stud to fix the first and second members over bone. The nut includes an anti-loosening feature which, when the nut is threaded over the stud, results in an interference with threading along the stud.

Spinal implant system and method

A spinal construct includes a coupling member including a first mating surface engageable with an existing fastener implant. The existing fastener implant defines a cavity configured for disposal of an existing spinal rod implant. A connector is engageable with the existing fastener implant and has a rod extending therefrom. A locking member is engageable with a second mating surface of the coupling member. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

POP-ON-CAP ASSEMBLIES HAVING OPPOSING SPLAY-RESISTING FEATURES AND GENERALLY REACTANGULAR OPPOSING ROTATION-PREVENTING/ROTATION-RESISTING FEATURES FOR SPINAL SURGERY

A spinal-surgery system having a rod receiver and/or a cap having a generally cylindrical body, a set of opposing splay-resisting flanges, and a set of opposing rotation-preventing/rotation-resisting wings. Each wing has a lateral rotation-preventing portion and a lateral rotation-resisting portion. A receiver proximal end forms a wing-receiving cavity having a lateral rotation-preventing side and a lateral rotation-resisting side. Each flange has a proximal-facing splay-resist surface, and a distal-facing pop-on surface. Each receiver proximal protrusion has a proximal-facing sloped receiver pop-on surface, and a distal-facing sloped receiver splay-resist surface. Each rotation-preventing portion contacts a corresponding rotation-preventing side and each rotation-resisting portion contacts a corresponding rotation-resisting sides when the cap is popped on. The rotation-preventing portions contacting the rotation-preventing sides prevents cap rotation in a first direction. The rotation-resisting portion contacting the rotation-resisting side resists cap rotation in a second direction, but allows rotation in the second, forcing the arms to splay.

Pop-on-cap assemblies having opposing splay-resisting features and generally demi-teardrop opposing rotation-preventing/rotation-resisting features for spinal surgery

A spinal-surgery system having a rod receiver and/or a cap. The cap has a cylindrical body, opposing splay-resisting flanges, and an opposing rotation-preventing/rotation-resisting wings, each wing having a lateral rotation-preventing surface and a lateral rotation-resisting surface. A receiver proximal end forms a wing-receiving cavity having a lateral rotation-preventing side and a lateral rotation-resisting side. Each flange has a proximal-facing cap splay-resist surface, and a distal-facing cap pop-on surface. Each receiver proximal protrusion has a proximal-facing sloped receiver pop-on surface, and a distal-facing sloped receiver splay-resist surface. Each rotation-preventing surface contacts a corresponding rotation-preventing side and each rotation-resisting surface contacts a corresponding rotation-resisting sides when the cap is popped on. The rotation-preventing surfaces contacting the rotation-preventing sides prevents cap rotation in a first direction. The rotation-resisting surfaces contacting the rotation-resisting sides resists cap rotation in a second direction, but allows cap rotation in the second direction to force receiver arm splay.
