The resorbable section includes a tip side and a drive side, the resorbable section is between the first non-resorbable section and the second non-resorbable section, with the tip side of the resorbable section coupling to the first non-resorbable section and the drive side coupling to the second non-resorbable section.

Anti-splay bone anchor

An anti-splay bone anchor is provided. The anti-splay bone anchor comprises a screw shank, a screw head and a locking cap member as the primary components. The screw head comprises a first opposing member having a first profile and a second opposing member having a second profile; a through hole for receiving the screw shank there-through. The locking cap member comprises a body, a through hole, a set screw and a first and a second tab. The through hole has threads on the inner surface which is adapted to threadably receive the set screw having threads on the outer surface. The first tab and the second tab, each extending radially outward from the locking cap member, have a third and a fourth profile which are complimentary to the first profile and the second profile, respectively.

The present invention relates to stable fixation of spine segments, allowing for fusion in, e.g., skeletally mature patients. More particularly, the invention relates to a bone fixation device that can be affixed to vertebrae of a spine to provide reduction (or enlargement) capabilities and allow for fixation in the treatment of various conditions, including, e.g., spondyloslisthesis, degenerative disc disease, fracture, dislocation, spinal tumor, failed previous fusion, and the like, in the spine. The invention also relates to a method for delivering and implanting the bone fixation device.

BONE ANCHOR ASSEMBLY WITH RING RETAINER AND INTERNAL SNAP RING

A pivotal bone anchor assembly includes a bone anchor having a capture portion with a frusto-conical outer surface and a horizontal capture recess extending circumferentially around a mid-portion thereof, a receiver having a central bore with a seating surface proximate a bottom opening, and a ring retainer having a retainer aperture with an inner surface that is slidably engageable with the frusto-conical outer surface of the capture structure and a retainer aperture recess extending circumferentially into the inner surface. The assembly further includes a snap ring positionable within the retainer aperture recess with a snap ring aperture smaller than the retainer aperture. Upon securing the ring retainer within the central bore with the retainer aperture centered above the bottom opening, the capture portion is uploadable into the retainer aperture with the frusto-conical outer surface engaging and continuously expanding the snap ring until the horizontal capture recess reaches the retainer aperture recess and the snap ring snaps into the horizontal capture recess to couple the bone anchor to the ring retainer.

Ligament fixation system, implants, devices, and methods of use

Devices, systems, implants and methods for achieving ligament fixation are disclosed. An implant includes a head member and an anchor member coupled to the head member. The implant includes tension member that couples the head member to the anchor member. The head member and the anchor member include a cannulation that receives the tension member therein. The implant may include a coupling member positioned between and coupling the head member and the anchor member, the coupling member including a cannulation that receives the tension member therethrough. Insertion instruments for inserting an implant for ligament fixation are also disclosed. Methods of using an implant for achieving ligament fixation are also disclosed.
